50 shades of pink

by SkinnyRunner on November 4, 2012

Yesterday I signed up for the Virtual Run for Hurricane Sandy Recovery.  I saw it on Lora’s blog and since I’m running a marathon today, I thought, why not join in?

It’s a great way to raise money for the Red Cross and do something, even if it’s just donating $10 and running with intention and purpose.

Check out her blog for full details and more information, but here is a little of what I copied and pasted:

How to participate

  1. Run a race of any distance the month of November. There are TONS of fun holiday races this time of year so grab a friend (or two!) and sign up.
  2. Register for the Virtual Race for Hurricane Sandy here.
  3. Pledge your donation (a minimum donation of $10 requested) here. ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to the Red Cross.
  4. Tell all of your friends that you are participating and invite them to join us, too.
  5. Run your race and tell us how you did! Make sure to send us pictures.

COLORS OF THE DAY: PINK

I had all my gear laid out last night for an early 4am wakeup call this morning: (I put it in the hallway so I wouldn’t wake up the husband; wife of the year over here)

015 (704x800)

*sparkly pink BIC band (sale coming tomorrow to benefit hurricane relief!)

*new 26.2 Apparel tank in tie dye (it’s on sale for $15 right now, super steal)

*pink Pro Compression argyle socks (a sale on these babies is coming asap too)

*pink Mizuno Wave Rider 16 – major shoe love going on right now between me and the 16s.

*26.2 Apparel running shorts – the only running shorts I own

*pink Moving Comfort Fiona sports bra

film

After the race I’m headed over to my friends house in LA to catch up and hang out with my college girlfriends.  Today will be a great day!

Off to do #38

The virtual race for relief efforts seems like a great idea. I’m running in a gobble gallop on Thanksgiving Day so I’ll have to do the virtual race too!

What size do you wear in the 26.2 tank? I like it but have never tried that brand before.

SR I love that you apply 1 Timothy 4:8 to your relationship with God as well as your love for running! I do the same thing with 1 Corinthians 9:24-27… love it

It suddenly hit me that you said “#38″ – that is insane! In a good way! Thirty eight marathons!!!
I love the tank – might have to buy it, although I did just spend all my money on vacation, haha.

Thanks for the info in the running tank, I am always looking for new ones and this one is a great deal.

Great job on the race. By the way I just noticed your scripture verses with each of your pre-race posts , very cool.

Love this racing outfit so much! I just ordered the tank because it’s rad and such a good deal. Thanks for the heads up! Also, thanks for posting about Lora’s virtual race. As a New Yorker, it’s so amazing to see so many people all over the country caring about what happened here and donating their hard earned money to help those hit hardest. Also, congrats on your marathon yesterday!!!
