Yesterday I was invited to a breakfast at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood hosted by Goldfaden MD skin care.
And because I’m a celeb stalker, it’s of utmost importance that we see some celebs at Cecconi’s, no? priorities, people.
{Bono and Paul McCartney, not there yesterday, sadly}
Anyways, Goldfaden MD was started by Dr. Gary Goldfaden, a dermatologist for over 40 years, and now his daughter Lisa and daughter-in-law Lauren and son are part of the business.
Their claim to fame is Goldfaden MD is the “first dermatologist developed natural skincare brand.”
They’re all about natural, simple products that deliver results without all the additives. It was funny to hear Lisa talk about how growing up, they weren’t allowed to eat sugar and were eating tofu and salmon before it was ever popular because her father was so dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle.
The 7 product skincare line is not designated organic, but they use organic ingredients as much as possible and are “paraben-free, petrochemical-free, no animal testing, mineral oil-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, gluten-free, 100% vegetarian, and hypo allergenic”.
{Our table in the private dining room}
While we ate breakfast, we learned about each of the seven products.
The smoked salmon was delicious, nice and salty, but the coffee was lukewarm so I acted like a diva and threw it at the waiter. I’m joking; I would never waste coffee like that.
The products from what you should start with:
Doctor’s Scrub to exfoliate – if you have oily skin (yup, over here) you can use it everyday. Loved the texture of it.
Pure Start – cleanser that has botanical extracts to clean and balance skin out.
Radical Difference – serum with organic red tea extract, cherry extract and hyaluronic acid. I want to try this because I get all excited about serums thinking they’re going to change my life.
There’s two different moisturizers:
Vital Boost – an everyday moisturizer for uneven skin tone with vitamin D, organic red tea, and gooseberry extract.
Wake Up Call – an overnight cream with all the heavy hitters: CoQ10, DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, retinol, organic red tea, avocado oil, grape seed oil and vitamin E.
Bright Eyes – eye cream with soy peptides, vitamin K, rice bran extract, jojoba oil, and organic red tea.
Needle-Less – line smoothing concentrate with pure hyaluronic acid ad acetyl-hexapeptide 3 to plump, tighten and smooth skin.
I haven’t tried any of the products beyond putting them on my hand yesterday, but I loved the texture of the Doctor’s Scrub. It was so fine without being gritty; Lauren said it was her favorite product and that they use ruby crystals in it. oooh la la fancy.
You can get all the products at their website or dermstore, and the prices range from $32 for the Pure Start cleanser to $115 for the Needle-Less, definitely pricier.
And because my life is all about me, this is what I wore, rocking the JC Penney top:

Fancy schmancy event. I love a good facial scrub!
Seriously….how does one get invited to something like this?!?!?!
Totally jealous. I bet you got the best goody bag ever!
they just emailed me, at the least the pr company did. it pays to be have a sucky blog
Love your look! You always have the world’s best jeans – I find jeans shopping so hard.
I need something for an increasingly oily face as well!
Looks like a sweet event. Also you look like you’ve got some rockstar hair going on! Cute outfit.
You’re so fancy!
I may just have to give Dr. Scrub a try! I’ve been looking for a good scrub for a while.
P.S. Your jeans are amazing!
Are those peekaboo heels? Too cute. How much did you run before you had to squeeze into those?? I’d be a bit shaky.
they’re actually not heels but prada wedges, so the comfort factor was pretty decent.
Details, please! I am looking for comfy, cute, dressy, neutral wedges.
i bought them on sale at neiman marcus but they are all sold out, here are neiman’s sale wedges: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/etemplate/et1.jsp?itemId=cat980731&N=4294914335&siloId=cat980731
Ok you have been invited to some cool stuff before but my sister would die for this one – she is a product crazed little girl. I might tell her to skip reading your blog today….
That is right up my alley because I’ve cut out all products with parabens and don’t like to support cosmetics companies that test on animals.
But too bad I’m cheap (I mean until it comes to a $110 race entry fee) and will likely not shell out that kind of $$$.
Denise, I told a co worker yesterday that Clinique and Mary Kay just started testing and I have to find new companies and she said, “first world problem…”. Yes. Whatever we imagine the world we want to see then we live it to the best of our ability. ~My best friend said this. She’s a smart woman.
What a great event!! Will have to check these products out.
Their products sound AWESOME, and cray expensive.
What a great gig to get invited to! Were there other bloggers there?
there were other bloggers and some freelance writers and people who work for beauty companies and magazines, a big ol mix of people.
Let me know how the eye cream works out – have been hunting something for my panda eyes (aka dark circles) and looks-like-coming-on wrinkles (hope not!).
I’ve never heard of this brand but sounds fancy. I am a huge fan of new products and always looking for something to work with my sensitive skin.
I have that same shirt! I love the little bunnies mixed into the print. It was a total JCP score!
Um… I really hope you were kidding about throwing coffee at the waiter…
do you really think i would throw coffee at someone?! i dont think we can be friends if you think that.
You get to go to the neatest stuff!
