Get some clothes on: out to dinner with new friends

by SkinnyRunner on June 28, 2011

<The previous Get Some Clothes On segment at Buffalo Wild Wings>

Tonight we’re going out to dinner with some new friends so at 5:30pm I finally took a shower for the day and did something with my grease mop besides shine the wood floors.

The BEFORE jank face and hair:

And the slightly less jank AFTER:

**I just bought the top for $14.99 at Marshall’s.

I bought a M and probably should have bought a S since this thing could almost double as mini dress.  Or could be considered a prudish dress in Vegas.

**The jeans are William Rast from Nordstrom Rack.

If you haven’t bought a pair of skinny jeans because you’re afraid you’ll look like a Christmas ham stuffed in pantyhose, don’t worry; I thought that too, but they’re so comfortable nothing else matters.  They’re like lycra pajamas or even better, they’re like UGGS for your legs.  so comfy.

**The shoes are Michael Kors and are also really comfortable.  If you’re afraid of high heels, buy wedges.  I could run a 10k in these. seriously.

And if you don’t want to wash your hair, use the pretense that it’s healthier not too and then just curl it; dirty hair curls better anyways.

Really like your shirt! I love finding cute stuff with such great prices!

I like that shirt a lot. The M looks fine on you, especially with the skinny jeans. The baggy shirt goes well with those.
I wish I could rock out the dirty hair thing, but mine’s so thin that if not washed every 24 hours it seriously sticks to my head with grease. Gross.

Did I miss running Tuesday? I wanted to brag! I had a good run. Anyways, I don’t like mowing the grass. It’s growing like crazy in Wisconsin this year because we’ve had a lot of rain. Also – Thanks for sharing the book with your readers. A lot of people got a free copy. I hope they like it and get running.

Cute shirt. I always year a looser top if I’m squishing myself into skinny jeans!

Random question: do you wash your hair after every run? I hate washing my hair everyday-it is super dry and I highlight it, so it is better to not wash it every single day. But if I run or go to boot camp there is NO way I could not wash my hair. I sweat. I am looking for a magical solution. Dry shampoo would not cut it!

I have read that just rinsing it out well and using conditioner works, instead of shampooing every time:)

Cute shirt! You’re right dirty hair does curl better.

Love the shirt!

I agree, it’s better for your hair not to wash it every day. I havent washed mine in 3 days haha! I’ll make sure to though before I go to work tomorrow morning… you know, I have to smell good for my patients :D

Just bought some MK espadrilles that I am obsessed with…they really are SO comfy!

Loveee that top. You always find the best clothes at discount stores and nordstrom rack. I am so jealous! I think I lack the patience at stores like that? Or I just need to move to CA. My paleness would appreciate that.

I stopped washing my hair everyday awhile ago. First it was every other, then every third… Now? Every six-seven days -seriously! TMI? Lol, I shower everyday though, I promise!

Well think of it this way, at least you are stocked on shirts if you ever get pregnant! I’m currently 9 weeks along and am wishing I had shirts like that for the in between stages.

Yay for dirty hair curling better! And double yay for skinny jeans. I thought jeggings were stupid until I bought a pair and they are almost as comfy as my pjs.

Okay sooooo you took the words right out of my mouth when you said the “Christmas ham stuffed into denim” thing. As a runner and former gymnast I’ve learned to embrace these thighs and buns and rock skinny jeans anyway – I actually have a pair of William Rasts from the Rack that I LOVE too!
