flat, paved path, beautiful weather
It’s a gorgeous, clear sunny day here on the Oregon Coast and it was such great weather I had to take advantage of it so I ran some miles on the Riverfront bike path.
I think everyone in the entire town was out enjoying the weather and drying out from the rain.
Many of you mentioned the great view at my parents’ place. I took this picture last night as the sun set on the Columbia River bridge:
My parents have a small condo that gets a bit tight and cozy for family gatherings, but my dad grew up on the water, made his living on it, and there’s something kinda cool about still living so close to it.
Another almost as cool thing about their condo building is that they have a library. Everyone who lives in this building is like 1000 years old so they totally get into stuff like that. Hey, it’s Tuesday so why not start a library!
I grabbed a couple books the other night and no, I did not use the checkout system (a notepad and pencil) that they had. Yup, total rebel over here.
I read You’ll Never Nanny in This Town Again already and am on The Nanny Diaries right now. What’s with all the nanny books?! I also grabbed a James Patterson to balance out all the babies with some grisly murders.

I am a 29 year old running mother. You CAN run after you have kids! And you can run marathons after you have kids! I started this blog because I love running and I love being a mama. I wanted to share with YOU that they can go hand in hand.
In all reality, running probably makes me a better mom. I truly believe it’s all about balance. Running, along with my faith and my family keeps me balanced and sane. Everyone’s happy if I’m happy:)
My blog is kind of a day in the life of a busy stay at home mom to three kids age 2, 4 and 5, and how we keep it all rolling day after day. My husband is a runner too – of the ultramarathon breed – which I will someday try out. For now I am enjoying learning more about marathon running and sharing what I learn on my blog.
I came up with the name because I never really considered myself a runner. I just started in the past couple years, and it stuck. I love the great physical shape that running keeps me in, and I love learning about the nutrition that is so important in keeping a healthy body so that I can keep running.
I’m going to be 30 this year (gah!!!) but still feel like I’m floating around in a 22 year old body. My kids keep me young. And running keeps me young. And maybe a little bit sore.

I actually met Katie at the Gansett Marathon during the last few miles of the race. She was having a tough race and I was struggling just to keep up with her!

I love Katie’s blog! She is a super-fast runner. Being born and raised in FL, I don’t think I could ever live anywhere that wasn’t near the ocean….like in the middle of the US. Nope, couldn’t do it.

I travel in the Midwest A LOT for work and never understood how people could not live near water. It is a MUST MUST MUST.

Have you ever been to Wilson Lake in central KS? It’s the clearest lake I have ever seen! Think it might be due to the sandy bottom instead of the usual mud.

So funny how people in OR & WA live outside when it’s sunny out, they truly are drying off! I used to get so mad in high school if I had to be inside on a sunny day.

I read the Nanny Diaries and the one that came after it. I loved it. I also loved The Devil Wears Prada – the book was great. I also liked the movie.

I’m only 27 and I desperately want a library in my house! With leather recliners. I just googled it (because I’m weird like that), and 85% of Aussies live within 50km of the coast. The fact that ENTIRE countries are landlocked baffles me.
Are Kim and Kanye actually a couple? Wow…
Katie is adorable and FAST! And having 2 kids within a year of each other – you deserve some medals just for that! Katie – please tell me you are really tall, and not 5’3 like me. It will make me feel better knowing it’s your height that helps you look tall and lean. Oh and you and SR have the same legs! Kinda crazy!
