Just stopping to say a quick howdy doody before my dog takes me for a walk.
And then I’m gonna take myself for a run since yesterday was an “implant myself on couch” rest day.
WINNING! AT LIFE
If you’re into winning free stuff, go check out Gina’s giveaway for a couple pairs of my favorite compression socks.
It looks like the purple socks are on sale only until the end of the month with the code SOM812.
I wore my purples ones running the Gansett Marathon and then my mom stole them from me. I’m working on forgiving her since she was my personal hydration specialist during the race…
{All about compression post}
I’M SMART, I PROMISE!
I have some fun news that I’ll tell you about this afternoon so check back to see how lame I am. Here’s a hint and the cutest USB memory key ever:
PLEASE DON’T STOP THE MUSIC
I’ve received a lot of emails recently about why I’m so dumb (“Baby, I was born this way.” Thanks, Gaga for help on that one) and what music I run to.
I actually haven’t run with music in months, since sometime before I left for Alaska. This post is all about why and how I started running without music.
Yes, that’s an actual silhouette of me… what perky buns I have!
Do you have a post, recent or older, that you want to share/are proud of/just plain like?
Include a link to it in the comments. It could be a race recap, a travel post, a product review, a totally sweet picture of yourself post, whatever.

Thanks for sharing the giveaway! And thank you so much for the chance to post a link here. That’s really sweet of you!
BTW, loved the photo of your mom running alongside you. That is so cool!

This one brings back good memories of a great trail run.

I’m doing a 40 mile mountain bike race (as a duo team-so not so bad)b followed by a half marathon in 4 weeks. I haven’t run more than 6 miles since my last full marathon in May. This should be an adventure.

Oh man, please tell me your husband got you the convertible smart car!
I blogged this week about getting kicked out of fitfluential. The post wasn’t crazy exciting, but the comments were amazing!

Back in June I posted for National Running Day and who/why I run!
http://mrscountrygirl.blogspot.com/2012/06/national-running-day.html
I have just recently stopped smoking and it’s because I’ve found my love for running. With the help of all the blogs I read daily I was motivated enough to end my pack-a-day habit. So follow me on my journey of becoming a better, healthier me. Below is a link to what my next race is.
http://renaenichole.blogspot.com/#!/2012/07/austin-outlaw-dash.html
In light of my second half marathon this weekend, I wanted to share the recap from my first half marathon. This is my first year of running really consistently and doing more than a 5k, and the half was my second race of the year and a very good learning experience on how not to run a race, especially mentally.
I guess I should post the link then, huh?

this is so fun! i finished my first Ironman in May and lived to tell the tale… http://growingupginsburg.com/2012/05/race-recap-ironman-texas/

A post about how my cravings went from sweet to salty & why: http://www.enjoyyourhealthylife.com/2012/08/23/from-sweet-to-salty/
This is a post about my first half, the Lululemon Sea Wheeze in Vancouver, BC. It was an awesome race. Part 1: http://therunaweighgourmet.com/?p=165
Part 2: http://therunaweighgourmet.com/?p=188
Do me a favor though and don’t read them until Sunday when my blog gets its makeover…right now its a little on the frumpy side and feels inferior to other pretty blogs
Just put in an order yesterday for the purple!
My post from today about rehab for my runner’s knee. Ever had the Graston Technique? Pure torture!

I have a post up about the oh-so-secret J.Crew warehouse store (not factory store, but WAREHOUSE store, like the real deal, not an outlet) in Lynchburg, VA (their headquarters.)
Check it out, yo. And take me when you go to the store. I’m always down for some new J. Crew steals.

The hardest part of a Saturday long run is not what you think:
http://fitfunmom.com/2012/08/18/saturday-long-run-musing/
i’m not really “proud” of it – but i opened up a bit about my dark days post baby delivery & how i’m not “super woman”.
http://www.fashionablyfitfemme.com/2012/07/fitness-fashion-thursday.html
maybe one day i’ll get around to blogging more regularly – but this whole work thing, mom thing, wife thing….sure is time consuming!
Here is a post from my most recent half-marathon (the Lululemon Sea Wheeze/Vancouver): http://rachaelpawlak.blogspot.com/2012/08/sea-wheeze-half-marathon.html. Any other lulu’s out there?
I’m not sure why I like this post so much, but for me it means a lot because I really really want to get to the point (once my IT band feels better) to start training for a marathon. It’s my ultimate goal and the entire reason I started a blog in the first place.
I’m a very motivated person and goal oriented as well so my injuries (2 IT band issues) have been frustrating to say the least. I usually like to keep my blog a little more care free with some sarcasm here and there, but this one is a little more serious.
http://theroadto26-2.blogspot.com/2012/06/62-miles-down-20-more-to-go.html
Thanks for the opportunity to share my blog!
(Also, do you and/or anyone else out there have any tips for IT band injuries other than rest, anti inflammatory’s, foam rolling, icing, and stretching?)
I have dealt with this injury a few times. It depends on how bad your injury is. If it’s really bad, then you should get ART (active release therapy). If it’s the beginning, what worked for me was rest (no running), foam rolling, and stretching.
I had to run without music this morning because the battery in my MP3 player was dead, and I didn’t realize it until I was already at the track. Wasn’t too bad at first, but I was really ‘needing’ some music around the 4 mile point.
Thanks for letting us link up a post!
12 Running Safety Tips for Women
Those purple socks looked great on you–bummer you “lost” them.
I never run with music outside, except for races. I mostly do it for safety reasons (there are lots of really bad drivers where I live), but I think it’s a really good mental workout to do longer runs without music. And, if you do listen to music when you race, the music has an even bigger effect on race day.
Great comments idea! I’ll be checking out everyone’s blogs!
My favorite (and highest traffic blog post) can be found here, from when I did Warrior Dash last year, which was my first adventure race.

I wrote a post about my furry child’s first 10 mile run, because I’m a crazy puppy lady. I was so proud that I had to let the world know via blog, facebook, and twitter.

I just wanna share my new website! I set it all up myself and I’m really proud!

Thanks!
Those purple socks are AMAZABELLS! I am debating on trying the compression socks for my 1st half marathon in October. Going to pop over to read your “All about compression” post to get some better insight. I just have to say I love your blog – you make me smile everyday and crack my shiz up – love it!

I talk about running at 5am.

This is my recap of Seattle RnR this year, but I’m not posting cause I love the recap, it’s more of the reason why I run Seattle RnR every year and about the group Wear Blue Run to Remember, running for the service and sacrifice of the American Military. Seattle is such an emotional race for me and this Saturday will be 3 years that Lisa Hallett (mentioned in my post) will have lost her husband to the war. He is missed by many.
http://rundreamlaugh.blogspot.com/2012/07/seattle-rock-roll-marathon-recap.html
Cynthia – Fellow Wear Blue runner here! Ha–I even saw myself in one of your pics from the corral! I had such an amazing time at this race….it was so moving and the courage and strength of this community is pretty inspiring. Such a small running world and it warms my heart to see the Sea of Blue spreading….Maybe we’ll meet next year!
And here’s my contribution – one of the handful of posts I wrote about the RnR and WB. http://60secondsofdistancerun.blogspot.com/2012/06/running-in-blue-seattle-rnr.html
kara goucher tweeted this post of mine: http://www.runnerindenial.com/2012/05/i-just-realized-how-creepy-this-is.html

just read your post, that is funny… and totally creepy. and it might have been my husband. just sayin.
I don’t have a lot of posts to choose from, I just started blogging a few weeks ago to share my adventures in weight loss, cooking, running, and whatever else comes along! Here’s a post about being done with my 5k training:

Hey SR– do you ever do Books on Tape while you run? This has been my new thing to do.. Doesn’t “pump you up” but gives me something to think about besides- wow, I’m running and still have X miles to go etc.
ive actually never listened to a book on tape but have heard other runners do.
Thanks for letting us know about the giveaway!! LOVE me some compression socks!!
I’m actually having a NUUN giveaway on my blog right now so that’s going to be my link up!
Entries will be accepted through tomorrow night and probably until I wake up and get my long run done Saturday morning

I like to blog about running AND post embarrassing pictures of myself from adolescence: http://runhonrun.com/2012/08/15/peaking-too-soon/
Ohh shameless plugging. I wrote a post about being too healthy that it becomes unhealthy! Especially in the blog world!
http://www.lisalately.com/2012/07/when-healthy-becomes-unhealthy/
or my post about what is truly underneath “fat days”, can’t decide which I like better…
http://www.lisalately.com/2012/07/fat-days/
love the honesty in your posts and about “feeling fat”. im so guilty of that.
and I WANT YOUR HAIR. end of story.
Okay, ya’ll…super exciting moment for our family! We have 4 children going on many more (7 to be exact)…my husband leaves tomorrow for China to meet our next two blessings! I’m staying home with our current fab-four. And this post is about our bucket list of things to do to help pass the time while Dad’s away.
http://www.homespunheritage.net/2012/08/china-prep-series-part-3.html
If anyone wants to follow along on our crazy adventure link up on my blog….yup, we’re nuts about children and we’ll always have an open door to any that need us!
that is amazing that you have a heart for that!
It was one of my shorter posts, but I loved being able to share my 30lb weight loss (now up to 40 and still going). Fitting into those smaller jeans felt like victory.

I actually loved what I wrote today. I have been really focusing on being positive and not giving into fear.

This is so great because it’s gotten me to read so many other blogs! I love your blog and have been reading it forever
Also my husband thinks you are super hot (hopefully that’s not really creepy).
I just started blogging, but my fave post so far is this one on running even in an imperfect setting:

I bought the black Pro Compression socks. Can’t wait to try them after my next half (2 more weeks).
Here is my last race recap- Rock’N'Roll Chicago Half Marathon!
http://bakerunlive.com/2012/07/26/race-recap-rocknroll-chicago-half-marathon/
Last week my story about living with MS was posted on the CNN website. A huge honor for me!
http://www.milesandtrials.com/my-ms-story-on-cnns-website/
wow, that is awesome about it getting posted!
I’m linking up to my old post about runner’s diarrhea, not because it’s a work of art, but because I need more people to admit they have it so I don’t feel so awkward about making this e-confession a hundred years ago.
http://yomommaruns.blogspot.com/2012/02/get-rid-of-runners-diarrhea.html
I love link ups! Running bloggers don’t do them enough!
This was my first day of training for Chicago and the day I admitted to the world that I secretly wanted to qualify for Boston on my first try (and I haven’t shut up about it since).
http://lavenderparking.com/2012/06/04/and-marathon-training-begins/
I don’t blog, but I guess a running story that I like is when an old lady gave me a hand picked strawberry from her basket as I approached the top of a massive hill! (it would have been better if she gave it to me at the top, not before, but oh well!)
Smart car? SWEET! Cannot wait to hear all about it!
My post that I am proud of? I recently explained WHY I RUN. *Hint, it has nothing to do with weight, fitness level or even sanity.

I just did a post about my first 30 days with the Chalean program by Beachbody, LOVE IT! Its so motivating and I actually feel like I am making changes in my body. Pretty fun
Thanks for letting me share it SR!

I’m proud of this post for two reasons:
A. I shamelessly admitted that I stayed in on a Friday Night to watch Saved by the Bell (try not to be jealous).
B. I announced that — and why — I signed up to run a marathon.

http://sweatingforit.com/2012/07/28/rocketchix-triathlon-recap/
This was an all women’s triathlon I did last month! It was totally awesome.
This is so cool! And I’ve found new blogs to read…which I’m sure is the whole point!
I am 34, a wife, a momma, a runner, and a stage III breast cancer survivor. I blog about my family, my running (and sometimes not, since my cancer treatment has led me to have several broken bones and stress fractures in the past year), and also about my faith.
Yesterday’s post was about my kids’ (16, 15, and 8) first day of school.
http://ericaexercisesneats.blogspot.com
Heres an older one that I think is important to remember and know that it does happen to young people – especially with such an increase of the so called “tanorexics”!

Here’s a post from May in which I bitch about the last 3 miles of a 20K trail run, and also post a painting. I’m a multitasker at heart. And I WANT those purple socks.

I really want to try compression socks. Thanks for the info!
Did a hard run yesterday, which led me to writing a post about how running is such a mental sport and how I try to get past the mental struggles that go with it. You can check it out at http://wp.me/p2EN89-1E
Just posted last night on the aftermath of running and running til my hip broke . . . i.e. how I survived then NOT running for 3.5 months. It’s about dealing with injury, or “making a comeback,” as I like to think of it . . .

Skinny runner you are the bomb.com! I love your site
Here’s a follow-up to one of your reader roundups that I posted regarding my bike ride for cancer! The ride was August 11th and it was fabulous! Now I’ve got to get back to running to be ready for a half marathon in less than 60 days. Eeeep!

I’ve lost 28 lbs since I started running. I gave up just about every food I loved for the past 9 months. I now make a dessert once a week and indulge a little. Here’s my all-time favorite dessert – Ruby Berry Cobbler and it’s made in the microwave (important for southerners in the summer). http://www.runonerunall.blogspot.com/2012/08/ruby-berry-run.html
Here’s a post about my transformation which includes some killer cholesterol numbers! And how I lowered them!

I need help with recommendations for blog designers…especially those on the cheap. Awesome combo (being sarcastic!): good and cheap.
I’ve recently started LIVING for compression socks. Mine are hot pink but I’m due some extra pairs. Btw, love the blog!
Here’s my pathetic attempt at sticking to my half-marathon training while in Italy for a wedding… epic fail!!! http://www.2itchyfeet.com/2012/08/pizza-pasta-gelato-pig.html

This is a post I did about racing in Athena divisions. I understand it’s a regional thing- so if you don’t know what Athena and Clydesdale divisions are, don’t worry!
they’re weight-based divisions in races, opposed to age divisions. Check it out!

I finished my first-ever triathlon last Sunday and posted a short recap with my time breakdowns. I wasn’t the fastest one out there and I wasn’t too pleased with the race organization, but the amount of pride I felt finishing was (and is) totally overwhelming.
I’m a new blogger and a TOTALLY new runner. I did a blog post about the Portland Rock N Roll. It was my first ever 1/2 and a learning experience of all sorts for me. I’m such a huge spaz. I’ve always been the funny chubby girl. Now I’m learning to be the funny fit girl. It’s hard work.

I did my first night run this year and here is my post about it! http://szubarik.blogspot.com/2012/08/couch-to-5k-run-3.html
All I got is a pic of a nasty quarter-sized blister on my toe after hiking 105 miles.
Last cool thing I got in the mail was…. MY PURPLE PRO COMPRESSION SOCKS. Loved them so much I put them on and wore them to work with my Fuschia (did I spell that right?) 3 inch stiletto pumps! Ya! I know! I scream GEEK! LOL
I tired my best to eat a 7 pound burrito as seen on Man vs. Food, and training for my half in 8 days

I’m training for my first half marathon which is September 15th! My blog has been a little of everything but mostly blogging my miles and how I feel. I just blogged about my 12miler and how it mentally beat me down. Btw….I don’t go a day without reading your blog!! I love it and love how you put tons of info and funnies in each blog. Thanks for that and for keeping it real!!
