We got our new washer and dryer set today.
Each were $699 but we signed up for a Home Depot card and got 10% off plus a $235 government rebate and free delivery/haul away.
There were definitely way cooler looking machines (who doesn’t want a dryer that doubles as a spaceship?!) but they were also double the price. And guess how old our washer was??? 16 years old! That’s practically older than me. Well, maybe not quite..

I received a few samples of tart cherry juice from Cheribundi a week or so ago.
The packaging was dang cute, I like that.
The Montmorency cherries we use are all grown in the USA (Michigan and New York, to be exact). They taste better and have more powerful phytonutrients than other superfruits. That includes the trendy pomegranate, açaí berry, grape and blueberry. Rich with nutrients, tart cherries can help you recover from exercise and sleep better, in general, live life to the fullest because you feel better. Instead of eating 50 cherries a day, you can get the same benefits by drinking cheribundi™.
There were 3 different flavors: Tru Cherry, Whey Cherry and Skinny Cherry.
cheribundi™ has more disease-fighting antioxidants than other juices and has been tested in the lab and field by athletes and people who just work out. Because cheribundi™ is all-natural and not from concentrate, it’s a feel-better and live-healthier addition to your lifestyle.
Tru Cherry is the original, a little tangy, a little sweet.
Skinny Cherry uses Stevia so it has less calories and sugar than the others.
Whey Cherry has added protein to it.
The taste verdict: I liked it; it’s kinda sweet and tart at the same time. But I don’t drink much juice at all so although it’s tasty and definitely healthy and full of antioxidants, it probably isn’t something I’d drink regularly.
If you want to try it out, check out their website for a retailer close to you.

I’ve got another give away coming up! Who wants to try my favorite way to energize up during a race??
Oh yeah, baby. Better come back for this one!

And on one more random note, I think if I’m in town next weekend I’m gonna run a last hurrah! marathon. I probably won’t be in town but if I am I’ll be full mary’ing it here.

I vote for the Disney races! I love Disney! But besides that you could do the 5k on Friday, the half on Sat, and the full on Sun!!! That would be a seriously hardcore challenge!
May 6, 2010 at 4:58 PM

I love shopping for new appliances. Excellent purchase.

Duuuude. That marathon is hard. Not that I know from experience just what I’ve heard. But beautiful. I lived near the border of Redondo Beach and PV for 2 years – love that area – South Bay is the only good part of LA.
That is the motherload of GU.

I love new appliances! Don’t those babies really make you want to bang out a load of laundry pronto?
I vote for ROME! If you’re gonna go big, go big! That’s what I say anyway.
May 7, 2010 at 7:02 AM
I am weird, but I am salivating over those GU gels.
May 7, 2010 at 7:59 AM
Also, I have a random question- you said you hold your iPod when you run, don’t your hands get all sweaty and gross?
May 7, 2010 at 7:14 AM
I have the same washer and dryer set! They’re a.maz.ing.
May 7, 2010 at 8:20 AM

Love Espresso Love GU! Can’t wait to see what the contest is. Also–I vote for the Honolulu marathon.

Being a former SC resident, I’d have to say that you should experience the Myrtle Beach Marathon. We always referred to MB as the “redneck riviera” but joking aside, it really is a fun place with lots to do – from great outlet shopping to endless dining options and live performances. (And it’s pretty inexpensive!) It’s better if you stay in North MB, since central MB to Surfside Beach is the trashy touristy area. But if I lived in Cali, I’d probably hit up Honolulu, too. Hawaii is one of my favorite places in the world! Whatever race you choose, I say, do something completely out of the ordinary for you — you might surprise yourself
Also, question – I’m not sure where I missed the post, but I’m so confused as to this whole Alaska/fishing thing! Why are you going, and for how long?
And finally, that photo of the massive GU collection… oh. my. love.
May 7, 2010 at 9:58 AM
You need to find, like, a Fiji marathon. Or start your own. Just sayin’.
Also I like how you got a new washer/dryer juuuuust before you leave for Alaska. Making Jam Master James do all your laundry? Because you should…haha.
May 7, 2010 at 10:58 AM
I love how you randomly just say “Oh, I might run a marathon.”
You are truly a gifted runner. For REAL.
May 7, 2010 at 11:25 AM
funny, i got the cheribundi stuff too!
and I’ll be at the palos verde marathon working the expo booth for run racing as well.
and I’m so jealous of your new washer dryer! I love those ones
