Sometimes I dress inappropriately…

by SkinnyRunner on November 29, 2011

…especially for Southern California.  Not inappropriate like Real Housewives of Orange County Tamra-inappropriate:

ry=400

She is 43 with 4 children and possibly killed a python in the making of that swimsuit.

But inappropriate like wearing UGGs when it was 75* today.

Basically any time is the wrong time to wear UGGs in SoCal because it’s so warm, but that sure doesn’t stop me.  At least I quit the skirt-and-boots combo that I desperately tried to rock in college.  So did Britney; I guess we both struck out on that one.

It’s just plain confusing – is it hot or is it cold?!  You’ve got summer on top and winter on bottom.

I didn’t leave the house today until 3pm and it was kinda cold in our house so I went with the trusty $3 Henley long sleeve shirt and UGG boots.  Just perfect for when I got in my car and saw that it was 75* and muggy and overcast.

Maybe Tamra can take me shopping and teach me some style tips?

you look super cute — and not Tamra like at all….not at all! ;) I also tried to rock Uggs and skirts in college — uh, no bueno…

I live in the frozen tundra of Northern Maine. I have 3 pairs of Uggs and I only wear one of them. The salt and snow here ruins them. I sacrifice one pair and the other two sit in their boxes. I think that they are kind of like Savings Bonds…the longer you keep them the more they are worth. If that doesn’t prove to be true, I will bronze them and use them for books ends. Too bad I don’t own any books.

If it falls below 70 in Florida, we break out the scarves and boots! You are totally appropriate. ;)

I live in Chicago and you need Ugg boots, a coat, a scarf, a hat, gloves, more gloves, and a shovel. And that’s just to go get the mail.
Maybe I should move to CA.

I just had this conversation with someone the other day when we were trying to decide if it was ever okay to wear uggs with a skirt. I thought NOT. She disagreed. Also, we ended up discussing whether or not you were supposed to wear socks with uggs. Thoughts?!

well my feet smell like rotten garbage so i NEED to wear socks with mine or else the UGGs turn into garbage, but it sure is nice when theyre all new and soft to slip your mangled toes into them. what, just me?

i love tamra! she keeps me laughing…whether her behavior is good or bad….( i guess i relate because i too am 43…ugh! )

@Heather….that’s funny :) @SR…I LOVE my Uggs. I don’t blame you for rocking them. I also tried to rock them with the skirt in college…but…I went to college in Wyoming. So the skirt also required tights, long underwear and hand warmers.

Oh Tamra! How we love her. ; )

Just be glad you live somewhere where Uggs are an option, not a requirement, come January!

if it was 75 degrees right now, I’d be in flip flops and nearly naked. If I were in LA right now, I’d probably be walking the streets in yoga shorts and see through tank top because I’d be DYING.

The tank would probs cost $3, though.

It’s been beautiful in the 50′s and 60′s this week, it’ll be in the 40′s this weekend here in sunny NH… so I never know what to wear!

I am NEVER dressed correctly for the weather.

Last night I went to a meeting and the girl was so rude, she was like “oh, you’re dressed like it’s summer time”…but I was wearing all winter colors, I just happened to have on a skirt, because it’s been unseasonably warm. Kind of annoyed me that someone would make a comment like that.

Ha, ha. I swear we’re twinsies have the time (that’s a dig to you and I’m sorry), :) but I just made a comment on my post about wearing UGG’s to the next Nutcracker. I’m wearing mine at this moment even though I’m in Phoenix. Jessica

Shew, Tamara is a red hot mess, isn’t she? Too funny about the boots and the weather. It’s getting colder here, so I welcome some warm boots!

My feet get so hot in Uggs I barely wear them out in the winter, let alone in the summer. I don’t get how the miniskirt/Uggs girls do it.

kari @ Running Ricig November 30, 2011 at 7:56 am

at least you’re not tucking your pants in. It’s like they’re secret boots.

Andrea November 30, 2011 at 8:17 am

I’m also guilty as charged with the Uggs. I live in San Diego and I have 2 (TWO!!!) pairs! But you know how it is in SoCal. It dips below 65 degrees and we complain about how cold it is!

Cute jeans….what kind are they?

I had to fight with myself not to ask for the purple sequin Uggs for Christmas. #1 – I don’t wear boots unless it is snowy out, and #2 – I am 37 years old. Therefore I settled for the plain purple Uggs. I’m allowed to wear them – I am in the Northeast where it gets cold! Not yet cold, but soon!

Lena @Fit on the Rocks November 30, 2011 at 8:28 am

My feet would get soooo sweaty lol. I love my UGGs when it’s cold as crap and need warm toes.

I still see chicks wearing the jean miniskirts with the UGGs. Not a good look.
The other day I went out with a thermal T-shirt on and was sweating it out the whole day because my house was cold, it was overcast outside, and the humidity was insane. Yuck!

Heather November 30, 2011 at 9:26 am

75* would be heavenly. We’re around 30* today with snow showers in the forecast for tomorrow…

chiara November 30, 2011 at 10:23 am

My house has been freezing lately! I mean, I guess it’s good in the sense that I don’t need A/C but it was weird that it was like 75 outside and I had a huge sweatshirt on inside.

Kerri B. November 30, 2011 at 10:51 am

I’m wearing a short sleeve t-shirt and a patagonia down vest….typical SoCal attire! :-)

I’m the Queen of flip flops when it’s cold….doesn’t mother nature understand it’s not supposed to be cold in Texas?!!

Oh the styles you must see in the OC! Skin-tastic. But, I want to live in your climate controlled bubble! Eastern WA is getting frigid and WINDY of late!

You pretty much make anything look cute!
