WORKOUT -
(Christmas)
Ran outside in the rain early -
7.5 miles/1:05
Yesterday – REST
(today)
Ran on hotel TM -
7.25 miles/60 mins
All of my workouts lately have been an hourish long easy runs, some in rain, some on the treadmill, nothing difficult.
It’s been light on the blogging around here because I’ve been terrorizing my family and everyone else in town, I mean, enjoying the holidays with those I love.
But here’s a few photos from my phone that I’ve snapped over the past week; you might have seen a couple of them on instagram (skinnyrunnersr) or twitter since I’ve been updating them more regularly.
{Christmas morning rained out run with Elmer the dog}
{A couple days before Christmas my mom and I went into this tiny, hundred year old hardware store that had every product under the sun and was like going back in time. The cash register was a calculator and prices were written with a Sharpie on scraps of paper and taped onto products. not joking.}
{Birthday tulips from my boo with a side of uglyface}
{The little hotel gym I’ve been running in}
{The narrowest treadmill in the world? The best part was that it kept shocking me whenever I touched it. awesome.}
{A flooring sample from Home Depot; my mom wants to put hardwood flooring in her home so we checked some out. She wants a rustic, beachy, worn-in look – this was actually a laminate that looked crazy real.}
{Decorating Christmas cookies for Santa with my nephews… all of the tragic ones with too much frosting were actually done by me. embarassing.
LOVE LOVE LOVE those kids so hard.}
{Lil Christmas present for someone… not me.}
{Marni in her embroidered snow jacket}

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas (both belated!) – the flowers are beautiful and I love Marni’s coat
No such thing as TOO MUCH FROSTING!
Glad you’re having a wonderful time with your family
We have that same tv and my BF is in love with it
I think the over frosted cookies are the best btw
My first job ever was doing inventory in a hardware store like that. I was probably 11 and got paid $2 an hour (in cash). Ah, rural America.
Someone got lucky with that tv, nice!
I didn’t read the caption yet and I wondered to myself if it was just me that the treadmill looked so narrow!
That is the narrowest treadmill I have ever seen! I’m positive I would trip and fall within the first 5 or 2 minutes! I’d also be scared to run on a treadmill that was shocking me!
That TV is my husband’s dream. It would take up an entire wall, but he wants one.
I love getting shocked by electronics. I used to have headphones that would shock me constantly.
My treadmill does the same thing!! (I proactively smack the metal bits every few seconds so it doesn’t catch me off guard.)
Ouch! The treadmills at my gym have been own to shock me THROUGH MY EARS if I wear my iPhone headphones. Not cool!!
I got shocked by a treadmill at the gym once and had visions of some urban-legend type story of being electrocuted. Vivid imagination I have. Actually, I’m pretty sure that was the last time I ran on a treadmill at the gym before canceling my membership…
A treadmill that shocks you sounds scary! Be careful…
Hahaha… a super narrow treadmill that shocks you… that’s one way to wake up in the morning!
Glad you enjoyed that family time! That’s so weird the treadmill was shocking you, kind of freaks me out. What an evil little machine.
Happy (belated) birthday and christmas! Love the boots you are wearing in the pic of you holding your beautiful flowers. Where did you get them ~ I have been looking for a pair like that?
Wow-that is a super narrow treadmill!
Who was the ‘small’ gift for?! Did your husband get it ?
Decorating cookies is one of my favorite holiday traditions! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
That is one narrow treadmill.
Um…. the sweater? AWESOME!
Love decorating cookies! I always liked putting those sugary things on there that taste like fireballs. Enjoy the holidays!
A shocker of a treadmill?? Such things are news to me! It actually sounds kind of fantastic.
Quick question – do you just pay a small fee to use a hotel’s gym/treadmill? I think this is something I would like to invest in at some point this winter. The thought never crossed my mind!
happy birthday!! i’m glad u’re able to enjoy some quality time pestering all those loved ones.
the jankiest treadmill i ever ran on was weirdly short and i was afraid i’d fall off the back and it also was jerky, i’d be running along and then all of a sudden the belt would slow way down or suddenly speed up crazy fast…it was like playing russian roulette of sorts. lol
Look at those cookies! That’s my fav pic from this post.
The treadmill shocking is KILLING me!!! I dread everytime I go to change the speed (every 5 minutes for 6-12 miles), my hair is standing on end (no kidding) after a mile in. I was wondering today if it could really hurt someone? I shed my fleece to see if that helped and started using my water bottle to push the buttons and that seemed to help! Good luck!
OK I’m glad its not just me with the treadmill shocking. I was starting to think all my gym’s treadmills were out to get me
We haven’t had a TV in weeks (ours broke and we’re waiting on the manufacturer to replace it), and now I realize, that we do in face NEED it.
*in fact, but kind of also in our face too.
happy bday again, I like dragging out the birthday process extra long!
you always know which cookies are mine when my family decorates cookies because they are basically all frosting. the cookie part is merely a vehicle for the frosting!
Aww those cookies look great!!
I dig the photo dumps. Keep it up!
Also, you have a lot of love in your life with all these flowers. Lucky girl!
Love the Christmas cookies you decorated with your nephews. Decorating Christmas cookies with my kids every year is my favorite long-standing holiday tradition!
