Someone came and spoke at my running club a while back about Medals4Mettle. Pretty cool.

Are you familiar with Back on my Feet? http://www.backonmyfeet.org/ Organization to get homeless people involved in running as a way to build their self esteem and give them goals. If they participate in the weekly runs for a period of time, they get a subsidy towards getting out of the cycle of homelessness. They just launched their DFW chapter but doesn’t look like they’ve made it to the west coast yet.

Oooh! I totally want to donate some medals! Thanks for the link!

I’m doing a virtual one mile race “proof you didn’t peak in high school” :) but I’m not sure that really counts as news.

I am also doing TNT – it is wonderful. As a “non-runner”, it has helped me get started and motivated me to run for a reason :-)

I had the SAME reservation when i did it…but you would be surprised with all the awesome fundraising ideas you can come up with! i partnered with a frozen yogurt shop and had TNT night where if you had my TNT coupon, a dollar of your purchase would go to my fundraising! it was super fun, and gave me an excuse to have Froyo every wednesday night…for a good cause! ;0)

you should for sure check them out though…it’s a total life changing experience, and i highly recommend it!
