Crappy Mood Food

by SkinnyRunner on November 7, 2012

I’ve been in the worst mood all afternoon.

I think it’s because I have a ton of crap to do before leaving tomorrow night and I’m not getting any of it done because I don’t feel like it.

tough predicament.

Even receiving a magnum of wine from the friendly FedEx man this afternoon didn’t flip my frown.

wine

{I put it next to a light for size reference, but after looking at it, I’m pretty sure it did absolutely nothing.}

So I’m focusing on last week in happier times, but to be honest, what time with cheap margaritas isn’t a happy time?

Last week one night we drove down to San Clemente to go to La Siesta Mexican restaurant.  We didn’t go on a Tuesday, but supposedly their $1 Taco Tuesdays are the best thing in the universe or so the man says.

001 (800x450)

la siesta

It’s kinda hole-in-the-wall but not too much so maybe more like crack-in-the-wall?  Either way, it was good food, super fast service, and relatively cheap.  just like my date.

salad

For $9.25, the combo salad with grilled chicken was awesome. and huge.  I ended up taking half home and if you know me IRL (I’m sorry for you), I can put a hurt on some salad.

stinkerella

The hus even thinks their margaritas are better than Chili’s which is sacrilege to say in our household.

I had a skinny margarita that was served in a martini glass which sorta confuses me.

Quick question: anyone have a Samsung Galaxy S3 or a HTC EVO?  I’m thinking of going to Sprint and thinking of getting one of these phones…

I have the Samsung galaxy. It’s awesome! I switched from an iphone. But I must state that an iphone is user friendly than an android. But I think androids have better features. You just need to be patient and learn them.

Crappy mood, eh? I’ve been in the worst of moods since last night. I’m not going to be one of those turd blog trolls that go on a diatribe on other people’s blogs as if anyone would care…but I’d say nearly 50% of the country is also in a crappy mood right now, too. :(

I have heard great things about the galaxy but personally I can’t part with my iPhone. And yes, margaritas fix everything :)

Either one is a good pick. The EVO is older (not that it really matters), but I would probably pick it over the S3 because I feel like the S3 is just HUMUNGO!

I totally go for salty Mexican when I am in a crappy mood. Nothing like starting with chips ‘n salsa before diving into something cheesy, heavy, and possibly fried…just to crack a half smile. ;-)

I’m convinced that Taco Tuesday at the Rosa’s near my house is the reason I’m not getting in better shape. $3.99 for three tacos (soft or hard, beef or chicken) with rice and beans and all the condiments you can pile in there. It’s crazy busy in there but I’ll elbow an old lady to get at those tacos.

Good luck on your next race and I hope you get in a better mood soon! Thanks for the Pro Compression code; I picked up two pairs of argyle socks!

I had an EVO and it was okay. I love my iPhone (4s) that I got after the EVO a lot more! I’m also on Sprint.

We have a restaurant that does Taco Tuesdays and it’s the best! I always meet my girlfriends there for dinner. They offer $1 tacos and $1.50 margaritas for dinner on that night.

I had an EVO Shift (with the keyboard) and liked it.

My bff has the galaxy with sprint and watching movies on it is just awesome and its fast- a whole lot better then my blackberry torch, which isn’t saying a lot. His service with sprint seems to be ok. The martini/margarita glass thing confuses me too.

I wish I had a margarita! And I’m in a good mood, but I have a toddler so margaritas are always welcome;). I had an iPhone then switched to evo (loved it) and now I have the galaxy. I loved the evo but I’m getting used to the galaxy and liking it. Go with what’s cheaper.
And I received my shirt yesterday! So cute! A little big but makes me look like a skinny runner. Ha jk.

ahhh…must be “crappy mood Wednesday”…I’m in! not gonna go there tonight because it might just indicate I “have a problem” but you might try the Bud Light Lime-a-Rita sometime…they’re pretty much a cheap margarita in a can. Oh, and I have an iPhone…grandfathered in on the AT&T unlimited data plan…pretty much spent a week by the pool and beach in Maui watching netflix on it! AT&T doesn’t always have the best coverage though…they NEED to get that issued figured out!

As for the margarita, it could be in a teacup. A margarita is a margarita, as long as it’s mixed right.

Hope tomorrow is better for you.

Another vote for the Galaxy III. I have and love this phone. Before it I had the Galaxy I and also loved that. This is the first phone to be a real iPhone competitor, a big reason is because they are calling it the same name with all of the carriers. It was also hard to get when it was first released late this summer. It wasn’t available online and stores were selling out before they received them in-stock.

Good luck in Vegas!

I 100% DETEST the Android operating system, as it is designed entirely for someone who wants to play instagram and angry birds all the time. Terrible for anyone who wants to get work done, or, heaven forbid, make a phone call. But I think it really does matter what you are mainly using your phone for.

I have had both of those phones, they’re both great – you can’t go wrong. I had the galaxy first, it has a ‘prettier’ interface for texting. I have the htc one x now and love it – it’s a bit faster and seems a bit smarter than the galaxy, the big screen is pretty too.

Samsung according to friends although I personally use a Blackberry.

I’ve been in a funk, crappy and bear mood for the last 3 weeks (popped a hip flexor and have not been able to run, workout or even mount the stairs without help). It’s affecting everyone around me and yesterday, I broke down completely. It was so tiring keeping up the pretense and feelings.

Love my Samsung Galaxy S3. It’s da’bomb – for reals, yo! (Oh man, somebody stop me; not sure where that came from…) Anywho, yeah, love this phone, it has amazing features and beautiful screen quality and I love that the screen picture is the size of the phone. When I purchased I had been considering an iPhone but hated the crappy small size of the screen. Boo to Apple. Although I guess I should make the disclaimer that I was previously using a seriously ghetto older Sony Ericsson model that would have made a piece of poo sound like a serious upgrade. That thing was useless with a capital U. OK, so the only thing about my old phone is that it was small and easy to run with which was nice. This one, not so much. Not a biggie though… there’s still love in the air after three whole months of having it.

Highly recommend NOT getting the EVO. I replaced mine recently… after Sprint replaced it 3 times (the 4th time it stopped working things got aggressive and I cracked the glass… sprint won’t fix that :( ). The screen freezes/reboots and the charging port gets dislodged from the motherboard from charging it so Sprint has you buy a camera charger and take the battery out to charge it every time… until you cause a scene and then replace it… but then it happens again 3 months later. You get the point here…

I was in a super foul mood yesterday, too. A good, sweaty workout fixed it and I’m feeling much better today. Even better after I run and drink beer with my girls tonight.

I have the Samsung Galaxy SII, which I only went with because TMobile let me have it for free as opposed to $200+ for the SIII. I absolutely LOVE the phone and have been super happy with it. Then again, it probably didn’t take much to make me happy since I came from a Blackberry…

I do love that I can use the running apps so I don’t need a Garmin. The music player syncs with iTunes, so I don’t need an iPod. So, when I run, I have one device that takes care of it all. Yay!

I had the Evo when it first came out and upgraded to the Galaxy S3 when that was released. I absolutely love both phones. I personally would go with the Galaxy S3 since it is the newer phone and I believe is a tad faster. Plus it has a bigger screen, is thinner, and weighs less. Either way I don’t think you can go wrong with either phone from Sprint.

I just got the Galaxy s3 after much deliberation (couldn’t decide between an iPhone or this one). My last — and first — smart phone was the HTC Desire and I LOVED it. After spending a week with a friend who has the Galaxy and reading a bunch of feature reviews, I decided that for my needs (call sound quality, maps/navigation, battery life) the Galaxy was the smarter choice.

I’m very happy with it. No doubt, the phone is HUGE, but the screen is lovely and it still fits nicely in my back pocket.

The biggest issue I see with Android phones in general is getting used to how the thing works. I thought my learning curve would be relatively gentle based on the fact that I had an Android phone before, but while most reviews indicate that Samsung hasn’t messed with Android too much on the Galaxy, there still seem to be a lot of Samsung-specific “features” that can sometimes make using the phone for basic functions seem more cumbersome than necessary. Part of circumventing that is just finding the right feature or setting to activate/deactivate, which can take a bit of time.

Overall, I love the Galaxy. The call sound quality is very good (not great), the navigation system is shockingly good, texting is super easy, the large screen makes navigating through menus and apps an absolute joy, and the camera is probably the best camera I’ve ever had. On the downside, I’ve been disappointed with the battery life. I’ve installed a couple of apps that are supposed to help extend the battery life and it has gotten better, but I still find myself needing to charge the phone every night.

Here’s a decent comparison of the Galaxy s3 and the EVO & One X: http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/samsung-galaxy-s3-vs-htc-one-x-htc-evo-4g-lte/

I used a digitaltrends review to help me decide between the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy and everything they had to say about the Galaxy was pretty much on target. I should add (because I clearly haven’t said enough) that I never even considered the EVO because my understanding is you can’t remove the battery or add an SD card if you want to increase storage and if I got an Android I wanted to have those capabilities. You can do both with the Galaxy.

Good luck!

I have the Galaxy S3, and love it. The size is real easy to adjust to. I went from a Galaxy S (Captivate), 4″ screen phone to this and the transition was real easy. I’m a pretty heavy user on it and my battery lasts 15-20 hours. The biggest drain on the GS3 is the screen. It takes a lot of battery to power the super amoled screen.

One thing I would recommend is changing the launcher from TouchWiz (Samsung’s stock launcher) to Nova Launcher. There are a lot more features, and it can be setup more to your liking.

With either phone, the resolution is better than the iphone, however the iphone retina display has 326 ppi (pixles per inch), and the Evo LTE has 312 ppi, and the GS3 has 306 ppi. There isn’t a whole lot of difference. Pictures will be very sharp on the screen.

Good luck with your venture into the world of android superphones!
