WORKOUT –
Rest day
Instead of working out, us girls took the dogs on a 4.3 mile walk around the neighborhood. Marlie and Matti have a mini weiner dog that has a little weight problem… she needs to drop a massive 2.4 lbs.
YESTERDAY
Yesterday was such a fun day to spend celebrating my mom’s birthday. First we biked and golf carted to the Crooked Putter for breakfast which is becoming a tradition whenever we’re all in Phoenix.
So my parents bought these two bikes from Walmart – they work fine and all but the seats are so uncomfortable. Like you think something’s broken down there when you get off. Like a cinder block would work better.
My dad bought a gel padded seat but it isn’t any better than the standard one that came with the bike! Is there a certain brand or kind of seat cushion we should buy or should I just start duct taping a pillow to my JLO?
Veggie omelette.
Orange face.
After breakfast Marlie, my mom and I got our nails done – we each had manicures and pedicures and they had gels while I just had the regular manicure.
The gels are suppose to last 3 weeks so I sorta wish I would have done them, but I wanted a grey color and wasn’t in love with any of the gel colors.
We had a quick late lunch at Paradise Bakery and then drove across the street for some spa time.
I would highly recommend the Lavender Day Spa if you’re in the Surprise area of Phoenix. It’s not like the Four Seasons superluxe, but it’s very affordable, relaxing and the treatments were great.
We had hour long massages for $39 (an intro special) and facials for $59 – for this Californian, that’s like stealing it’s so cheap!
We were going to go out to sushi, but we were all so tired and relaxed that we decided to just clean out the fridge instead and have leftover chicken enchiladas.
And that is how you take an amazing picture: with a bunch of crap in the foreground and someone sticking their head in it. classic.

Guess I won’t splurge on a Wal-mart gel seat. Darn. I hope someone comments with a good seat recommendation.
i’m so jealous you’re in AZ! that’s where i grew up, and my husband’s and my family are still all out there. we were just there last weekend, and it was GORGEOUS weather. enjoy!
yay! glad i won! off to email you now…
I love the last picture! My husband likes to stick his head in at the last minute of pictures to be goofy.
I’ve never had gels before. Do they really last 3 weeks???
2-3 weeks! gels are awesome. And your nails will grow with them on because they are like putting a little overlay on your nails so they won’t break as easily. Not that I keep mine up, but they are still totally awesome.
You should try gel hybrid polish like CND Shellac. Goes on just like nail polish, lasts 4-5 times longer, dries under lamp so no smudging. And it doesn’t damage your natural nail. Awesome stuff!
And it’s fast dry, so you can walk out of the store as soon as you are done. Well worth the extra money!
Those prices ARE totally like stealing! Wow…
but I’d rather live here in CA and pay the bigger bucks.
When you find out what seat is actually comfy on a bike, let us all know. I swear I don’t know how cyclists can do it.
Ridiculous question: Is the Bud Light Clamato in the last pic any good!?! Always tempted to try it…
sorry i cant help you, i was drinking a mimosa. but my mom likes those, like one a year!
Bud Light Cheladas are THE BEST. They taste like a sparkling Bloody Mary. De-freakin-licious.
Can i ask what kind of running pants you wear? you always look so cute in your pics? i am sure if i bought the same ones i would be rather disappointed b/c they probably won’t make me magically look like you but still…..
Maybe Spenco on the bike seat? Or try a Trek-type store. They should have something.
The Kidless Kronicles
If it hurt that bad, I would have walked instead of bike. And now I’m itching to get a mani/pedi – reward for finishing a run this morning. Self serving, I know.
Aww your mom is so cute! Happy Bday SRMomma!
I kind of love your nail color.
Sounds like an awesome day.
I have to say, I gave you crap earlier about posting about popular blogger (ala Mama ), its refreshing that you also offer posts about some less known bloggers! Kudos!
glad you notice that. ive tried since i started blogging 3 years ago to share as much blogging love through a variety of ways
i do a lot of (road) biking…and i must say that the padded biking shorts are a life saver! so yeah they sort of feel like a diaper while on but man…being able to sit down afterwards without wincing in pain is totally worth it!
