Back in Black

by SkinnyRunner on April 18, 2011

**Go check out Carrot ‘N’ Cake right now.  DO IT!

Got all my stuff ready last night and was set for a 5:30am wake up call which isn’t too terribly early for a big race.  I need to be at the bus stop around 7 so I have plenty of time to do my pre-race thang.

DSCN2757

This is the tentative eats plan:

DSCN2758

2 cups of coffee this morning, the CLICK Espresso Protein drink (mixed with a bottle of water) while I wait for my 10:20am start, the Clif bar 30 minutes before start time and then the GU gel and cinnamon bears for the race.

I didn’t bring any gels with me on the trip because a few people said the airport security might take them so I brought candy instead.  Genius, I hope.  There’s nearly four 110 calorie servings so I’ll eat them like GU’s I guess.

DSCN2760DSCN2761

Thank you all for your kind words, emails and comments about this race and weekend.

Thank you to Jeremiah for hooking me up with sweet gear.

Thanks to my mom for no reason except just being awesome.

I’m trying hard to bring back the high ponytail look…

Sportin’ this pink zebra BIC band, 26.2 Apparel outfit and Zensah compression socks.

Off to do #17.

woohoo! Good luck!!

I’ve taken gels on a plane a couple of times and don’t even bother putting them in my “liquids bag.” They scanned my bag once to see if it has traces of explosives, but that’s about it.

Loving the high pony.

Just out of curiosity, what is the necklace you are wearing? Does it have a special significance (i.e. a good luck charm), or are you just wearing it?

Reply

SkinnyRunner April 18, 2011 at 1:03 pm

one is a tiffany starfish that my husband gave me (our beach wedding’s theme was starfish) and the other is a diamond necklace my dad designed for me for an engagement gift so both have meaning and i rarely take them off.
