Stories from the grave

WORKOUT – Ran outside 10.55 miles/1:31 + 3.5 mile walk w/ dog

Hills, couple miles of trails, no music, legs are tired.

So these aren’t really stories from the grave; they’re just stories from this morning…

So I wear long sleeves this morning but eventually wrap the shirt around my waist because it’s too hot.

At mile 5 I see a quarter and am working on putting it in that little front pouch/pocket that’s in the front of Nike tempo shorts when a dude walks by and stares at me.

I’m almost positive he thought I was digging in my crotch. You’re welcome, sir, and happy Friday to you.

Then later when I was walking Marni at the park, a biker and I were both filling up our water bottles at the fountain. He noticed me and said, “You’re a runner, aren’t you?”

I inwardly and smugly thought, “Thank you buff arm muscles and amazing leg tone; there ain’t no denying this physical specimen!”

Then I looked down… I was wearing Mizuno RUNNING shoes, Drymax RUNNING socks, Nike tempo RUNNING shorts, Champion SPORTS tank top, Garmin RUNNING watch, RUNNING sunglasses, and a handheld water bottle.

If I wasn’t a runner, the only other thing I could possibly be is an overzealous walking advertisement for The Sports Authority.

It’s Halloween weekend which means lots of candy which means awesomeness which also means tighter pants which means unawesomeness.

But now at least you can be aware of how many calories you’re shoving in your mouth in between trick-or-treaters… maybe it’s better not to know…

Mine is probably peanut M&M’s; I like the peanut butter ones but not the ones with peanuts in them.

Last year we were in North Dakota pheasant hunting so I didn’t do much trick-or-treating, but you know I did some candy eating.

A year later and I still have no idea what I’m doing in this picture.

What are you going to be this weekend? I don’t know if I’m dressing up or not, but we’re going to a haunted house tonight.
