Just a short treadmill run at the gym watching the news before church.
Last night our friends Katie and Merrick invited a bunch of people over for an end of the season holiday party with dinner and board games; we always have fun at their place, especially when someone pulls out the games.
So for the occasion I used my flat iron to curl my hair… from scraggly to less homeless-looking in about 20 minutes.
I’m getting my hair done in a couple days, and I need a trim like Paris Hilton needs a baby to keep up with Kim Kardashian and stay relevant new reality TV project. I always put it off because it takes about 2 hours to color my hair and once that’s done, I just want to get outta the salon and leave.
I bought the chambray shirt on clearance from Target for $8. It’s a size too big but for eight small ones, I’ll take it. I added some gorgeous accessories including black Pro Compression socks. They’re pretty much my dress socks now.
Katie (go check out all her different hair colors on her blog, she was even a redhead!) went to Outback Steakhouse recently and loved their gingerbread martini so she wanted to recreate the drink for our holiday party.
I think Merrick just found a recipe online, not sure, but here’s one that says it’s as close to Outback’s version as possible.
Besides appetizers and a big dinner, there was a serious spread of desserts with homemade peppermint cheesecake, apple pie, fudge, homemade cookies, chocolates, and ice cream. It was ridic.
And then we played Awkward Family Photos; have you seen the website? It’s hilarious. I knew of it but didn’t know there was a board game out. Katie and Merrick received it for Christmas and it was pretty funny.
Some of the pictures are so… stolen from my family’s albums awkward…
I bet the tree’s embarrassed for them.
Has anyone played Cards Against Humanity? I’ve heard that it’s hilarious but super inappropriate?
What’s your favorite board or card game? Play them or not at all?
I’m usually not the one pushing to play them, but I should more often because I always have fun.
Did anyone else ever play a card game called Nertz? I used to play it with my grandma when I was little and loved it.
