Vacation Time

by SkinnyRunner on September 16, 2012

WORKOUT -

Ran on hotel TM -

10.0 miles/1:24

1.0 incline

relaxed, easier pace while watching more news.

Another morning in Paradise, another new sports bra.

Sports bra time:

Yesterday I tried out the Charity and today was the Moving Comfort Helena.

This one is really thin and lightweight and it has the adjustable straps, but the straps were a little itchy.  I think I like the Charity better.

But now Sierra Trading Post has a 25% off code on their site when you spend $75 if you wanna get in on some sales.

001 (800x433)

Headed to the gym at 6:30am and seeing the sun come up over the mountains, gorgeous:

005 (450x800)

Gym time:

023 (425x800)

{Sporting my neon Bic Band – this one is perfect for relays and running the night legs since it’s reflective and you can see it from the moon}

Pool time yesterday:

029 (800x450)

When I arrived at 10:45 the pool was dead, but it got busier later in the day although it was never crowded.  You know how at a Vegas pool you have to fight to the death, Who’s the Illest-style to get a free pool chair?  yeah, that didn’t go down here.

030 (800x448)

2012-09-15_1722

Poolside white sangria that was really good.  Need to make sangria at home.  Anyone have a good recipe that I can use to show off to my friends and look super cool?

The Happiest Hour time:

At 4 we left the pool and walked to the hotel’s Agave Sunset lounge for happy hour.

036 (800x398)

035 (800x445)

037 (800x450)

It’s a modern, open space with some good deals, way better than the pool bar!  We split nachos and I had a glass of wine.  a perfect pairing, no?

We had plans to go out to dinner to celebrate some work stuff, but we didn’t factor into our plans that we are old and lame.  We went back to the room to rest, ended up taking naps, skipping dinner and sleeping through the night.

It takes a special breed to be as wild and crazy as we are.

What team are you rooting for today?

I don’t even know who’s playing, but I do know that the dude’s all about it already.

I love that you are comfortable enough to post bra pics of yourself!

GO STEELERS!!! I have my FF stats pulled up on a second computer. My hubby asks every Sunday if I’m sure I’m a girl. :)

Panthers? Cardinals? And Diamondbacks.

As long as you and Jaymo had a good time, who else cares?

The Packers are my team, and they won Thursday! So today it’s the Titans because I’m in TN, but they are having a horrible game so far, only 10 minutes into the first quarter :-(

We’re Jets fans here, so that’s who I’m rooting for, but I’m not really watching the game, so I’m not sure it counts.

My friend’s mom makes the most amazing sangria. I really need to get her recipe.

You sound exciting like us! When we were in the Bahamas we fell asleep at 7pm our first day….slept through dinner until morning. Party animals!!!!!!!

I second, third and fourth the glorious abs. You go girl.

We are Giants fans here, but I watched the first quarter and then went shopping. They won so that must have been good for me not to watch.

The pool and gym look amazing.

Abs looking good SR! Keep it up! I’m looking for a new sports bra too, have you seen a MC bra with a crisscross back? I have so many racer backs and want a little variety.

For white sangria I do limes, lemons, and oranges with a bottle of pino grigio and some brandy. I add two cans of dry gingerale before serving.
I WAS rooting for my Saints but they lost, of course. That team needs a coach!

That was an identical play by play to the vacations me and the hub take. Our dinners usually start with an argument because I don’t feel like getting out of my robe so we settle on carry out or room service. And clearly by then I’ve changed into HIS sweats. ;-)

First, I have slept through dinner on a number of vacations! Makes me feel better than I’m not the only one under the age of 60 that this happens to. Second, rock on with your muscles! I totally need to start running more if that’s what will happen to my abs (maybe I should lay of the desserts too!) =)

Nice abs girl. Keep posting those pics, it just may inspire me to do something about my situation. :) After having a huge 10 pounder and carrying him all out front, I’ve got some serious stretch marks and extra skin. Enjoy those perfect abs while you can. I was nicknamed 6 pack in highschool and it wasn’t for drinking beer. :) I love that you and Jaymo are as lame as Kimball and I. We pretty much always get a table right away and sometimes get the matinee price if that tells you anything. :)

The best White Sangria recipe EVER is below. I’ve get many requests for the recipe at parties whenever I bring it.

Easy White Sangria

1 large bottle dry white wine (I use Barefoot Pinot Grigio)
1/2 cup Peachtree Schnapps
1 cup Lemonade
3 tablespoons of sugar
2-3 peaches, cut into chunks
1 lemon, sliced (be sure to remove seeds)
1/2 pint of blueberries
Sprite or seltzer

In a large pitcher, combine wine, schnapps, lemonade, and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add in fruit and give a good stir. Allow to sit in fridge overnight. Serve in a glass with lots of ice and a splash of soda.

We went to the beach for the night and I was trying to stay up until 9! I finally gave in and called it a night. I am such a party animal. I have no idea how I pulled all-nighters in my 20′s.

I found a delicious white sangria recipe over the summer. It used pear nectar along with the white wine and diced pears and apples with a splash of seltzer. so yummy!
