Bitter beer face.
Just enjoying my morning coffee on the boat.

If you are twittipated with me, you’ll know that I’m going to run Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas marathon in costume – as Elvis. My mom is actually going to sew me a costume. She might even sew a secret bacon, banana and PB sandwich in the skirt for me; isn’t that the Elvis sandwich?!
Speaking of costumes, check out Marlie’s costume for the relay: their team is the “ghost chickens in the sky“. I’m gonna force her to do a guest post about the relay… and if her feathers were ruffled.
I’m thinking I should borrow the chicken costume (yes, my little brother owns a chicken costume, weird?)
Maybe an SR shirt…
Nice work on the sweaty run and matching your camera to your shirt. stylish, girl.

oh thats clever. Is it going to be real? cause then you could just use the sandwich as a fuel source. hehe.
GO MARLIE!
I love the idea of racing in costume! The thanksgiving day race near me gets about 15 thousand runners, and I’d say about 5 thousand of them dress up. It’s soooo fun!
I ran Warrior Dash in a poofy sleaved prom dress. I have a prison inmate costume that I plan to incorporate into a race at some point. And I think for Chicago this year, instead of writing my real name, I’m going to put Hugh Jass or Faye Splant on my shirt. Then when people cheer for me, it will be uplifting and hilarious at the same time.
I can’t wait to see the pictures of that race! How many miles did Marlie run in that thing? I’m always super impressed by people who wear these things in long races. I think I’d be dying after a 5K in costume!
wow, i am already a bit too excited to see pix of u running as elvis, and u better have one of u taking a big old bite out of that sandwich too! lol. i’ve never ran a race in a costume, but for the long ones i give major props to people who can handle it. godspeed SR and shake those hips to do the King proud.
My bro and I were just talking about doing the Vegas rock-n-roll! We would do the half though!
Props 2 Marlie 4 running in the chicken costume!! She should get a 3-5 min. time reduction for her times!!
Props 2 SR 4 running as Elvis for LV R&R!
“Mani Pas-sayo!” – korean 4 “sell a lot”…of fish!!
I love racing in costume. That way people don’t realize how slow I am running–they can assume it’s because I’m dressed up. You could probably just wear a SR shirt though, and people might recognize you.
How did Marlie do on the relay?
Tell her I love the name since my youngest daughter is Marleigh!
Also, I don’t think Elvis put bacon on it. I think it was fried though!!!
LOVE the costume idea!
I’m so pumped to see how your costume works out!
Not like I needed MORE motivation to show up in Vegas, but if I did, the image of you as Elvis would most certainly have closed that deal!
I walked Bay to Breakers in costume – and made it into the papers/on TV! http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_18069111?nclick_check=1 (picture #21). Was a totally fun experience, but being stopped every few feet for pictures got to be a little tiring.
Hey…I saw your future sis in laws team at Ragnar too funny! You should definitely run this relay next year, I think it is right up your alley! I’m planning on putting together an all female team so I’ll put the word out next year if you are interested.
Hahahaha what a great costume idea! You will definitely stand out with that one (especially with some snack items on your skirt! Nice!)
Hoping to make it to Vegas for the Summit, fingers crossed it pans out with other holiday plans in the works!
Im going to be at the R&R vegas marathon too! I will be looking for you! Although im sure it will be a needle in a haystack with probably hundreds of other elvis’ out there.
I’m running the LV Rock and Roll Half! MY first. Eeek!!
More excited for the fun AFTER the race. hahah
