WORKOUT – Ran in Carlsbad 11.1 miles/1:35
My legs were a little tired this morning but I got in some easy early morning miles before we went biking to breakfast; more on that later.
I love self-portraits!
Yesterday Reese and I did really important stuff like afternoon mimosas and reading all the gossip magazines.
And we enjoyed a romantic sunset together while Jim was playing tennis.
Our friend Christina stopped by for dinner – filet mignon. Didn’t I say that Reese goes to town on the cooking?! She cooks better meals on a camp stove that I do at home.
Pretending to help but not really doing anything. If you just hold stuff in your hands, you look busy. an old trick that never fails.
We had filets, baked potatoes, and a huge garden salad. Good stuff.
And then Christina treated us to Golden Spoon froyo, score. I highly recommend having friends who feed you well.
As if you didn’t know, it’s Friday; what are you doing this weekend? Anything fun? Forcing other people to make food for you?

Looks like fun! That’s some intense cooking for camping!
I just volunteered to help run a kids race tomorrow morning, which is sure to be entertaining. Other than that, no big plans here!
I love when people feed me. That’s the good side of camping.. the boys will usually grill and take care of the mess – I just sit in front of a fan with a drink in my hand.
This weekend my youngest sister will go to her first homecoming — which makes me feel so old. I’ll be helping her get ready makeup/hair/girly stuff. Then the bf will probably force me to watch football… during which I will talk about non-sports related things, drink delicious drinks and catch up on blog reading
I’ll be heading over to my parent’s place for a while this weekend. My two brothers are coming to visit (one lives 5 hours away, the other 24 hours). It’s been a while since we were all together and my Dad is pretty excited and planning a huge BBQ for tomorrow. Plus he always makes a lot extra so I can take free food home with me for future meals. Score!
Sweet views, yo! Tomorrow I’m going out to dinner for a friend’s bday. The restaurant is BYOB, which means we’ll likely have 15 bottles of wine for 15 people. Standard.
im pretty sure you are just pretending to camp, that is niiice camping food. enjoy the rest of your weekend (how can you not with afternoon mimosas?!)
this weekend I’m doing my longest run ever of 18 miles and then going to the State fair of Texas
I want to go camping with you! Looks like lots of fun!
Seriously, I never thought camping looked like fun until I saw your style of camping. You guys have a uhaul, expensive meats, champagne and frozen yogurt…that’s better than I eat at home!
Reese is awesome!!
So happy you’re having a great time!!
Weekend…Bingo at my son’s school & dinner date tonite, Last LR before Long Beach, soccer & my daughter’s first homecoming tomorrow, Sunday…Halloween decorations go up!!
Can’t believe the holidays are around the corner already!!
Have a great weekend mi amiga!! xo
I love that your shoe laces and shirt seemingly match in your running pic….I am lucky if my shorts and top match!
Is that your Zensah tank? I just reviewed mine today and linked your review as well for readers. Ah, love me some camping and beachfront property with a tent sounds about perfect. The cooking taking place is blowing my mind. S’mores anyone??
Doing my first obstacle course race. Race for the Reaper – 8k, 18 obstacles. This is going to be awesome!
I can’t be jealous of the beach because I live right near one but I clearly need to use our tent – the camping looks like so much fun!
Have a wonderful rest of your trip!
I’ve been making the food recently. Terrible!
Man, I wish when I went camping we ate that well! That’s awesome! Looks like lots of fun. You girls also look great for camping! I always look greasy and totally disgusting when I camp. haha.
Hey girl – looks like fun! I love camping . . . especially when there are good cooks around. Sis and I are completing our first sprint triathlon! Temps in the high 30s on Sunday morning – bbbrrrrr. I hope you have a great weekend!
That’s some fancy camping!!
I don’t even cook stuff like that when I’m at home.
I haven’t been camping in so long, though you make it look fun!! I may have to add it to my plans next summer, it’s getting too cold up here for it now!
waaiiiiit a sec…froyo while camping? That’s not the kind of camping I’ve done. But I want in. I’m amused that your tank matches your shoe laces.
I am visiting my friend in Nashville this weekend and we got frozen yogurt at a place called Sweet Cece’s…YUM!
sitting at home. yea I’m cool like that. I have to work for three hours tomorrow, so I’m trying not to get too hopped up on Sam Adams pumpkin ale
Hope you’re having fun camping!
That sounds like a fantastic dinner! And the setting is gorgeous. sounds like you’re having a great time.
Running my first half marathon tomorrow. Super anxious!
Man that’s some high class camping! lol
Total change of subject from camping: do you ever get spooked running by yourself early morning? Especially when you’re somewhere new, like when you’re camping? I ask because I generally have to go running during the week at around 6ish and here (Italy) there’s hardly anyone to keep me company (= a bit scary at times!). I’m thinking of investing in a treadmill to get through the winter (i.e. dark mornings). Enjoy the rest of your trip
umm – GOLDEN SPOON IS AMAZING. And the girls on laguna beach always used to go there. Obviously, LC knows what’s up.
I hope you enjoyed my hood
! Too bad didn’t pass you on a run!
OMG I love, love, love Golden Spoon. I went to college in San Diego, and I miss that tasty, delicious, frozen concoction every day.
I hope you poured a little fro yo out for your homies.
