Today my friend Pam took me a birthday lunch at South Coast Plaza; thank you, Pam!
{Pam doesn’t have a blog, but you can find her on instagram at pamula2000 or on DailyMile here}
She is the sweetest person and sent me home with a bag full of candy for myself and the boy:
I had to break into the chocolate on the drive home – the pear, almond and dark chocolate is a random but good combo. really good.
By the way, have you read the January issue of Runner’s World about the 100 Mile Club? Pam is a volunteer and coach and her kids are in the club too!
Now we’re off to one more holiday work party.
As some of you have noticed and said, yes, I’m loving playing with my new hair tools from Hair Envy. I swear, I’ve done my hair more in the last 3 days than the past 9 months combined. Now if only I would go get it trimmed…
Talking about holiday parties and still fitting into your skinny jeans, I read a short article on Fitness about healthy holiday party eating tips; it said to not use working out as an excuse to pig out.
{From the Cupcake Girls}
The other no-no was to arrive at the party hungry and don’t try some of everything.
Steph also has a post on beating the holiday bulge; check out her tips here.
**Aspaeris (compression shorts) is having a HUGE sale on their current inventory – 60% off with the code FROSTYRUN.

I love the idea of the 100 Mile Club! I will have to see if there is one near me to get involved with.
Ugh and here I thought the post was about me?! hehehe I’m Candy.. lol
Pam needs her own blog! That way your friends become our friends vicariously thru the blog. LOL
100 Mile club Sounds like a great organization.
Party On!
Yeah, but that article is talking about exercising just to make up for overeating. I think most serious runners run enough that 1) we can afford to eat a little more and 2) we are pretty sensible eaters anyway.
I read that article about Pam! How cool.
Happy Happy Birthday!
Such pretty hairstyles!! Love them all
Thanks so much for putting my tips up, hope it helps some readers!!
love all the hairstyles — great to see you are liking your new hair tools. I think I need to learn how to do some curls.
The locks are GORG straight! I love them any way really, but wow, they’re just stunning when they’re so straight like that! Love.
Your hair always looks beautiful!!
You just reminded me that I have Runners World and Running Times to read! Christmas came early.
The Kidless Kronicles
Your hair is looking amazing lately. I think I need to venture into the world of flat irons, but I’m scared.
That goes completely against my first rule of parties, which is to arrive starving, and my second rule of parties, to try everything. My third rule is to have seconds of all the good stuff.
Aye aye…I’m with you on the second rule! Well, maybe minus the meat/seafood stuff since I’m vegan.
Amen to this. I just can’t not stay away from it ALL.
Your hair looks great straight!! Love it! This is a BAD month for my diet. Too many sweets! I need some of that Fitness advice.
your welcome mi amiga!! extra pickles for you & my lil’ shorty!!
you were looking muy bonita today chica!!
thanks for the shout-out regarding 100 mile club!! I’m fortunate to be part of such a great organization! I love seeing the kiddos out there & striving to meet their goals. Ryan is almost at 50 miles for the year!!
I’ve been on a mini-vacay for a couple of days, but I must have missed your birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope it’s a year full of nothing but health, love, laugher and smiles!!
Love your red jeans!!!
The curly hair looks great!
. Must try harder!!
I really struggle with the whole not working out and then pigging out thing. I ALWAYS use working out as an excuse to eat more…and then I wonder why I suffer with marathon weight gain
Thanks for the shout out for Aspaeris!!
Your hair looks awesome. If I ever left the house besides going to the post office, I might consider following your lead.
Happy Birthday, darlin!
I’m so lazy when it comes to my hair that I just keep it straight. I wish I could do something else with it!
thank you for posing the promo code! i have been wanting to try a pair of those compression shorts for over a year but couldn’t justify spending $60. i am now getting them for christmas from my mom! THANK YOU! they will make training for my second half marathon even better than the first.
True story: I was eating one day and my husband is like, “why are you eating, we’re about the leave for the party?” And I was all, “because I don’t want to pig out at the party.” He said, “You know you’ll do that anyway.”
Rude.
And true.
Being full does not stop me. Food needs to stop being so delicious.
Happy Birthday! Pam is just awesome
Love your hair straight!
Happy birthday–whenever it is!
I too don’t do my hair enough…whooopsies.
LOVING the hair. I made an appointment to cut mine and already regret it 2 weeks in advance. What am I thinking?!?
Love that you are now on instagram!!
Sigh. I miss South Coast Plaza. Even though I can only afford H&M, forever21, and Sears (which by the way, the big wigs at South Coast don’t consider Sears to be a part of the “South Coast Plaza Experience”).
Thank you! Thank you for the discount code for Aspaeris (compression shorts)! I have been waiting to get some. I just ordered the red ones.
