early morning, relaxed pace
Walked dog – 2.6 miles
Lately I’ve been staying up later and sleeping in a little later than my usual 6am wakeup call. But yesterday I set my alarm and hit the roads with the sunrise.
I almost forgot how peaceful it is to run when it’s quiet out…
…when the sun is rising…
…when there aren’t any cars out…
…when no one’s awake to pick up the change on the street before I do…
A George Washing piece. Black Friday, here I come.
This morning I did another early morning treadmill run. One of my favorite ways to beat boredom on the ‘mill is to start slow and speed up until you are sprinting at the end of the hour. original, probably not… but it makes the time go by faster.
I started at an 8:30 pace and kept going until I was crazy woman sprinting to the Nordstrom Half Yearly for the last minute to finish with 8.1 miles.
FACEBOOK, HA HA…JOKE’S ON ME.
You remember this cute lil thing, right?
Well, she’s at it again drawing another funny SR cartoon…
What makes this funny ironic is that I did finally start a SkinnyRunner Facebook page, but it’s definitely not causing Facebook any server shortages.
Check out Caitlin’s other SR cartoons (here and here) and her blog for all things running. Girl has great information, tips, inspiration, etc on her site.

OMG! That cartoon is so cute and so funny!!
I like to change the speed around on the treadmill to beat boredom, too… except I’ll make it a ladder by starting slow, speeding up and running the fastest in the middle, the slowing back down to the end.
finally!!!! now youre with it SR. Facebook to the rescue!
That cartoon is great! hahhahah!
I too get bored on the treadmill. Playing with the speed and incline is the only way to keep myself going during an indoor run.
Love the cartoon!
OMG this is hilarious!!!
I always use an incline too
It’s the only way!
ahahhahah the FB pic is hilarious… I didn’t realize she did other cartoons of you too. I love Caitlin’s blog! She’s a sweetheart!
A quarter is serious cash, I get excited when I find pennies!.
Weird that I went running and found spare change for shopping too! I put it in my butt pocket and jingled all the way home.
I admire those of you who can run on the dreadmill. I live in South Dakota and I’d rather put ice picks on my shoes and run in -20 than get on a tm for a mile.
Then again I don’t mind when someone is there running with me. Another odd factor considering I always run alone and usually without tunes and preferably at night.
Cute cartoon series
I feel you though. I have a fraction the likes on my Fb page than I do on Twitter and the hits on the blog. Guess I need to put a sign on it?
p.s – I always stop for silver. it adds up faster.
That’s a good idea for a treadmill workout. I need something to keep me distracted and challenging
LOVE caitlin, she is so creative AND talented…
I prefer Twitter over Facebook. Sadly, everyone else seems to be the other way around.
But seriously, it took me a year to get that many likes on Facebook. Rock or run on! Whichever you prefer.
One time my running partner and I found $100 on our way to the track early in the morning. It “pays” to run early!
Funny cartoon!
I do the same thing on the treadmill – start around 8:00 min/mile and end at 5:00 min/mile – always makes the time go by quicker than steady pace!!
Caitlin is funny. Uber funny and her blog is peppered with great advice – stumbled upon it when she commented on my blog and from your blog.
yes she has GREAT running advice!
True, true, Caitlin is funny and so darn nice.
i LOVE that cartoon, it is so clever and hilarious!!
