You want to hear a story??
At LAX waiting for our flight… Sitting near a Cinnabon’s store….
Smells sooo good… husband bought one… Didn’t take a single bite… The End.
sad story, huh.
If you want to save a couple bucks and make one at home, here’s a recipe called “Clone of the Cinnabon”
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 1/3 cup margarine, melted
- 4 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle; press Start.
- After the dough has doubled in size turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, cover and let rest for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll dough into a 16×21 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.

Ok maybe that story wasn’t so sad after all…
What’s your favorite airport food?
I’d probably say Cinnabon’s; good thing I ate a huge breakfast or I’d be tearing that joint up.

i have never.ever.ever tried a cinnabon. that’s the sads. although maybe not. i think i am better off not knowing what i am missing.
Have a great trip hope it wont get to hot for you the humidity can be a killer. hope to see you in la marathon next week.
Can it be a drink? Beer.
You have Will of Steel to pass that up. When I walk pass that place in the mall, my knees goes weak. I try hard to walk pass as fast as I can. I need to speed walk to get in some cardio because I’m pretty sure inhaling the smell has some calories associated with it.
Girl – you have some fierce lookin’ shoes!!!! Are those Louboutins I see?!?!?! How many pairs do you own? Would love to just hold a pair let alone own one
OH WAIT- Ment to post this under the “at least something” post – sorry…see what shoes do to me!?!?!?
I’m not proud, but I’ve made those “clones.” And I had cinnamon rolls for breakfast 3 out of the last 7 days. Dem are good odds.
No wonder the are so high in calories. It called for butter three different times and a whole package of cream cheese. Yikes.
that cinnabon looks sooo good. going to try out that recipe for a sunday brunch someday (hopefully soon!)
Everytime I go to San Francisco (which is about once a month) I go to this place for dinner and I always gets their mahi mahi sandwich with a nice glass of Anchor Steam…that’s my guilty pleasure…plus the company pays for it!
I seriously can’t believe you resisted that. I don’t travel much, but the airport in New Orleans has a pretty nifty little place with seafood poboys.
The smell of Cinnabon is just amazing..the calories…not so much.
I am going to Cali in April and staying at the St REgis in Dana Point..do you have any recommendations for restaurants in the area?
Your a strong willed woman!
Au Bon Pan.. I will travel all the way across the airport to get food there!!
starbucks soy latte is my airport treat. seriously.
OMG! That looks so freaking good! I’m sitting here eating an apple with pb and it’s just not stacking up next to that thing.
