Workout tips from celebrities

by SkinnyRunner on August 21, 2010

Who wants celebrity trainers advice and tips for free??

Carrie Underwood and her newlywed husband Mike Fischer.  Her personal trainer says of Carrie,

“She trains like a pro athlete,” reveals Tony, adding that during her 45-minute sessions, the singer does walking lunges and jumping squats. As to how she stays on target, he admits, “She’s very competitive!”

The Hill’s actress Lo Bosworth’s workout routine, according to fitsugar.com:

Spin (50 minutes, two to three times a week): Lo has often talked about her love of spinning, even if her BFF Lauren Conrad is not a fan. Lo says that she appreciates the instructor’s “drill-sergeant commands and the loud, pumping jams . . . I burn roughly 500 calories in a 50-minute class.”

Kettlebells (30 minutes, two times a week): Although Lo pencils in a kettlebell workout two times a week, she says it’s probably more likely she’ll only make it to one. “I hate his class, but it does make my butt less jiggly so I go. It’s hardcore strength training: you lift your kettlebell weight at the same time as you lunge, squat or dance around. It’s hard. After my very first class I couldn’t move for about a week.”

Yoga (60 minutes, one time a week): Yoga is another class she dislikes, but still goes to in order to get the benefits. But having a workout partner to go to class with makes things easier for Lo — especially since it’s her sister!

Kelly Ripa

“I work out every day, and I make sure do something different every day,” said Ripa. “I like to do SoulCycle, Physique 57, and I even like the Tracey Anderson Method. Throw them together, and there you go — I mix them all up.”

By mixing things up, not only does Ripa avoid the pitfalls of getting bored, but she is also able to maintain her petite figure.

Because Ripa is so disciplined about exercising and keeping her workouts fun, she feels she is in the best shape of her life.

“Depending on the course of my day,” Ripa said, “I’ll work out 45 minutes to an hour and a half every day. It has become a very important part of my life.”

is it so hard for at least one celeb to come out with it and just say “i was born this way”?! or “i don’t eat the way a normal person eats”?! cameron diaz has never been fat, she does yoga, and she’s like 70…she’s born to make us jealous.

Kettlebells? Why would you do that to yourself? Well…might consider it for a box of cupcakes…

I’m sorry but Kelly Ripa looks gross. She’s a mix of Madonna and a teenage boy. She needs to EAT SOMETHING!

Carrie’s great, though :)

Well I too look gross because my (light) weight lifting left me veiny and a bit too skinny, but, you know, I used to have a plump body that got plumper with age and running alone didn’t help.

My Madonnaish, boyish, muscular body isn’t exactly what my dream body was, but it’s all I could get if I didn’t want to be overweight.

If I wanted to look like Jennifer Aniston or Elle MacPherson, I should have been created taller with a different muscular asset.

I’m a petite and I all I could get was a Madonna and Kelly Ripa body, and I love it anyway, as much as I admire Kelly for all the effort she puts in her exercise

I’m not trying to minimize Carrie’s workout, which I think is awesome, but let’s be honest- pro athletes work out for a lot more than 45 minutes a day. lol
