Friends, reader Carolyn needs your advice.
She is from the UK but coming to visit California, basically all over the state from north to south. A lot of running products aren’t available there so she’s looking for recommendations on running stores, products and also running trails/paths while she’s here.
Anyone have any advice to give? Must visit running stores (and what things should she check out) and places to run?
*Go join in on that cutie Charissa’s Colorful Smoothie Challenge!

A family friend of mine, the oldest of 3 girls, lost her mom to breast cancer when we were kids. At 27, she found a lump and learned she had the BRCA gene. She opted for a full double mastectomy and is currently cancer-free. One of her sisters also had the gene and did the same.
Together, along with 3 other young women in similar situations, they started a foundation called 5under40 to raise awareness and help others combat the disease. 5under40 recently partnered with the ING NYC marathon and has 10 race entries for anyone willing to raise $2,500 for their charity.
I’m writing to ask for a donation to help support St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. I am participating in the Glass Slipper Challenge in February at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and am running as one of St. Jude’s Heroes. Please take a minute to donate HERE.
My journey to the Glass Slipper Challenge will be difficult and long (The Enchanted 10k on Saturday and the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday!!!), but it’s nothing like what those little kids face on a daily basis!
