Ready Stacey B.  Yeaahhhh baby!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you seen Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition?  It’s pretty much The Biggest Loser with a trainer who has a really girly voice.  Or that’s the gist I got after watching it for 14 seconds.
r
You have to be on one show: EM:WLE  or  TBL?
I think I’d choose Extreme Makeover because you get the one-on-one attention but I don’t know if I could handle Chris’ voice… it might drive me to binge eat.
And speaking of TBL, did you hear that Anna Kournikova is replacing Jillian Michaels?  What think you of this?  Who do you think should replace Jillian?
What? I don’t think Anna has it in her.
What?? Is Anna even a trainer???
Laura June 15, 2011 at 8:06 pm
Not excited for Anna, but I hope she proves me wrong. It will be cool to see them do tennis work outs though.
Honestly, Anna looked like a complete waif on the finale. She looked unhealthy and if that is the image Biggest Loser/NBC wants to portray, then I don’t think I will be watching the show anymore. I don’t think you could find anyone more unlike Jillian from what I can tell. I think picking her is a disappointment. How about someone who has some leg definition and muscle tone and looks to be with in a healthy weight range? How about you SR?! ;)
Josephine June 15, 2011 at 8:13 pm
I think pretty much ANYONE except Anna should replace Jillian. I don’t plan on watching the show anymore after that replacement and Bob’s supplement promotion – blehhhh!
Not a good choice.
I did not like the looks of Anna at all. I should give her a chance, but I didnt get why she was unhealthy skinny and sounded kind of….silly. I love TBL and love love love Jillian, so I’m hoping all goes well in the new season.
I don’t think anyone can every compare to Jillian, ever. I watched a segment with Anna though playing tennis with everyone and they were having a blast with her and really into it :) She seems like a fun yet good coach. I don’t know how she’ll be with having to really push people to break their barriers though.
Brittany June 15, 2011 at 9:01 pm
I saw the EM:WLE and it cannot compare to the biggest loser – although I do appreciate being able to see an entire transformation in just one hour, it’s very rewarding :) I just do a lot of fast forwarding through the whining… THANK YOU DVR!!! lol
There is no way Anna can replace Jillian.. and when they announced that at the end of the finale she showed up in the hoochiest outfit and I was NOT impressed. I thought I liked her as a tennis player.. but she just acted dumb on the show. Hopefully next season is better but I will always be team black — Jillian.
Not an Anna fan. She looked stick thin at the finale. Not sure that playing tennis/dating Enrique makes her a qualified trainer/therapist. Hope she proves me wrong!
Reply
chacha June 15, 2011 at 9:10 pm
Oh, Good Lord, I have lots to say about Ana Kournikova and BL.
She looked like a fibrous skeleton when she walked out on the stage at the finale. I think, while she may be healthy and feel good, this is not a “normal” weight (and she did not look like that when she was a professional tennis player). It does not seem like the right message for Biggest Loser. I was super turned-off by the whole thing.
I don’t think anyone could replace Jillian. I don’t think Anna has the strong personality.
Reply
jessica kiehn June 15, 2011 at 9:16 pm
I just think it doesn’t make any sense at all, Anna to replace Jillian. Jillian is like buff and all in your face and intimidating. Anna is just plain SKINNY…i mean SKINNY! Not buff. And seems like too sweet and kinda la la la to even understand the seriousness that the show really is to these contestants. Probably the LAST person on earth i’d think they’d pick to replace Jillian. crazy!
RunningMama June 15, 2011 at 9:17 pm
I don’t think anyone can replace Jillian, but I do think they could find someone better than Anna. Remember Simon Cowell? I think Idol’s doing okay without him!
Alisa @ Runs With Knives June 15, 2011 at 9:33 pm
I am NOT looking forward to Anna. Jillian was tough and that was because she loved them so much and wanted to see the success, but the key part is that she was TOUGH. It was a good balance to Bob, who is a big ol’sweetheart. Anna, well, I just don’t see her as tough. I see her being a bigger wimp than Bob could ever be. Plus if I was a contestant and didn’t want to do what she said, I would just tell her I can snap her in half, then do it.
Heather June 15, 2011 at 10:11 pm
It seems odd to have Anna be the replacement. Whats her story? How is able to emotionally help these people? At least Jillian could relate to them on some level, can she???
One idea, maybe someone from the Oxygen Mag. Like Tosca Reno or some other person who could relate with the people who come to the ranch.
((shrugs)) IDK
Def. NOT Anna! I don’t think she’d motivate me. She’d motivate me to eat a container of “chunky monkey” ice cream though!! :)
I think Jamie Eason would be a great one!! She’s been featured on Oxygen magazine a few times and has an awesome, healthy physique!!
I think TBL. The hardest part would be 2 stay away from my family though!! :(
Yeah, I don’t get why they are having Anna do this. I didn’t see the finale that everyone is talking about, but to me this is kind of silly. It’s one thing to be an amazing athlete. It’s another to be the trainers/coaches that get you there.
My favourite moment on The Biggest Loser when they announced that Anna K was joining to replace Jillian, was watching a woman in the front row. She literally did the wrinkled nose and slow clapping, and a huge look of disapproval across her face of the choice. I laughed soooo hard at that! I think Anna won’t cut it. One season, maybe. And wouldn’t it be interesting if they did the same routine where all the players working with a specific trainer (Anna) got kicked off, and she was supposed to go, then what would they do with her? We’ll see….
not a fan. does she even have any certifications?!
she won a couple of junior tournaments in tennis, got to the big tournaments, lost, then decided to take up acting and modeling…. she is kind of a running joke in my tennis-loving family haha. not a good role model if you ask me!!
Why is Anna carrying a tennis racquet in the photos? Is she going to beat up the contestants with it? Looks stoopid.
Pink Runner June 16, 2011 at 4:17 am
I LOVED Jillian and I’m not very happy to see Anna. Anna hasn’t always looked so healthy. I think Jackie Warner from Bravo’s “Work Out” would have been a better choice.
I think the Biggest Loser is going to bomb starting next season.
Holly @ The Runny Egg June 16, 2011 at 4:29 am
I think Anna is such a strange choice! I thought for sure they’d pick a former contestant who is now a trainer. I think that would be very motivating!
Reply
Carie@nodieting June 16, 2011 at 4:47 am
I can’t see Anna really motivating people to change their view of themselves like Jillian did. She also doesn’t seem like the type that would get really mad and scream at you, which is what some people need!
Reply
JenH June 16, 2011 at 5:07 am
Love Jillian. Completely disappointed with the Anna choice. Don’t understand it at all. Jackie Warner(earlier suggestion) would have been great! She’s tough & a great trainer. I give Anna a season if she can even finish.
Reply
Emily M June 16, 2011 at 5:21 am
I don’t think Anna is a good choice. I don’t think she’s a trainer(?) and people only know her for tennis. She just won’t come close to filling Jillian’s shoes. Weird choice.
Stephanie @ Vegetarian Bakeaholic June 16, 2011 at 5:23 am
I don’t think she should replace her…being an athlete, no matter how talented, does not automatically qualify you to train other people. No idea who it should be though…
Gracie (complicated day) June 16, 2011 at 5:32 am
That voice is genuinely annoying. I think the choice of Anna indicates a change in the show’s make-up: it’s leaning more towards pop and less towards science.
Reply
Misty June 16, 2011 at 6:17 am
I completely agree. Her voice reminds me of Russian Paris Hilton! Plus she has a tendency to do the baby-whispery-soft talk that drives me crazy. Speak up woman, and enunciate!
kari @running ricig June 16, 2011 at 5:43 am
I don’t think Anna could really inspire quite as much as Jillian. Then again, I’ve never watched either show, so maybe I should be offering random opinions :)
I can’t believe they replaced Jillian with Anna Kournikova. I guess BL was in need of a little eye candy?!?! sigh.
I think they should replace Jillian with Zuzana from BodyRock.TV. Her body’s killer (in a ripped abs kinda way) … and her workouts are short and fierce.
Reply
SaraRM June 16, 2011 at 5:55 am
Anna Kournikova?!?!!?….. Ya that doesnt seem like a very wise decision. She is beautiful yes but what does she know about training people?
Reply
Mary June 16, 2011 at 5:59 am
I dont’ know how I feel about anna replacing jillian. I think bob might have to step it up and be more hardcore than jillian used to be. We’ll see though!
Reply
Casie June 16, 2011 at 6:09 am
Anna Kournikova is NO JILLIAN!!! Is it wrong that I’m so mad about this replacement?!?!?
Reply
Michelle Reeve June 16, 2011 at 6:10 am
I’d be curious to see what Anna brings to the table. She doesn’t strike me as someone that’s ever struggled with her weight; so, while having a training certification will allow her take weight off of the contestants, will they keep it off without dealing with the emotional issues behind it?
Reply
Jody, RD June 16, 2011 at 6:22 am
What qualifications does Anna have to train? Probably none – just like Jillian. I’m not a Jillian fan from a professional standpoint. So I guess it doesn’t matter to me.
Reply
JunieB June 16, 2011 at 6:23 am
dumbest thing ever! i couldnt believe it when they announced that at the finale of BL.
as far as which one i would do, while i loooooooooooooooove BL, i would do the other one because you get to be at home, they turn your house into a gym and buy all your food and i could still go to work! obviously i have been watching WLE. I am obsessed with these kinds of shows.
Reply
michelle June 16, 2011 at 6:54 am
She should stick to tennis not training… what is the show thinking. It’s like Ellen on American Idol. That was a bad choice.
Reply
Cait's Plate June 16, 2011 at 6:55 am
I think I would choose the biggest loser. I’m not so thrilled about Anna coming on as the new trainer – I kind of feel like, is she even qualified?! I’m REALLY surprised that’s who they picked to replace Jillian of all people! But I guess they wanted to pick someone less qualified because word on the street was every season Jillian pushed for changes to make the show better. So they probably just want someone who will come in, look cute and keep quiet…
Alana June 16, 2011 at 8:19 am
Not excited for Anna! Jillian’s bitchiness & passion is unparalleled.
2blu2btru June 16, 2011 at 8:47 am
I think I get where they were going with the choice–to introduce a different kind of workout style and different workouts than Jillian would have them doing–but I don’t get the person. If I had to pick a tennis pro, it’d be Rafael Nadal–someone known for being fit, going five sets, and who is always pushing themselves…not sure he has time, though ;-) .
Real choices would have been people who teach different ways of working out, like a Shaun T. or Cathe Friedrich or the Zumba guy, if they were looking for something different. If they were looking for bubbly motivation, I’d go old school and get Denise Austin, crazy eyes and all. :D
I should replace Jillian Michaels. I want that job! I’m a physician and used to be a fitness instructor. Anna is better looking than me, though…
Reply
Natalie June 16, 2011 at 9:18 am
You CAN NOT replace Jillian :-) I don’t like Anna, she’ll have to do a lot to prove me wrong!
Reply
Rose June 16, 2011 at 10:08 am
I’d prefer a trainer with experience being a trainer.
You know who would be hilarious (and used to own a gym with Jillian)? Jackie Warner. HILARIOUS.
Reply
Tracey June 16, 2011 at 10:27 am
Wow… I was going to come on here and say that I am NOT a fan of Anna replacing Jillian… and then I realized that so many people agreed.
I think that Anna looked abnormally skinny on the finale when they introduced her. She looked unhealthy, which I think is ridiculous, since she is supposed to be the walking example of good health.
I also think that just because you train for one sport (which she was never the best at!) does not make you an expert. Does she have her personal training certification? Or is someone off camera going to develop the plan, and she will just be on the on – screen face to “deliver” it. Either way… I’m not a fan… I just don’t think she’s the right fit and she isn’t the example that Biggest Loser should be looking for.
Anna has some BIG/HUGE shoes to fill!!!! Not a fan of this at all, does she even have any personal training experience? I think they just wanted a pretty face.
Niki’s hair looks adorable dark!
I also agree with every one else, Anna K. on biggest loser is weird.
Reply
Becci June 18, 2011 at 6:55 am
I think somebody needs to train Anna K. how to eat a cheeseburger. Her legs are so skinny I worry about them snapping every time she takes a step. (I saw a pic of her when she was a tennis player and looked muscular and healthy. She should have stuck with that look instead of embracing skeleton chic.) And, don’t even get me started about her lack of actual training experience…
Seriously, the guy’s voice on EM: WLE is really, really annoying, but I do like getting to see the whole transformation in 1 hour, and I kind of like that they offer them surgery to remove all of the extra saggy, chicken-neck-y skin all over their body (instead of just making them wear girdles like on the BL).
