Step It Up

by SkinnyRunner on July 23, 2012

Still busy fishing; the Inlet has been open everyday since last Sunday so we’re fishing up a storm.

Here’s a quick couple random shots from the past few days…

002 (800x450)

Unloading our fish.

We’ve had two big days which means long hours, lots of fish pitching and a couple bucks made.  Hello, Nordstrom Half Yearly.

005 (415x800)

My sister-in-law is really good about grabbing my camera and taking pictures for me.

And I’m really good at saying, ME! Take pictures of ME!

After unloading we have to clean the fishhold or else it starts smelling like stank butt so my nephew helped me.  I knew all these people who have kids were on to something… free labor.

010 (450x800)

**For your reading pleasure, here’s Jessica Simpson’s “fun new weight loss strategy”.

I’ve never used a pedometer, but I do like going on walks and taking my Garmin to see how far I went.

Holy crap, Sutton in those little waders is too freaking cute!

Your family is awesome. Even when you’re knee-deep in fish, you guys are having a good time.

You’re right: miniature = adorable, just look at them! Those two look adorable, and that was for Elmer and your dad ;)

Your Dad and Elmer are a super cute couple.

How in the world does a pregnant woman handle the smells of working on a fish boat? I can’t imagine.

Aww I love Jessica Simpson! I think she’s brilliant in her marketing.
I love all the fishing trip photos, makes me feel like I’m ALMOST on a boat.

Nordstrom Visa is proud of me and my cyber cart this year. Bring on the reward points!
I’d say you deserve a bit of pretty after kneeling on fish for days! Glad you had big days

I was never a pedometer person until a new wellness program at work included one. It basically paid me to walk. I’ll wear just about anything if you pay me!

Rain gear is pretty cute when it’s little!! So nice you had some help cleaning.
Totally none of my business, but does Marlie help your brother fish on a regular basis? If so, that’s so great!

That fishing gear really is precious!!!
Looks like you are working hard-bet it is paying off!
What will you buy first?

Completely off topic from Jessica Simpson and Nordstroms……

What kind of a dog is Elmer? Looks just like my Dad’s hunting dogs.

Those kids are SO cute!
What kind of food do you eat on the boat? Is it super cold, or do those suits keep you pretty warm? It looks freezing!

The boys are so cute! And you’re right, everything in child size is cuter. LOL

I wear a pedometer when I hike, because I don’t have a Garmin. And my phone doesn’t get service on most trails, so I can’t use an app. I like to know how much work I’ve put in!

Tiny baby versions of grown up things are always cute…unless it veers into Toddlers in Tiaras territory.

The kid size fishing gear is adorable!

My dad is the same way with his dog. It’s his 4th child. When Bentley (my parents dog) goes anywhere with my dad in his truck, he sits right next to my dad. It’s his little buddy! :)

Love all the boat pictures!! The boys are so cute! Do the boys go out on the boat for the day?? Was wondering if they get sea sick at their age??

Take me shopping with you!!! I don’t wear my Garmin outside of my runs, so a pedometer is out.

Sarah- can you tell me about compression socks? new runner here. what are the benefits of wearing them??

Reply

Kailin @ Logs and Thoughts July 24, 2012 at 7:09 am

I’m not SR, but I can tell you that they are awesome! They help you recover, and they also just feel good when you take them off…for me, it’s like my legs can breathe again and they are so happy that they can’t help but run fast :-) I have 5 pairs of compression socks that I regularly rotate through, and I have a pair of capri tights that I wear a ton too. Definitely a worthwhile investment!

I take my Garmin pretty much everywhere. I’ve had a pedometer, but I don’t think it’s accurate and it definitely doesn’t give the data that a Garmin does, so I’ll stick with the Garmin :-)

You might have mentioned this somewhere, but I haven’t seen it. What kind of dog is Elmer? He is awesome, so is Marni, obviously.

Sqqquuueeee Button is the cutest thing ever in that gear!

(seeing stuff like that makes me scream “I want one” involuntarily…but then my rational self steps in and reminds me that I must find a husband first.)
