Taco Tuesday

by SkinnyRunner on January 25, 2012

I’ve been at my computer all day long doing shirt orders.  I started at 6am and am pulling the plug now because I can’t tell if MA stands for Maine, Michigan, Montana, Madison, why don’t any states start with a ‘Q’ or a ‘Z’?!

It doesn’t help that I like to do things as inefficiently as possible.  First I get out my Abacus to add the total up and then I do some elegant old world calligraphy on every package.  So if I haven’t responded to your email yet, I’ll get to it, I promise… I just have to do some thermography first.

One of many healthy and balanced afternoon snacks:

That was supposed to be a Valentine’s gift for my husband… I ate the whole box.  My whole desk looks like a pantry right now, there’s so much food on it.

All day I’ve been listening to country on Pandora.  I used to hate country music and now suddenly I have an intense craving for a dirt road, a cold beer, a porch swing and Jason Aldean.

Do you listen to Pandora?  This is only the second time I’ve ever used it or been on it or whatever you call it.  What station do you listen to?

Marni was not impressed.  On a side note, I think the fact that she can sleep on a windowsill would make her a standout in a dog show.  BEST IN SHOW.

Anyways, rewinding to last night… we met up with our insta besties  Katie and Merrick for Taco Tuesday.  We just can’t seem to go a day without seeing each other.  and $1.25 tacos?!  done.

Maybe it’s because I have creepy hand.

Those two are no fun at all.

so boring.

It’s all fun ‘n’ games until someone breaks a glass pees their pants.  Then it’s even more fun and games.

literally laughed out loud at your weird hand comment. too funny. $1.25 tacos sound amazing! i’ll have to find some of those in vancouver, although chances are they’ll be $1.25 million if you compare it to the housing prices around here.

I remember when Rubio’s t=Taco Tuesday was $1. This was 4 years ago, but whatever. There is something annoying about $1.25 vs $1.

I listen to Pandora a lot – when you spend half your day in a cube writing software, it’s somewhat of a necessity. My two main stations right now are Temper Trap and Generationals (a relatively unknown alternative group from New Orleans).

Grooveshark is also pretty awesome for listening to specific songs rather than a random assortment you don’t get to choose.

MA is Massachusetts. Just in case you needed a quick reference!
So excited to get my shirt in TX…that’s for TEXAS!

I love pandora! I have so many random stations, it’s the best. Hat tamales are my fav!

You might think about having people fill out a Google Doc Form instead of sending you an email for their orders, that way you’ll be sure they give you all the information, etc., in the right format. You can link to it directly from your site – if you want me to explain it quickly and send you some links on how, shoot me an email.

I use Pandora when I’m on my treadmill. I usually will do a Lady Gaga, Katy Perry station or lately it’s been Pop/Hip Hop Fitness. They throw in some old school stuff that is great!

I love it when someone pees their pants! :)

I haven’t listened to pandora. I normally go to radio.com and from there I pick country and US99.5 (Chicago Station)

That is one strange looking hand, reminds my of the King of Queens episode with the freakish arm on the painting of Doug and Carrie lol. At least your outfit looks fab. :-)

I wouldn’t be surviving grad school w/o pandora!! My go to stations are Mumford & Sons & 80s pop. My all-time gave was the ludacris holiday station over Xmas – ahhhmazing!

I have just started to listen to pandora while on the treadmill at home. I listen to evanescence station and I did listen to the xmas station in december. Sounds like you got lots of orders and your garage will be empty soon!! I would have bought another shirt but one of my 30 before 30 goals was no more purchasing running clothes!

I started listening to Pandora this week after I lost my iPod. But I usually make my own stations instead of one of theirs cuz I’m a music snob like that. :-)

I’ve found that when I’m really working hard at work or trying to really concentrate, that listening to country music is a must! What company did you order your shirts from? http://www.dashingdiva.net

I used to be a strictly Grooveshark girl because you can listen to the song you want to listen to, not just make a radio station based on it and hope your song comes up. But now, I’m a Pandora convert. I have unlimited data on my iPhone so I listen to it ALL the time — the best station is the Two Door Cinema Club station! My boyfriend shared it with me after I asked 10000 times “What station is this? I like all these songs!”

I listen to Pandora all day @ work – the Film Scores station. When I run on the treadmill, I listen to the Cascada, Basshunter or Blink 182 stations. When I study, I listen to the Bach station…so yes…kind of obsessed…I bought Unlimited because I was tired of ads…

Anyway, now my novel is over. Thanks for responding to my email so quickly, stoked for my SR tank!!

I think Marni sleeping in the windowsill might qualify her to be a cat. She’s so tiny!

I listen to Pandora while I run because it keeps me guessing what song is coming next. Except that I listen to the Backstreet Boys or J. Bieb station exclusively so it plays the same 12 songs in a row. But man are they a great 12 songs….

It always makes my heart happy when I hear that a country music hater has converted to a fan. :) I have Pandora but I always forget about it so I never use it. I was using Spotify for awhile but now I’m back to regular old I-Tunes playlists.

Jason Aldean is my second place celebrity crush after Tim Tebow.
Marni looks very cute on the window….I think that is the ONLY place my dogs haven’t treid to sleep in!

Pandora is the best for parties! I put in on jazz christmas or something and just ignore it. Until my guests ask why Jingle Bells is playing at a Halloween party.

Reply

Sarah January 26, 2012 at 7:18 am

I LOVE country music! like T. Swift, who isn’t really country, but still. Carrie Underwood, Eden’s Edge, and Tebow trying to sing country. What. a. guy.

p.s.- do you have a blogroll? Thanks!

Taco Tuesdays – sounds fun! I have a thing for hot tamales as well. They’re addictive!

Love Pandora – listen to it while working/blogging. I have very random taste so one day I’ll listen to the Rihanna station the next Imogen Heap.

Looking forward to getting my shirt! :-)

Pandora is great. That’s the only radio station I listen to lately, especially during my runs. Workout, morning runner, Jazz, Antonio Vivaldi, Kesha, Enya are some of my favorites.

Your hand IS creepy!!!

Love Pandora but I am loving Spotify as well these days. I put all my workout playlists there!

Love love love Jason Aldean! I’m hooked on Spotify right now, but when I listen to Pandora, it’s always country. I’m trying to create a Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift only station, but Pandora keeps insisting that Rascal Flatts needs to be part of that…

I think Pandora knows more about the music I like than I do, a little creepy sometimes!

Love pandora. loved some 80′s cardio this morning at exercise group. dance cardio. adele. black eyed peas. celine dion. pink. kesha. sugarland. beyonce. and toddler radio for the kiddos. some stations are for workouts. some for cleaning the house. some for the cool down after the workout. will I pay for the commercial free version-maybe.

Thanks for asking everyone about pandora. Now I have some new stations to listen to! I already love broken belles, civil wars, black eyed peas, John Williams composer station. It’s all good.

Jason Aldean is my favorite! I just bought concert tickets to go see him. Sometimes I’ll listen to him on my iPod on what needs to be a slower paced run (long or recovery) because listening to him doesn’t make me want to speed up, that’s for sure.

Laura January 26, 2012 at 8:52 am

Country music is basically the best in the world. Jason Aldean is good, but Luke Bryan is my country music boyfriend. Just don’t tell my husband or his wife.

A few months ago my husband and I sat our teenage sons down and, with serious you-are-in-potential-trouble-here voices, said that we were really disappointed in something we found on the computer …. pause while they sweated it out a bit …. country music on i-tunes. (Followed by a “we dodged a bullet” looks on their faces). One of them has turned on us and has started to enjoy songs that make me want to stick pins in my eyes. And now you too – what next?!?! And, I don’t listen to Pandora (yet) – but I’m old, and it takes me a while to get with what the kids today are doing. I only recently took down my wall-size cork board and replaced it with a slight Pinterest addiction.

Pandora is great-oh yes it is. I love the Lady Gaga station for working out, for sure.

Not a pandora user. But I’m not a listen-to-music-while-I-run kind of person, either…I guess music just isn’t really up my alley. Too much stimulation.

Pandora for running MUST be any of the following: Deadmau5, Kaskade, Deadmau5/Kaskade station, or skrillex. sometimes a lady gaga or two is thrown in there. For writing reports at work?- Ray Lamontagne, A Fine Frenzy, or Empire of the sun stations.

I love Pandora! I’m usually listening to either Blake Shelton Radio or *NSYNC radio. I know…such a teenybopper, but it sure keeps me entertained driving in the car!!!
