Thanks to Garmin and Pro Compression, I have a brand new Garmin Forerunner 10 that one of you lucky ducks is going to win.
The 10 is Garmin’s newest watch that was just released, and it might be backordered, I’m not sure. Kristina, who I ran with on Saturday, just ordered the pink one.
You can read my review of the 10 here, but it’s a nice, simplified version of Garmin’s other GPS watches.
My homies at ProCompression are hosting the giveaway so this is how it’s going down:

Bummed…I just tried to order a pair of calf sleeves …I had been wanting to try a pair and this was the push/incentive I needed…however, the XS is not available!! ;-(

Crap, same here, Kathy. I have the calves of an eight year old and totally need an extra pair.

i actually gave 2 pairs to a nurse friend of mine (my moms bestie) for that very reason and she loved them during a long work day.

Has anyone else from Canada (Nova Scotia) had trouble ordering? Does anyone have experience with the sizing of these? I’ve had my eye on a pair for some time, but am not sure if I should go with the SM or LXL… I wear a size 11 or 12 in women’s, which puts me solidly in LXL, but I have pretty narrow feet and I just don’t want them to be too big and not do anything.

Johnna, If your calf is larger then 15 inches in circumference go with the LXL if it is smaller go with the SM. If you have any more questions send us a email and we will help you out. cs@procompression.com
Hi – I’m a 11 – 12 with smaller calf muscles. I went with small and make sure I wash on cold and hang dry and they fit great. I couldn’t decide either.

It is illegal to have a sweepstakes with winner chosen by chance if you are obligated to purchase something to be entered- illegal private lottery.
Seems to me its kind of like buying a raffle ticket with a chance to win or not…I love PRO Compression…its a great deal at 40% off and it gives me a chance to try the sleeves that I have been dying to try but didn’t want to pay full price…now I get a discount and a chance to win a Garmin..

I’m not a lawyer but it seems to me that because Garmin isn’t directly benefiting by having people buy ProCompression gear, the sweepstakes cannot be classified as an illegal private lottery.

Sadly, I think Erin is right. I do think Sarah could have said this a lot better because 1) none of us know the whole story and maybe it somehow is legit, and 2) likely procompression has no idea about this tricky law.

If you like you like it tighter you will be ok getting a XS it will just be a little shorter then the SM.

i think its more like normal shirt sizes or something. i wear the s/m and most of my friends who have them wear the same. unless you are short and have shorter legs or really taller, id say a lot of people would be s/m.

Oh wow. I would LOVE a new Garmin. Our old 305 (which is so big it doubles as an arm weight) is slowly dying, probably due to all the sweat and overuse. My hubby and I share custody of this Garmin, neither one of us shares well, he usually forgets to charge it and I have a habit of changing all the settings on it just to annoy him. In any case, a new Garmin would restore peace to the house because I would take the new one and hubby can have the 305!

Ahh! The sleeves are out! Shoot. I found I prefer my socks and the compression sleeve, then just the compression sock. I guess my feet are use to my padded running socks.
I was soooo excited to run the Chicago Marathon next weekend… But after months of training, I recently sustained a stress fracture in my foot. My doctor said I can’t run the marathon and I could not be more bummed out – especially because the weather forecast looks absolutely perfect!!! I plan to boost my spirits by volunteering at the race instead but I’m not gonna lie, it sucks being sidelined and this Garwin would definitely give me a reason to be excited to start running again once I’m healed!
