One of my favorite things about returning home after being gone for 3+ weeks is checking all my mail.
Inevitably my excitements turns to dismay when all I find is a bunch of coupons for carpet cleaning and a free ADT alarm system.
But gold buying pamphlets aside, I also received some fun stuff: Jaymo sent me a couple pictures of a box of beauty goodies that came in the mail.
Bliss Beauty sent me all these beauty products to try out. They must have seen my face yesterday and called in the big dogs for help.
or 911.
I’ve tried some of these brands before like the Dove Clinical Protection deoderant and Furterer conditioning mask, but other brands I haven’t even heard of like Supergoop sunscreen.
I actually bought Dove Clinical Protection deodorant a couple months ago when I was in Palm Springs for the weekend. I had left all my beauty products at home and it was 100* outside so I needed some deodorant with serious staying power stat.
This stuff has 20% aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex to make it work and vitamins E&F and moisturizers to make it soft and smooth.
I also tried out The Body Shop Shea beautifying oil last night after showering and shaving – I might have found my new favorite product. I’ve never tried a dry oil before and this is amazing: it makes your skin super, super soft but doesn’t leave that oily, slick residue like regular body oils.
Jaymo even asked if I was wearing perfume last night (I wasn’t) and said that I smelled good… I must regularly stink.
And the Furterer repairing after sun mask is nice and rich, a good heavier conditioner with palm butter and fatty acids.
I’m excited to try this Lorac highlighter/bronzer:
I get a lot of questions about whether I fake and bake or not, and the answer is no, I don’t, but I live in perpetually sunny California.
I always always always wear sunscreen on my face so I use a bronzer to avoid Casper-face. I’ve heard about Lorac makeup but never tried it so hopefully it will make me look like a supermodel. fingers crossed.
By the way, did you hear that supermodel Marissa Miller is having a boy and is totally gross and disgusting looking pregnant?
ha, just kidding.

Let us know your thoughts on that face bronzer. I was just thinking today that I need something new for my face, so I don’t bare such a close resemblance to Casper the Friendly Ghost!
i definitely will. im always looking for something natural that doesnt give you orange face.
Is this the same concept as Birchbox??? I love the Bare Essentials Faux tan!!
Welcome home! Thanks for the Marissa Miller news. I absolutely LOVE her and will most definitely be following her new blog!
Love getting pretty girl surprises in the mail. I get a birchbox every month and it’s always so exciting to see what goodies I get to try.
For sure let’s get a review of the Lorac. I’ve heard about it too but haven’t tried it
Aaarrggghhh…why don’t I receive bento boxes like this instead of junk mails and bills!!?!?!?! BTW, let me know how the mask turns out – currently using Schwarzkopf which is fine but would like to try something new.
Nice to see a Jurlique product in the mix – all the way from my hometown here in Adelaide, South Australia! I love their products, I hope you enjoy.
I am completely obsessed with receiving beauty boxes in the mail! Right now, I have a subscription to Birchbox and Cravebox. Did have one to Look Bag, but they ended that one. Yesterday, I bought the CEW Insider’s Choice Beauty Box. Waiting on Fedex to deliver that one today!!!
Btw, I enjoy reading your blog and after buying an iPad for my mother (who is a runner too), I have her hooked on running blogs!
Let us know how it was. Ive thought about buying like birchbox or something similar. Curious to know which one would be worth the money.
Nice! I love trying new beauty products.
I’m always so pale that using bronzer would look so weird on me.
Hey Lady! I know this does not pertain to this posts topic but I was wondering what size of Pro Compression socks you buy? I cant decide between XS and the S/M. Thanks much:)
