So I didn’t end up going to the gym today; it just didn’t happen. Oh well. I’ve worked out the past 8 days so no use feeling bad about it.
Can’t feel bad about this either:
My very thoughtful mother-in-law sent us this fruit bouquet for our anniversary:
Deeelicious. Jay McMunchMouth ate all the chocolate fruit; I didn’t even get a single one. But the strawberries were awesome.
Jeezy bought me these:
Zensa compression leg sleeves.
I guess he doesn’t like my grandpa Walmart socks.
These things are nice, the fabric’s nice and soft, and they make you look hardcore. But honestly, my $20 Walmart compression socks are a lot tighter=more compression, the fabric is thinner so they’re not as bulky; they just feel like they work much better than the Zensa sleeves.
I’m going to wear the grandpa socks for recovery after long runs and races. I might wear the sleeves during a race. I don’t know, I feel kinda like a poser/goober. Like I need to run a 2:50 marathon to warrant wearing them.
Does anyone out there wear compression sleeves in races? Is it mega doofy or mega helpful?
And lastly my lovely personal grandpa bought me this gem:
The diamond Michele mini urban watch. loves. the watch.
and the husband.

Hi. As you can see from my Dallas pics, I wore the compression sleeves ( I’m picky with my socks so that’s why I got the sleeves ). I thought they actually did work though. Usually, after or during a long run, the sides of my legs hurt near my calves. They did not hurt at all during Dallas.
Hope this helps!

I just started wearing my Zoot compression socks post race and you do feel “springy” in them I admit. Have not worn them for an actual run although many in my group love and swear by them. I too feel like a goober/poser wearing them.
I was going to buy the Walmart ones myself but was just there when the Zoot’s in my size came into the store. Peer pressure I guess.
They are tight but not over all too tight.
My Zoots are also socks and not sleeves and from opinions of other runners, better than the Zensa ones but I guess that all depends on what you’re looking for and what you’re used to.
The watch is gorgeous! Loves it. Your mac-hubby needs to sit down with mine one of these days. Mine refuses to buy me running related items because it will mean I’ll only run more!

I actually don’t understand why people wear compression during races. I would think you’d want your muscles to be relaxed rather than compressed when you run. That just seems like more pressure on your legs. But maybe that’s just me because I’ve had compartment syndrome and know what it feels like to have your muscles have so much pressure and it’s not comfortable. I use my zensahs post run though for recovery and I like the fact they aren’t super tight because it still allows them to “breathe”

the compression actually helps increase blood flow to your muscles while you’re running which can help boost oxygen delivery and shuttle waste away faster.

My bf has those legs sleeves. His calves cramp up really easily while running & he said they keep that from happening.
Hope they serve you well.
