WORKOUT -

Piloxing Class -

55 mins

Walk w/ girls -

3.4 miles

This morning I took a Piloxing (Pilates + Boxing) class at Xtend barre at 6:30am.

{We use .5 pound each weighted gloves}

I wore my heart rate monitor and my average HR was 141 bpm for the class.  Since I don’t know what my baseline is, I don’t even know what that means.  What is ‘new high score’ mean?  Is that bad?  Did I break it?

Piloxing looks like a really good class! I love Grandma’s boy it is one of the greatest and most classic movies! In fact maybe I will see if I can find it on Netflix now :)

Aw thanks for the shout out! And thanks for introducing me to another coupon site because I don’t already spend my life savings on Groupon.

I think that 141 is a really good HR. It’s in the “fat-burning” range.

Piloxing sounds like a really intense class! I bet it’d be fun though.

OOhh I need new compression sleeves! My zensah ones are so stretched out they don’t stay up around my calves! I’ve never tried piloxing but it sounds really fun! I love DDR and zumba type workouts so that sounds awesome!

i tried piloxing last week and actually loved it. it was a ‘trial’ class so i didn’t even have the gloves…. and my arms were still sore the next day!

I’m thinking about getting metal legs. It’s a risky operation, but it’ll be worth it.

Here’s a brief explanation of Heart Rates & exercise intensities:
HRmax = 220 – Age (30) = 190
Piloxing range is 60% – 80% of HR max, so your goal is to stay between 114 – 150. You did it! Boxing sets are at 80% and Pilates sets are 60%. Interval training like in Piloxing has shown to burn more calories than a constant heart rate.

When I run, my HR averages 168, and on the elliptical I average is 158. The highest I’ve gotten my heart rate was around 178-180, when I was doing some hard core HR testing.
