WORKOUT – Ran on TM  7.8 miles/60 mins   .1 incline

It was raining this morning in Phoenix so I went to the (retirement) community gym with my mom’s friend Alice.  We were the youngest ladies in there… by about 50 years.  And I think all the crusty old men were eying Alice on the elliptical.

For most of the run I was able to read RUN! by Dean Karnazes which Pam gave me to borrow.  It’s an easy, fast reading book so it wasn’t too bad to read while on the treadmill except for the last 10 minutes.  I was getting tired and didn’t want to concentrate anymore.  That’s the excuse I’m going to start using for everything: I was too tired to concentrate!

After lunch us ladies did a little shopping; the first stop was Jaymo’s first home, Nordstrom Rack.  My goodies:  (thanks, Mom!)

Coral colored We Are Free zip up sweater $39.99

I thought the gathering in the back was cute.

Juicy Couture Down Dog Couture yoga/running tights $27.97

I had no idea Juicy Couture now sells workout clothes.  I think these are really considered yoga clothing, but I’m going to wear these as running tights since they’re spandexy and tight.

Juicy Couture Down Dog Couture yoga shorts $19.97

These are cotton shorts with a rollover waist.  I bought these as loungewear, not running since they’re cotton and I don’t want swampbutt…

The backside.

Royal Love thin tank top blouse with zipper in the back $16.97

I liked the light pink and grey colors together, but this will definitely need a tank underneath since there’s not much to it and it’s see-through.  Kinda like my personality.

Then we stopped at Costco to pick up some steaks for dinner and I found another little gem:

Tuff Athletics jacket $19.97

DSCN2397

I think this is similar to a Lululemon jacket, but I could be way off since I don’t actually own any Lululemon.  But it has the thumb holes so I can still act really cool in my knock off.  My mom also got one for herself in a coral color that’s supercute on her.

And because no Costco trip is complete without bubbly, I also bought a bottle of Prosecco (Italian champagne) and a jar of Maranatha almond butter.  Dinner’s served.

Wow I’m impressed that you can read and run at the same time.

You got some cute clothes. I work out sometimes in a(retirement)community gym when I go visit family. Sometimes I can get some strange looks.

Great clothes finds. I also picked up the almond butter at costco. It’s a really great deal.

How do you read while you’re running? I think I’d either get vertigo and fall off the treadmill or I’d get too wrapped up in the book and fall off the treadmill. One way or the other I’d fall off.

Love the new clothes!

Its kinda funny reading this because I have that same Tuff jacket on. I love it! I have it in cyan and black. Wore it to a soccer game today and the thumb holes came in handy since it was cold and windy here in Oregon. Costco is like a treasure hunt you never know what kinda deal your gonna find.

I bought 2 of those jackets from Costco, and I LOVE them. I feel like they’d be similar to Lululemon also. I’m also obsessed with the matching capris.

Girl I dunno if I’m more impressed with all of the miles you’ve logged this week or the fact that you were able to READ while running!! That’s some hardcore multi-tasking if you ask me!! Kuddos!! :) I’m sure the “crusty old men” stayed 20 mins. longer in the gym to check BOTH of you ladies out!!

Cute clothes! I esp. love the zip-up sweater!! Kuddos to your very generous mom!

Have a relaxing evening!! :)

I really do like THUMBHOLES in my long sleeve shirts. Much more cozy.

Although when I’m running, I get a little stuffy if I use the holes, so I usually just use them when I’m lounging around.

Such cute stuff! I also didn’t own any Lululemon prior to like 2 weeks ago. One pair of groove pants and an in-stride jacket later I was hooked.

If your fam lives in Sun City, do you go to the Arrowhead Costco? I was totally there today and would have died running into you in the almond butter aisle, lol!! Hope you’re enjoying the chilly weather!

I WISH I could work out in a retirement gym. I’d feel right at home. No bustin’ speed records here.

Super cute clothes, I love how you share what you bought complete with pictures. So jealous of the Tuff Athletics jacket, none of the Costco’s here have it.
