WORKOUT – Ran outside 11.2 miles/1:35  few hills, no music

Streak: Day 1

I took the last 2 days off since the marathon so I’m rocking this running streak hard… with 1 day.  Is it even a streak if it’s only 1 day?  don’t think so.

Anyways, today I met my friend Pam at CTW’s favorite restaurant, Red Robin (she orders the weirdest thing) But before that, I had to pose… with a knife.  because that’s not weird at all.

It was there dirty on the counter and it wasn’t like I was gonna wash it.

Pam and Royce

I had the salad like I usually do.  I didn’t get any fries because that’s a special private pig out moment that I only share with my husband: we order a basket while waiting for our food and then a couple more with our food; it’s generally disgusting watching us.

I spot someone picking their nose and for once it’s not Jaybob.

Pam also ran Vegas; we ran together for awhile but she had an injury and had to slow down in the latter half of the race.

Get this: she pulled over and took her shoe off 3x to massage her toe, walked multiple times, called her husband and still ran a 3:47?!?  that’s insane.

Cassie and her friend Lila ran a 5k this past weekend in Memphis.

“Here is our picture with our medals and our BICbands. She surprised me with my pink one; and they did not slip at all! I love it!”

Chocolate Covered Kristin just ran her first marathon (CIM) this weekend and ran a 3:33:26!

You can read her recap here and here.  Congrats, Speedy!

Stephanie also ran her first marathon this weekend at the Dallas White Rock Marathon in 3:32:35.  Another speed demon!  Congrats!

Reader Kelsey is looking for local Chicago runners/bloggers to run with.  Anyone know of anyone who lives in Chicago, likes to run and doesn’t kill people for sport?

I wish my friends liked to run. Every time I invite them to go they stare at me like I’ve grown two heads…or it could just be stress pimples they’re looking at.

I live in logan square in Chicago. I would be very weary of calling myself a runner, though….More like sometimes i put on running gear and move slightly faster that people who walk at a brisk pace. :)

I live in Wrigleyville and would love to have a running partner! Although during the winter I tend to hibernate and focus on speed training and strength training at the gym.

Jessica Washburn@ runningtobeskinny December 7, 2011 at 6:47 pm

Well, you definitely earn your ‘disgusting pig out on fries’ moment…and poor Jaybob, oh the abuse. :) I order that same salad, minus the pickles…I’m trying the pickles next time. Yeah, crazy your friend did all that and still got that time, good for her!!

okay I gotta ask…does Pam do her hair everyday? I met her briefly at Eye Candy and it was all up and curly and pretty…but then when I look around your pictures, it seems like its always up and curly and pretty. I don’t even have kids and I don’t have the patience to even dry mine most of the time!

Katye: so funny, I had the exact same impression of Pam at Eye Candy even though I didn’t meet her. I was blown away by her amazing hair!!

I found a great website today that’s having a huge sale on Nike clothing and shoes with lots of running stuff. http://www.6pm.com The link to Nike is towards the bottom of the homepage under “Ending Soon”. They have the Tempo shorts for $11-15 and tons of running tights, skirts, tanks, etc
