Ummmm, yeah. I walked my dog this morning then went to go run at noon and it just wasn’t happening.
My stomach was farting around on me and cramping up so I did what any mentally tough, hard working person would do: I quit. I started walking after 2 miles. I don’t think I’ve ever quit running after only 2 miles?!
It will most definitely not get me any closer to running a 3:10 marathon but there’s always tomorrow. Today’s for pretending like I’m a design star…
Y’all know I have a smartcar and I’m in LOVE with it which is why I post pictures like this:
smartcar must have heard about my dorky love for my little plastic box because they asked me to design a custom smart wrap along with 4 other bloggers.
I wanted my design to fit and express my blog and my easygoing, not at all serious attitude. I mean, when you see my 6’2” husband cruising around in a car that fits on top of a pool table with our 4 lb Yorkie sticking her head out the window, how can you possibly take that seriously?!

I chose my blog colors: hot pink and grey; I wanted to keep it lighter so I didn’t do any black, and grey is one of my favorite colors. And then we designed a fun, whimsical custom geometric print.
I like that it’s clean, simple and the print’s almost preppy. I’d sell my husband for this chair which was an inspiration:

Thanks for the chance to win! Also…I had a horrible run this morning too….also only ran for 17 minutes! Although, I’m slower than you, so it was only about 1.25 miles….it was rough out there with the sun beating down on me. Whew!
Sorry to hear about the crap run, that happens and usually results in a good run the next time around (from my experience). I can relate to the hot misery of summer, being in central TX. I get up really early so that regardless of the day of the week or length of the run, I finish by 8/8:30am. Maybe you could switch Marnie to a night time walk schedule. Anyways, it would be really nice to hear more about your sub 3:10 marathon goal, which is ambitious and awesome!
