Tonight I’m headed out to Vegas for the Ragnar Relay Vegas event.
It’s a 200 mile relay that our ultra team of 6 girls will be running – we start at the Mount Charleston ski resort and end up at Lake Las Vegas.
This year’s Ragnar Relay Las Vegas course is even more scenic and runner friendly than ever. Teams start at the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort on Mt. Charleston and run down from 8500 feet into the valley below, taking in the views and conquering the challenging terrain.
{We went out to Lake Las Vegas in May; it’s a beautiful area but kinda weird in a ghost town sorta way.}
So I finally got packed up this afternoon after I put it off all day yesterday and just marinated in my bad mood instead. really productive.
Got the gear for my three legs all bagged up , ShowerPill body wipes, and Mizuno Wave Rider 15s:
The weather is going to be cold at the start (8500 feet elevation) and at night so I packed a couple long sleeve shirts that I can wear running or during down time. I also packed a sweet pair of orange sweats (brand new from Goodwill for only $6!) and a heavy sweatshirt.
Also threw in a beanie, visor, running gloves and my Compex unit (this is the one I have).
All packed up and ready to go in my floral tote from Thankfifi. I love this thing because it fits so much stuff and is super easy to keep clean.
By the way, my husband hates when I wear compression socks with these flats… long hair don’t care because these are the most comfortable shoes around.

Lake Las Vegas? Weird.
Sorry, Jaymo, just being fashion forward
Can I be a complete novice and ask about the wipes? I’m guessing you clearly use these because you won’t be getting a shower anytime soon after the race? Or just to minimize feeling nasty between legs? Or…?
they’re just to clean up and wipe your sweat off after each leg.
Hey!! I started reading your blog fairly recently and am totally amazed how quickly you recover in between marathons!! I ran my first marathon on October 28 and felt like I needed to take at least a week off from running afterwards to recover mentally and physically. How do you run marathons without the normal pre-marathon taper or post marathon rest? You’re awesome…tell me your secrets!!
I love my TB flats too! Have a great time!
Lennie HATES compression socks in general. If I wear them with short/skirt running, he will insist I change before going out to breakfast with him. RUDE, right?
I bought that blue long sleeve running top you have on from Road Runner Sports! I absolutely love it! It’s so soft and great for casual wear, too! Good luck in your relay!
yes, i love it!
Have fun at the Ragner! I just did the RTB Relay a few weeks ago and had a blast. Those Shower Pill wipes are a lifesaver.. saved me from stinking up the van haha
lol! I’ve been dying to say long hair don’t care! I just don’t know why I’ve been putting it off! No longer! I will say long hair don’t care!
Hope you travel safely! Good luck!
I love TB flats!!!!
Good luck! I can’t wait to read the updates from all of you.
The Kidless Kronicles
Good luck this weekend! I wear compression socks with everything. If it makes my legs feel better, I couldn’t care less how I look in them. I’ve worn them under jeans, with short skirts, to the grocery store…you name it, I’ve done it. NEED those sneakers by the way! They’re on my list for my shoe rotation next month
Good luck to you all & have fun!!
My husband thinks my new compression sock obsession is cute. I casually mention last night how I wanted to get the argyle sock this month and he said to go for it. (and recently I posted here that I thought I’d have to hide that purchase from him!) Needless to say I jumped on their website & placed that order STAT…just in case he changed his mind.
My husband probably wouldn’t know the difference. Socks and sandals are acceptable in Alaska–and since he lives in an igloo here–he probably wouldn’t know the difference anyway. And a shout-out to the Salty Dog Saloon.
Good luck friend! Have fun!!!!! I’ve been sulking around in my bad mood too if that makes you feel better. He he. Love the compression sock/shoe combo.
Good luck and have fun!! P.S Love your organisation – totally going to steal that idea!
Hah! Just 1 bag? And a smallish one! Wow, you do know how to pack! If it was me…
Good luck to you and all the girls, hope you have an AMAZING time!
Can I just say that my legs are tired just reading your blogs? I can’t believe how much you have run in the past few days! Good luck this weekend! The course seems really cool and your speedy team is bound to dominate
I’m sure Tory would be proud.
i agree.
Yesssss! Long hair don’t care!!!!! Love!!!
Rock the race!
Love, love the purple shoes!!! I’m sporting my pink and aqua Waves today! Have a great time with the relay – I think that would be a total blast – guess I should try one sometime!!
Have fun!
Have fun!!! Admit it, him saying that just makes you want to wear that combo more often doesn’t it? Or wait am I the only immature one like that…
Good luck on your relay! Love your shoes despite the socks! Tell your husband that the combination makes for a happy(ier) wife?
I aspire to be able to pack as light as you! One bag for the whole weekend?! I’m seriously impressed.
I want some TB flats! Who says you can’t be like a grandma and wear socks with shoes? Er, wait….I think they wear knee-highs….Same thing!
Whew, I’m impressed because my TB’s are probably the most uncomfortable shoes in the world! I can wear them for long periods of time, but it’s hard to walk in them for a long time! I love your gold ones though, I have the black ones and have always wanted the gold!
Good luck in the relay!
Good luck with your relay! Look forward to your updates on it…
You are super organized… :c) Love that large tote and it holds it all!
Have fun!
LOVE the socks + TB flats!
I am a new reader of your blog and you have inspired me to buy my first pair of compression socks. I am looking forward to seeing how they feel and if I notice a difference during my run. Good luck with the relay!
LOL, my husband hates it when I wear compression socks and capris and leave the house to go out in public like that. But..I don’t care. I’m recovering!
