Running Tuesday!

by SkinnyRunner on August 17, 2010

Actress Sophie Monk’s doing it (with her hands full of gear) and you should too.  Join in on Running Tuesday! and let us all know what your workout today looks like.  Everyone join in… or I will come hunt you down.  with crazy Mel Gibson at my side regulating.

Time for a new Cat lady Blogs! since I’m still in town.

Today’s fabulous lady is Chase from TheChaseProject.

My blog is The CHASE Project.  My name is Chase but for this, it stands for Choose Health And Self Esteem.  So my blog aims to be a conversation among readers for how to make positive choices in their life with regard to both health and self-esteem.

Intermixed you’ll also find completely unrelated stories about my life and rants about other miscellaneous subjects, but I try to provide tips and suggestions along the lines of my overall theme at least once a week.  I just moved, so my blog took a back burner for a couple weeks while I got organized, but I’m back at it again.

Also, I teach Group Ex classes (Les Mills specifically www.lesmills.com ) and I talk about those a lot too.  Plus I have other pages about how I’ve been trying to lose some weight I put on over the last couple years and how I’m training for a half marathon in October and full marathon in March.

Chase on the left teaching spin class.

So everyone go check out Chase’s blog and say hi!  Thanks Chase for being a part of Clb, and I love the name and what it stands for.

I should have woke up at run 4 miles early this morning, but I just wasn’t feeling it, so hopefully I’ll do those late this evening. I’m so jealous of people that live in climates where it’s possible to run at any time they please!

That’s an idea; go running and take your purse with you. You never know when you might need to check your lipstick…

I’m afraid I have a date with the treadmill again tonight…Might set him up, though… ;)

After work today I’m getting in 8 miles! It’s not as humid today as it’s been so I’m actually looking forward to it!

nothing too exciting for today’s running Tuesday…just a little over 6 miles (plan called for 1 Easy, 4 Mid Tempo Pace, 1 Easy). I was pleased that I ran negative splits and I blew my mid tempo pace out of the water! Now time to rest up for the big 18 on Thursday…a new PDR for me!

Is she eating and running? Today I ran to the gym & back, while there doing 30 min elliptical & 10 min on the arc trainer. All I had time for this AM!

Today, I’m running. I hope to get at least 3 miles on the treadmil (wish I could run outside, but the Texas heat is killer).

My Tuesday workout is spinning for 60 minutes followed by 30 minutes in the sauna. *sigh* can’t wait!

heading to the gym to cross train today, and I will not be carrying my purse lol!

Sadly I don’t have time for a workout today, but I did run 2.25 mi yesterday as part of my 5K training. I can deal with holding stuff in my hand while running, however, holding something under my arm like that would be a bit awkward.

Yay Tuesday!! Today’s workout =
2 mile warm up
1x1000m at tempo with 2 mins recovery
4x1000m at interval pace with 3 mins recovery
2x500m at race pace with 400m recovery
2 mi cool down.

my usual 6 on tuesday mornings. Picked up the speed a little but the humidity wasn’t nearly as bad so I felt like I could sprint the 6 miles.

Reply

Kellie August 17, 2010 at 8:37 am

Oh wow! That’s a lot of stuff to carry!

Tuesdays are speed training for me. 800×200 five times! Torture!

Jamie August 17, 2010 at 1:07 pm

what exactly does this mean? 160000??? ;)

Holding an iPod/Cell/Camera I understand but how can she hold ALL that and have something under her arm? Too crazy for me. I’d drop it all then crush it with one step.

Becky August 17, 2010 at 8:46 am

today is an hour of weights and then a speed work out. 14 x 400 at 7:53 pace, 1 min rest in between! Love speed days!

5 miles on the docket for me! Training for a marathon in the fall and today is my easy run… hah, I love that I can say that now. 3 years ago, an easy run was to the car and back in the rain.

Reply

Totally agree, it’s been hot in the NW. I am used to running when it’s cooler!

I am sooo excited, my good friend and I decided to do a super sprint triathlon in October and we started training yesterday. Today we are going to do 30 minutes on the bike and run for 15…yippee!!!

I’m taking a rest day today since I did a 1/2 IRONMAN on Sunday. I don’t know how you do so many long runs back to back, I’m still sore!

Holly August 17, 2010 at 9:47 am

I plan to do about 5 miles, hills at 9,000 feet altitude.

Ran 5 miles this morning in 44:24 and then did an abs class on my lunch break. I usually only hold my mp3 player.

I played tennis today in my new Champion empire waist top-thanks for the rec! You should get commission. (FYI, anyone out there thinking of getting one, if you’re tall, go a size up for the length.) Running Wednesday for me tomorrow!

i agree: you should get commission off those tops!!! …i bought 3.

i wonder how many gazilliom of us unhesitantly sacrificed money to the Champion-gods for a chance to look like SR?! (LOVE the top my tops way!!!)

Had a date with the treadmill last night for 3.5 miles plus light weight lifting. Tuesdays are my off days for my women’s church small group.

Thanks for featuring Chase! She’s definitely one of the most positive people I know. I first met her at the gym in Baltimore at her Body Step class and I was so impressed at how high she could jump, how she could do the routine without any troubles, keep a smile on her face and stay bubbly as the rest of us were screaming in pain. She also helped me get through my first 1/2 marathon in 2006! After all that we became good friends and I’m so glad she’s blogging now because I can stay in touch with her more frequently from Cali. Miss her!

Yesterday i took nancy for a three mile walk in the baking sun and then later marlie ran to costco and I skated beside her. I even had to carry artichokes and breadsticks back. That was another cool three miles so i’m kinda like training for an ultra-marathon or i might possibly just run the tour de france course cause that’s kinda around my mileage goal.

Reply

Stephanie August 17, 2010 at 12:11 pm

This morning it was three miles on the ‘mill, plus half an hour on the elliptical and an arm workout! Hoping to completely negate it by making cookies tonight. :)

Hannah August 17, 2010 at 12:14 pm

Ran a nice 4 miler this morning at 6:30. It’s still soooo hot in the south. I can’t wait for fall!

Reply

Tracy August 17, 2010 at 12:56 pm

I ran 4 miles this morning and plan to go to Powerflex (lifting) at Bally’s after work.

Thanks for having Running Tuesdays! It’s another strongly needed motivator when my alarm clock goes off at 5:15!!

Reply

Valerie August 17, 2010 at 12:56 pm

My running Tuesday is, um, a rest day. To make that sound less lame, I ran 14 miles yesterday!

Reply

chacha August 17, 2010 at 1:35 pm

She mustn’t have really been running/jogging in earnest because that’s just weird to run with a clutch under your armpit. Maybe she was trotting to her car to head to the gym.

Spin Tuesday for me – 15 freakin’ ppl in class (all there before class started) so I got one of the crappy bikes with broken straps and harder than normal resistance. Boo.

Last run was Hangover Running Sunday. Not fun. At least it was only 6 miles. I suppose it’s better than Drunk Running Saturday Night.

Lizzy August 17, 2010 at 1:53 pm

I ran 5 miles this morning–loved it! An easy run today because yesterday and tomorrow are longer.

Britney August 17, 2010 at 3:51 pm

I started training for a 10k this week, so I went to the gym for a 2.5 mile treadmill run. I was dreading how boring it was going to be because I am really slow, so I decided to do intervals and it went really well! I was very happy by the end and it took me exactly the length of the workout I had on my iPod to go 2.5 miles. :)

Reply

jeri August 17, 2010 at 4:34 pm

I have 800 meter repeats at the track tonight after work. Yassos here I come. :)

Reply

Sher August 17, 2010 at 7:20 pm

Ran the 5 miles home from work – left my phone, clothes, purse in my office and hit the road with just my keys and metrocard in my tiny pocket!

Reply

Dave from Running Tips August 18, 2010 at 10:13 am

Ran 5 late in the day – 8 pm. It was kinda dark, but it was the first time I’ve ran 5 in a long time. I made it count by running about 7:10 pace which is pretty quick for me.
