What time is it? PIZZA TIME!

by SkinnyRunner on November 4, 2012

Had a great race with some fun homies this morning at the Santa Clarita Marathon.

race

I ran a 3:17:41 and came in second for the women.

Now it’s time for my good friend to make me her famous thin crust pizza!  Her recipe is top secret and from a relative and IT IS AMAZING.  so worth running a marathon for.

When you’re with us, you have bubbly.  law.

champagne

Have a great Sunday!

Awesome!!!! Way to go 2nd :) Also, I think everyone should have a friend like Reese! How is her back coming along?

Reply

SkinnyRunner November 4, 2012 at 6:18 pm

she actually goes to the dr tomorrow to find out if she can take her brace off or needs surgery.

Reply

Susan November 4, 2012 at 7:55 pm

Positive thoughts to Reese: no surgery!

Krista November 5, 2012 at 8:43 am

What exactly did she do to her back? I’m having back issues, a bulging disc, and the S word has been mentioned. Terrifies me! But this pain is no joke either.

SkinnyRunner November 5, 2012 at 8:57 am

she broke her back in a boating accident.

Congrats again on your race today, that pizza and bubbly is well-deserved! I hadn’t read your last couple posts to see you were running SC but I was hanging out after my HM under the tent at the finish line with my running club friends when I noted the speedy blonde marathoner with big sunglasses and pink PRO compression socks and knew it had to be you ;) Enjoy the night with your friends!

While I have no doubt that you would have stepped up and volunteered if you had gotten stuck in NY, grabbing second place and a great finish time is certainly worth not being able to run the NYCM. Great job SR– enjoy that bubbly and pizza.

Mmmm. Now I want pizza.
And bubbly.

Girl, you are incredibleee.

Just think what your new PR is going to be when you take a little bit of time to taper….I see a 3:10 in your near future (and then sub three soon after that, on the right course!)

Okay, you always look super hot even after running a million miles. I know you’ve said that you wear makeup during races, and I’ve also seen that you use clinique makeup usually…. is it clinique that you wear during the races? I want to stop looking like a swamp monster during my races, but I sweat buckets and so I don’t know what makeup to use! Please help a girl out!

Reply

SkinnyRunner November 5, 2012 at 5:58 am

yes i wear clinique but i think its most important to first wear a sports sunscreen and then put on a makeup primer. it really helps your makeup to stay on your face. then finish with powder to set it.

it was so nice to meet you! i was the starry-eyed asian girl who came up to you before the start. i was totally geeked out, it definitely made my race! i somehow slogged through miles 23 to the finish in the heat (with a PR!) , repeating “don’t stop don’t stop” out loud. and you actually did respond to my email about ny, but it was sent to my spam and now i feel like a jerk :( congrats on another strong finish!
