I got a ticket… from the Fashion Police

by SkinnyRunner on June 29, 2012

WORKOUT -

Ran on TM -

5.0 miles/40 mins

1. incline

Elliptical – 25 mins

Walked dog 2.75 miles

Before I went to the gym I stopped at Bed Bath & Beyond to get a Sodastream refill.  I had been waiting and waiting for a 20% off coupon, and my friend gave me one last night.

Speaking of her, she’s the one who bought me the Sodastream as just a random gift.  Aren’t surprise, no-reason gifts the best?  One time my mom bought me a Kate Spade handbag for no reason at all; I’ll never forget that because it was such a surprise.

If you take the carbonation bottles back to the store, they’re a lot cheaper than buying new ones.  These were $15 each and then $3 off with the coupon.  I think brand new bottles are around $30?

If you’re trying to drink more water or quit pop, get a Sodastream.  I LOVE IT!!

Well, maybe first buy some sparkling water and try that before you go drop a hundo on one.

Do you have a Sodastream, drink sparkling water or think it’s disgusting?

The hubs thinks it’s superturd gross, but I love it.  I think it helps me drink even more water.  And I already guzzle it like a camel.

LAST NIGHT

Our financial planner and friend spent the night last night because she has meetings in the OC today.  And because she had to meet with us and discuss our future financial plans.

So after the meeting we went out to Jizake Sushi, a small, sorta hole in the wall joint in a nondescript strip mall.  Someone had recommended it to the man so we decided to try it out.

It was small but packed.  We have a ton of little sushi joints all over the OC so if you have to wait for a table, you know it’s good.

{I finally washed my hair but couldn’t put the effort into drying or styling it.  And yes, I wore the same dress two days in a row.  Fashion Police are writing the citation now.}

While we waited, we ordered drinks and I found my new best friend: it’s a sparkling sake that is so delicious it should be illegal in a few states.  I used to think sake tasted like foot but this stuff changed my whole point of view on life.

And then we ordered a ton of sushi.  My favorite is always the rainbow roll, so much good fish on top.

For how much food we ordered, the place was really affordable.  Sushi can get expensive and you have to eat like 75 pieces to fill you up.  What, only me?

Now it’s pool time.

What are you doing this weekend?

I should get a Sodastream. I love the bubbliness in soda and beer but not all the evil it comes with… Just last night I bought the new V-8 sparking juice things, but they can get expensive too!

I have a graduation party Saturday and another picnic Sunday. It’s supposed to be 90 million degrees outside so I am thankful for a pool at the graduation party.
Hoping to get a 7-miler started by 7:30am Saturday and do yoga at 9am at my local Whole Foods. They do yoga on the rooftop, and it’s really nice. (You can eat up there, and they even have a Taco Truck! ) Can’t beat yoga for $5!!
Have a great weekend!

Have you seen that Target carries Sodastream now too? Looks pretty cool!

FYI. . . Xtend Barre MV has Plum District & Groupon deals coming out in a couple weeks! I know one of them is for new clients but hopefully the other is for current clients. Look for them around July 17th.

I need to do my 11 mile run this weekend – not looking forward to it in this Phoenix heat. Hubby and I are still free from the kids so Saturday night we’re hanging with friends and Sunday I’m meeting some girlfriends for a movie. :-)

I LOVE sushi, but I always feel like I need a lot to make me full, too. And sometimes I think I’m crazy because my husband is full after about 1.5 rolls … whereas I want like 3 all to myself! ;)

Sparkling sake? Sounds delicious! I love nigori (unfiltered sake) – it looks kinda gross but it is really tasty!

I’m going on vacation this weekend to Aruba! Super excited!!

I don’t really like soda…I get a craving for Sprite zero every once in a while, but then the bubbles make my tummy funny…and that’s a whole other story!

That SAKE is the BOMB! Our chef gives it to us for holidays etc and I drink the whole thing…hubs needs to get his own.

This weekend: Running, Girls night in, Pride parade, Sun, Chevy fit 4 life event :)

My parents’ sodastream traumatized our dog, so I don’t think we’ll ever get one, but they do make delicious drinks.

This weekend is pretty much my first and only free weekend all summer, so I’m going to live it up and do nothing!

I’m not a fan of sparkling water or sake, but sushi I can always eat!
I wish I was having pool time this weekend. Instead it’s a long run and long bike, and a football game. Hoping for decent weather!

I just bought a soda stream the other day and I think it is not working properly. It leaks and doesn’t make the same noise as my sister’s does. I’m bummed and will ave to exchange it! Nthe sake pounds amazeballs!!!

I am having a garage sale fundraiser tomorrow to help my daughter go on a mission trip. Then get-together with my running group after church on Sunday.

Not a fan of sparkling water. Blech! HUGE fan of sushi! I like to just order a wide variety for the table and try a little of everything. Yum!

I’m trying to get off the juice (diet coke) so I’ve been drinking sparkling water. I hated it so I put a little bit of real cranberry juice in it so it would taste better until I got accustomed to the taste. Now I can drink it no problem but it took awhile of forcing myself to drink it. (Same thing when I switched from regular pop to diet.) Maybe Jaybob can try that out?
My favorite is the Seagram’s White Peach selzer water now.

I’m new to your blog and I love it! You are funny! :)

I love sushi and eat it a lot because we have tons of little sushi joints here in Vancouver BC. That sushi looks super yummy! What was the name of your sake?

I usually order sparkling water (Perrier) when I dine out since I don’t take alcohol. I consider it a treat like how most people do with wine, champagne, cocktails. This weekend…hmmm, had a group run this morning, a charity run tomorrow and a birthday party dinner for my bro-in-law tomorrow night. It’ll be a fantastic weekend!

Baahahaha! It was my birthday Thursday and we went to hibachi…. where the chef kept giving me shots of sake and saying, “more sake more happy.” I think sake is nasty – but I think I would have preferred the kind you had!

Me thinks I will be having sushi tonight :)

Oh man, I drank a ton of carbonated water to kick my soda habit.

Sake is AWESOME. I’m glad you found a way to enjoy it!
