WORKOUT – Ran outside in WA (no rain!) 12.1 miles/1:34
Today was such a great morning to run; it was one of those runs where you feel much slower than you’re actually going. You think you’re running 9 min/miles and you look at your garmin and see you’re doing 7:45s. It doesn’t happen often, but I love when it does.
My parents’ backyard.
I wanted to get my run in early before I headed to the boat so I had to multitask: taking self portraits while coffee drinking. My 2 favorite things!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Random things I’m doing today:
–Buying 20-24 gallons of milk for the boat from the local dairy.
–Shampooing the carpet in the boat wheelhouse.
You doing anything random today??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let’s have some Cat lady Blogs!
Today’s lucky lass is Julia from JuliaandTyler.
I started by blog to chronicle my engagement, wedding-planning (3 years ago) and vent about the massive list of to-dos that came with that. But it has since morphed into a blog about my boring ole life, in general. Running included.
My husband and I are preparing to set forth on the exciting, yet scary, odyssey of backing our bags and moving far away from the area in which I’ve always lived (the DC area). We’re headed to either Texas or California while my husband pursues an MBA.
I’m leaving almost everything I know and love here in DC and my hope is that running can remain one constant in my life once we’ve move. I think it will be a great way to meet new friends in a new town and I really hope that blogging can facilitate that!
I’ve always toyed around with "running"– ever since I realized there were calories in donuts (at about age 15), but I didn’t get serious about it until I ran my first half marathon in October 2010. It was a phenomenal and— dare I say—life-changing experience.
To be really freaking honest, I don’t blog about running all that much. Usually only once or twice a week, and even then it’s sometimes only a brief blurb. But the fact remains that running is–and hopefully always will be– a passion in my life.
So, if you want this chick to find new running friends in her new town, then throw some "Cat Lady Blog" action my way.
, I would like to own your arms. The end.
Everyone go check out Julia’s blog and say a friendly hello. Thanks for the email!

That is a lot of milk!
The random thing I’m doing today is deciding whether or not to adopt another little furbaby…
Hope you guys have a safe fishing trip.
Pretty yard!! What’s hanging in the back – lanterns?
I’m pretty sure I had the exact opposite run as you today — hot, muggy, suffocating. Still worth it though
OMG- your parents backyard is BEAUTIFUL!!!
oh my GOD! I DO know that feeling…except I think I’m running a 9:30..but..I’m really running…11:30 miles. Way to rain on my parade, cloud.
This is not trying to be mean at all, I promise, but SR you are smoking crack! You don’t want stick arms, no female should strive for that.
That is a lot of milk!
Have safe trip! Don’t stay gone too long
“Milk does your body good!!”
I love runs like that! When everything feels smooth…ahhhh!!
Your parents backyard is beautiful!!
i think you sent the rain here. It has rained for weeks and now it poured! so no running, but I think I’ll wash my floors with you and feel like cinderella!
I need a run like that. Mine have sucked recently!
Either the arms or abs, ha ha!
That amount of milk could kill the lactose-intolerant folk like myself.
Seriously! You know, arms, or abs, or both … I’d be happy with any of those options!
Yay for no rain here in Washington!! Wished I lived closer to your parents so I could send you off on your cruise, er, I mean your fishing trip =}
“You think you’re running 9 min/miles and you look at your garmin and see you’re doing 7:45s”……yeah, this has never happened to me!
Happy milk shopping!
Good find on the cat lady blog, she lives in my hometown!
I wonder how long it’ll take your boat to go through that milk. It would probably take me 5 years to go through that much.
Their back yard is absolutely gorgeous!! I would dieee for some morning sunshine and grass like that. Upstate NY is nottttt the place to live if you want good weather!
I wish I was doing something random today. I’ll live vicariously through everyone that is!
Julia, come to SoCal! Weather is ideal for running!!
Wow. It’s so green and beautiful there. Have fun buying milk and cleaning carpets…sounds about as exciting as my week. Today I’m hanging pics in our new house, shopping for random home goods, running and listening to the toilet run…since 3:00 a.m.! Seriously, we need to find a new handyman…he’s supposedly fixed it the last two times.

Holy milk batman!
One random thing I’m doing today is going out for lunch now that the lunch I packed is being held hostage in the conference room refridgerator, argh!
Hi SR, for marathon do you recommend compression sleeves or socks?? Thanks so much for your intelligent input!
So, do you have to freeze most of the milk?
hopefully the milk is from Ed & Aileen’s Dairy!!
Great run to start off your trip. Safe travels and buy some cookies to go with that milk!
how doesn’t the milk spoil?
Indeed a lot of milk!
Liked your outfit this am very cute!
Dang I want her abs!
Have fun in Bham and on your trip! I grew up on Whidbey Island and love that area. Stay Safe!

Yeah for no rain in WA! Love the backyard!
Wow. That sure is an awful lot of milk! Hope you have a great trip! I didn’t really do anything odd today. But I was given a coffee with 6 splenda.. when I ordered it black. Pretty big mix up!
WOAH. I grew up DOWN THE STREET from Julia’s (cat lady blog) husband. He and my brother were in the same graduating class. Freaking small world.
Julia!
so strange, my husband and I currently live in the San Francisco bay area and are moving out to Arlington/d.c area for the summer. I am just hoping I can figure out how to run out there.
anyway you should move to the bay area running is a total dream here.
hey hottie blogger, I’m leaving Texas, tell me where you are moving to and I’ll let you know what to do….meaning where to eat!
those abs are to. die. for.
