WORKOUT – Elliptical 70 mins
I went to the gym this morning and was reading November’s issue of SHAPE magazine; I want to copy a short question and answer article that I thought was pretty good.
“I’ve put on a few pounds and I’m not happy about the way I look. I’m trying to lose the weight, but until then how can I build my self-esteem?”
“Whether you’re a size 6 or a 16, you’re still the same person, deserving of care, attention, and love. And remembering that will help you reach your goal. The happier you are with your current shape, the more motivated you’ll be to eat healthier and work out.”
Your first step should be to focus on your assets. Start a journal and write down what you like about your body, and play up those features… The point is, you want to enjoy your body as it is now, rather than putting off all fun until some future time.
Though it may sound simplistic, these small steps can give your confidence a big boost…. Being happy with your weight is important, but don’t let your self-worth be determined by a number on a scale.”

Who wants some more Cat lady Blogs?
Today’s featured blogger babe is Kari from JoggingwithFiction!
I started blogging a few months ago because I give in to peer pressure easily and my mom keeps telling me to write a book. Sometimes blogs get made into books right? Unfortunately, I don’t think my content really lends itself to anything longer than a pamphlet.
My family has always been super active. Vacations and holidays regularly consist of 17 mile bike rides and feats of strength competitions.
I mostly blog about running and exercising with my super cute new husband, Mike, and even cuter and newer dog, Bungee.
You tell me whose cuter.
I find myself entertaining, but I think it’s time more people thought so. I also post incredibly easy recipes every once in a while. I love to eat, but I’m not a very skilled chef (nor do I have enough money to really experiment with groceries). So I create my own version of delicious cuisine.
Now everyone go check out Kari’s blog who says she’s a lefty. Thanks Kari for the email!
Are you a lefty or a righty?
I’m a South Paw, God’s chosen ones.

righty
I’m dealing with an issue like that right now.. it’s like you knew and put that quote in there for me, lol. Thanks
I’m one of God’s chosen ones as well and enjoy being a South Paw. Makes us different! Here’s to Lefties!!!!
I’m a righty. I think Shape eloquently expressed what I’ve been trying to tell people for years: your life is now, not somewhere down the line when everything falls into place, so make the best of it. A reminder I needed as well.
I’m a lefty! For some reason I feel really special…seriously
I am a righty. I don’t know many lefties, actually. My 2 year old niece might be a lefty. I’m glad she’s living in an era where schools don’t try to force lefties to become righties. I can’t imagine how hard that would be.
ahhh! So exciting!!
“The happier you are with your current shape, the more motivated you’ll be to eat healthier and work out.”
AMEN GIRL!
When I feel skinny I have less desire to eat but when I feel fat its all I can think about and I chow down the whole world!
We just got to be positive!:)
righty…
that q&a thing is great!!!!
south paw as well
Righty all the way!
Lefty! Which really means I’m completely ambidextrous since I grew up with hand-me-down athletic gear from my right-handed sister
i’m a southpaw too and feel superiour to all rightys hahah.
I love how you tie in celebrities with your posting and make us all relate!
I definitely get caught up on the # on the scale, but if my jeans fit, I really shouldn’t care how “dense” I am, right?
yay, for Cat Lady Blogs!
The magazine q & a is really good. I love that magazines have been focusing more on positive body image, but there are parts of health magazines that could definitely improve.
Love the Q&A! Even though I want to lose a few lbs and tighten up all over, I’m making self-acceptance my #1 goal for the new year
Lefties RULE!!
Southpaw here!
i’m a lefty- the BEST way to be of course
Happy New Year!
Southpaw! In high school I was the only leftie on our water polo team and always felt special
Thanks for posting that Q&A from Shape..its super easy to get obsessed with what you want to look like and forget to be happy now.
south paw for me!
I’m a lefty too!

Thanks for sharing that article!
And I’m a righty…although I’m a lefty on some activities.

What a great reminder that truly living means embracing our daily accomplishments and celebrating each decision we make and each step we take towards our goals while still living in the *now* moments.
I’m a lefty too! Just found your blog, so if your site tracking alerts you to someone creeping through your archives, it’s probably me : )
Oh and to answer the question.. I’m a righty. My dad is a lefty. Maybe my kids will be ambidextrous?
