I like to shove food in my mouth

by SkinnyRunner on April 23, 2012

Omg so I want to kill all technology right now.

Windows Live Writer isn’t working so I’m posting with the ‘ol WordPress which is a life sucker.  And I have the SLO Marathon race recap written but it’s on WLW. wah wah.

I’m also working on changing servers.  And sad news: I’ve had to add the “click to read more” crap on posts so it will run faster.  Sorry.  I hate that, but I’ve already installed widgets, compressed my pictures and pretty much sacrificed myself to the crappy blog gods to make this darn thing work better.

I got all stressed and mad about it and my man tried to tell me something about ”If that’s the biggest of your problems, you’re blessed”.  Exactly what I didn’t want to hear.

A COUPLE LINKS

*The winner of the $40 PlanetGear gift certificate is #183 Megan from Run Like a Grl

*Thanks to Charity for writing this way too generous and nice post about me.  It’s like she’s not even talking about me but someone way cooler.

RAGNAR PICS

I have a few more pictures (here’s the first round) from this weekend’s Ragnar Ultra relay all courtesy of Pam…

At the start line.  When they announced our team I tried to do the Jersey Shore fist pump, but I’m sure it looked like I was having a back spasm and needed rotator cuff surgery.

Running my first leg.  I had a lot of miles to run, 41ish, but they were almost all flat, like I had seriously easy legs.

Pam brought this jar of pickles for the van, but I convinced myself they were all for me.  So tasty after a hot run.

Me, Nicole (go watch her videos of the relay – girl is funny!), Pam and Chacha at one of the many exchanges.  This was Friday afternoon inland near Corona and it was toasty out, at least 80-85*.

Oh hey, just shoving more salty food in my mouth, no big.

The feeding frenzy continues.  Pam’s husband dropped off pizzas around 6pm so I had 4 slices.  Yeah, 4.  It was a brilliant idea at the time and then when I started running my 19 mile leg, it quickly turned into a horrible idea.

And really, one of the finer pictures ever taken of me:

We were waiting to cheer Chacha on at one of the exchanges so I took it upon myself to direct traffic (runners had to cross the street twice) in my compression socks, Tory Burch flats, hot pink BIC band, Where’s Waldo sweatshirt and compression shorts.  Just trying to be a hero and a fashionable one at that.

**I think the discount codes still work for $20 off and free shipping for the compression socks, use RR20 and for 50% the compression shorts, use APS4me.

I want to kill technology all of the time ie “computer – why are you slow and sound like you are going to blow up all of the time? why?”

is it weird I’ve never had a pickle?

SkinnyRunner April 23, 2012 at 7:56 pm

I was just catching up on all. The last relay I ran I did about 7 miles in the dark alone, in the woods – I was SO pissed by the time I spotted someone. I won’t name the relay but they tried to tell me a volunteer was out there – my ass a volunteer was out there. It’s crazy that it happens with that many people! I did run 2 of those miles at 6:52 though – I move faster when I’m beyond terrified. Oh and I’m wearing my procompression socks now. Love them!!!!!

What glasses are you wearing? I want to steal them!

the world would be a more beautiful place if we all dressed like that smokin hot getup! ;) and that’s a tiny jar of pickles, so of course it’s just for you, duh! ;) hope your computer and server problems get fixed soon!

I enjoyed all of the Ragnar commentary on Twitter – and now I’m working on a team for Napa Ragnar. Can’t wait! Love the photos here too!

I laughed out loud about the pie hole comment. Husbands, sometimes, don’t say the right things and then you want to smack them. I think this happens on a semi-daily basis for me.

I’m pretty sure those pickles were all for you. And that outfit rocks as hard as my plaid flannel with the aspaeris shorts.

yeah you seriously rocked the plaid as if you were from seattle. im sorta jealous.

every time you talk about pickles I instantly want one! And I never have them on hand. I need to fix that. Those are some pretty sweet pics…I think the one of you running is pretty epic.

I don’t understand how you manage to be so cute all the time, even during your relay.

And I wanted to tell you that I LOVE the pro compression socks that I won in your giveaway, they are by far my favorite compression socks and I have like 4 different brands.

Hahaha! I love that picture of you waiting at the exchange. I feel like if you’re an amazing runner participating in an ultra relay, no one has the place to judge wardrobe choices :)

Congrats on finishing Man Up Week!!! Amazing!!!!

I frequently dislike technology, as well. It can be incredibly frustrating! Good luck to you as you try to figure it all out!

The last picture is pretty funny. I’ve never tried pickles post run but all the mentions are making me want to try!

Katie @ Katie Moves April 24, 2012 at 5:11 am

I would have definitely stolen all of those pickles! You guys look like you had a blast!

This is great – and I am 100% certain I’ve worn the same outfit. The next time I need to draw Waldo in draw something – I may come back to this pic for inspiration.

4 slices of pizza sounds divine… even if it is at 8:22 in the morning.

During races I tend to fist pump and drop the occasional booty drop near my running partner. Gotta keep it spicy!

Oh my word, if I had a dollar for eating a bunch of food and thinking, I’ll be fine…I’d be a rich woman. Too many runs have given me a taste of “seconds” of whatever meal I ate a few hours prior :(

I hope to one day be as fashionable as you. Wait maybe I am…I a wearing black plaid gym shorts with a neon yellow shirt and lime green compression socks and pink shoes..

Hey SR! I’m so happy to have won the giveaway. Believe me when I say I never win things, so this is awesome! I think I need to play the lotto today because I’m on a roll! haha.

Love your pics from the relay! Especially the jar of pickles.

You are such an amazing person. 160 miles in 9 days you are a stud runner. I still think of myself as a new runner (2.5 years into it). Thank you for all your great posts
