flying home from Houston this morning
Last Thursday by some miracle or luck o’ of the Irish, I was invited to a Nuun electrolyte drink tabs “Afternuun Rehydration” event in San Diego with Sarah put on by SMACK! Media.
There was big wigs in the industry, professional athletes and then us… so totally our jam.

We took a Woody-style bus down to San Diego which in itself was an adventure – I’ve never been on a bus with couches and wood paneling on the ceiling. Filing ideas away for the next Ragnar team…
We were able to sample Nuun’s new flavors that are coming out this Spring: Watermelon, Cherry Limeade and Lemonade. My favorite was watermelon; it tastes like a Jolly Rancher but not as sweet and it has caffeine… my favorite thing in the world besides drawstring sweatpants.
I want to buy like 700 tubes of watermelon for this girl because then she will go on walks with me forever.
After hydrating up, we took a tour of the Stone Brewing Company. Even though I’m not a beer drinker, it was fun to pretend I was one learn how beer is actually made. I just thought it all came from the magical Rocky Mountains and those Budweiser Clydesdales.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sarah so happy. or tall.
This picture isn’t great because the lighting was terrible. Just kidding, it’s because I’m a terrible photographer.
I think our tour guide said that the most bottles Stone has produced in one day was 217,000 but I could be lying on that one just to impress you.
Afterwards there was beer tastings, lots of chatting and destroying a burger and fries for dinner.

This looks like such a fun day! Mingling with the big wigs is the best… albeit slightly intimidating if you’re me haha but I’d go for the burger and fries for sure! This is all really cool!
This looks like fun. I can’t wait for the new flavors of Nuun. Both the Watermelon and the Cherry Limeade sound delicious. I hope the cherry limeade tastes like the Sonic ones.
Sounds like a blast, even if beer isn’t totally your thing. Sparkling wine & nuun tasting would be fun too!
Wow, two things I like in one event: Nuun & Stone beer. Yum!! I would be lying if I didn’t say I’ve often used Nuun to help me recover from too much beer. LOL
I’m not much of a beer drinker either, but my hubs & I tourned a brewery in SC last summer. I was fascinated by the science that is actually behind it. It’s definitely more technical than I had previously thought.
Oh my gosh, I moved to California over a year ago, Stone Brewery was one of the first places that I visited. Amazing! I am excited to see this place on your blog!
Nuun has watermelon?! I’m a self-proclaimed Nuun addict.. this could be dangerous.

I am not a big beer drinker (despite what my recent blog post shows) but I love touring breweries/wineries. Looks like a fun time!

I’m sad I didn’t win the giveaway, but your trip looks fun. I’m not huge on beer either, but on our honeymoon we toured a bunch of microbreweries in Vermont and it was a lot of fun, strangely.

I introduced NUUN’s to my 16 year old son and he asked if there were any new flavors coming out, like watermelon or lemonade. I’m wondering if he’s working with NUUN on the side. Ha!
i think i saw him at the event but dont worry, we didnt let him drink any beer!

I love Stone! I used to go there a lot when I lived in San Diego. They have a really pretty beer garden.
I can’t wait to try the new Nuun flavors – I am definitely most excited for the watermelon flavor. Gotta have that caffeine!

Can’t wait for cherry limeade. I already turned this drink into my favorite alcoholic beverage (cherry vodka+sprite+lime) … I’m sure the Nuun version will be much better for me (and everyone else at work).

I didn’t think I was a beer drinker either until I tried some local craft beer. An ice cream float made with a chocolate porter or bock and some quality chocolate or vanilla ice cream is ethereal. Just the thing after a hard winter race or long run.
