Triple Twins

by SkinnyRunner on September 22, 2012

WORKOUT -

Ran the Back Bay Loop in Newport

18.15 miles/2:35

This morning I got up sinfully early to go run with 2 of my Ragnar Vegas Ultra-Awesome teammates: Sarah and Kristina.

001 (450x800)

Saw a beautiful sunrise…

007 (800x450)

Saw some SoCal beauties…

008 (449x800)

Sarah, Kristina and I did 18 miles together.  Besides RAGNAR Vegas, they’re both doing CIM.  Anyone else running that marathon in December?

I’ve been dreading the long runs lately so it was really nice to run with other people and talk the whole time.  Makes the time go a lot faster.  Plus, we went triple twins-style on accident…

009 (800x447)

Go Pro, baby.

I didn’t know how far we’d be going, I just knew I had to get up early so I got things ready the night before: a couple gels in my water bottle holder, water with a little Gatorade sample mix from a race, and the most important beverage of them all, coffee.

Recently Updated6

We finished our 18 with an average 8:35 pace and had a long run in the books by 9:15am.  love that.

Thanks for running with me, girls!

Dude the news on Amanda Bynes makes me sad. I was really rooting for her. I wish she would get help.

What are your thoughts on her SR?

OMG I would look like such a geeky heffer with those knee-hi socks on! But you all manage to rock it supermodel-style and I’m jealous of your pace so I might have to just geek out.

Amanda Bynes has gone off the rails. And what about Lindsay allegedly hitting a pedestrian in NYC? Goodyear offered the both of them driving lessons.

I know what you mean about dreading long runs. I LOVE running when it’s 10 miles or less, but anything more (especially during training) feels like a chore at times and I have to psyche myself up for it. It’s all worth it in the end though. No pain, no gain. :-)

I am lucky enough to have my buddies bike beside me while I run (I can’t convince any more than six miles out of anyone), and they dually serve as my company and personal fuel belts. ;-)

I love the socks, and really need to try them out before my marathon in November. I hear they do wonders for the legs.

I’m running CIM in December. It will be my first full marathon. Super nervous, but excited/ hopeful that I won’t die and will cross the finish line. Yikes. Scared to even think about it!

I’d totally kick her out of my spin class too. Applying makeup???? Wandering around would be enough to get her kicked out, as far as I’m concerned!

I’m so very interested in these Pro Compression socks! The measurements on the website – is that shoe size or calf size? I’m pretty sure I need these in my life.

SkinnyRunner September 23, 2012 at 7:58 am

they’re more just general sizes, like a shirt in s,m and l. i get the S/M size and most friends i know get the same.

I can’t believe that about A. Bynes. Good for KC for telling the press that she is not back to her pre-baby weight. Why is everyone so obsessed with looking like you never had a baby, like 2 weeks post-partum?! I need some Pro-compression socks. I am eyeing the orange!

I feel the same way. I had a 10 pound baby boy 9 years ago and I still have the huge stretch marks on my belly and I wouldnt change them even if i could. They are a reminder to me of my strength and the amazing child I brought into the world. my tiger stripes i call them :-) The world would tell me they are ugly and need to go. But i also know the world is ass backwards about mostly everything. :-)

I’m doing the CIM!! It’s my first marathon! They are so lucky they have eachother to run with. I wish I had someone to train with me!

Haley, do you live in Sacramento? I too am running CIM( my first full marathon also). I train with Fleet Feet. Maybe loom into finding a store near you. Good luck!!

CIM will be my first marathon! Can’t wait. I live in sac but I’m on vacation in so cal and I’m going to do a 12 mile run on the back bay loop tomorrow, thanks for the idea, it’s so hard to decide where to do long runs when you don’t live in the area.

Congrats on your 18-miler and the rockin’ pace! Whenever I am less-than-psyched about a run, I usually purchase some sort of new running apparel or accessory. Yes, it is an expensive little pick-me-up, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Running with people really does make the run go faster and make it more fun. I’m hoping that’s how it goes for my race this weekend!

Long runs are so much better with others!

I’m doing RnR Las Vegas in December. CIM would’ve been a more obvious choice for me to do since it is in my backyard (I live in Sacramento), but I think sometimes its more fun to go someplace new.

I did an 18-miler this weekend too!

I’m running CIM (7th year in a row)4 weeks after NYC, so I’m a little worried about tired legs, but didn’t want to miss the 30th anniversary.
A hint to 1st time CIM runners, there are some rollers in the first half, but the second half is pretty flat.
