Wedding Pics X 2

by SkinnyRunner on August 9, 2010

More wedding pictures…

The dinner was served buffet-style with salad in lettuce “cups”, grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, chicken and tri-tip.  The tri-tip was really good, and I had seconds of it and the vegetables.

Eat me!

Bri and Mr. Jaymeymambypants

Betsy dancing with her stepdad.  It was really neat how she honoroed both her dad and stepdad and had them both walk her down the isle.

yeah baby.

I was walking around with little Emma, just trying to get our cardio on, and Jay took this picture with the lights and reception in the background.  Although my pictures got blurrier as it got darker, the strung lights were really cute and festive.

Jim, James, and Jason.  Evidently the J names were really popular back in the 50′s when these guys were born.

Cake cutting.  I think this was the first wedding ever where I didn’t have any cake.  Normally I walk by and do the five finger hand swipe on the frosting…  Even when I catered weddings in college, I’d still snag a couple pieces of the strangers’ cake.

The next morning we went to church in Calabasas at Reese and Jim’s church and then opened late birthday presents for Reese and Jaybob.

JJ received some Pro V1 golf balls which are the top of the line golf ball and not cheap.

Besides her serious gift, I went to Costco and blew up a really dumb, funny picture of Reese and wrapped it up all nice.  She was dying laughing and then hung it up in their living room!

After gifts Jim and Reese got down making us a super fabulous Sunday brunch.

We had mimosas, Belgium waffles with fresh strawberries and blueberries and (homemade!) whipped cream, bacon, and an avocado, cheese, ham, tomato egg scramble.  You had me at whipped cream.

Thanks Reese and Jim!

I told them this was the kind of Sunday brunch you’d pay $25 for at a restaurant.  They got all excited hoping I’d pay them $25.  Heck no, I’d pay someone else that, not you guys.

It was such a fun weekend with friends, good times all around.

Random question: what was the best thing you ate this weekend??

When I worked at a catering company in high school we always stole wedding cake to eat, too. :)

Tell your husband he looked very handsome this weekend. And I loved your outfit!

I love weddings, but it’s all about the cake. You’re a nut for not having any!

The best thing I ate all weekend was a brisket that my dad cooked last night. It was amazinggg.

Love the pictures! Everyone looked so nice. I love the bride’s dress — looked just like Pam’s from The Office.

1. how do you always snag deals on awesome clothes? maybe your Macy’s isn’t as picked over as mine? or the fact that I refuse to step into Macy’s, but that’s neither here nor there.

2. Best food this weekend was actually in the form of a liquid-wine! To go along with roast chicken and vegetables and mashed taters.

3. Thank you for your humor on all days ending in y.

The best thing I ate this weekend was boneless chicken wings with Asian Sesame sauce from Quaker Steak and Lube. So good. (I can’t believe I’d ever say how much I loved chicken wings – haha…but they are boneless, so really they are just chicken breast strips.)

holy crap balls – those golf balls better have little wings to fly straight to the hole for that price.
this is why i abhor golf. that and it’s so dang boring.

best thing in the pie hole this wkend – brown sugar cookies that i made yesterday.

On Friday night, we went out to dinner for my friend’s 30th birthday. I had “prohibition speakeasy ale battered fish & chips”. They had me at prohibition.

Best thing I ate: Sushi! Yumm! Can’t go wrong there.

I think you should do some “A Day in the Life” segments and chronicle what you do in a normal day. =)

Also, still want to know about your ink. I have two. I on my lower back for my father who passed away almost 9 years ago. Another on the top of my shoulder, it’s my son’s birthday in Roman numerals.

Nine years of dating and finally sealed the deal. That gives me hope. :)
Best thing I ate this weekend was homemade Vietnamese spring rolls. The peanut sauce that I made wasn’t good. But the spring rolls itself was quite tasty on its own.

The most delicous thing I had this weekend was cheescake on a stick at the fair!!! Yummy. I shared it with my husband and mom though so not to bad for me.
