I’m being mean, so sorry.

by SkinnyRunner on March 8, 2010

Good morning kids!  I’m off on assignment.  Actually, I’m dropping the kids off at school, going to run a couple miles of Santa Barbara coastline and then head back home to the great land of Vicki Gunvalson.

I looked online early last night as the Oscars were just starting.  I only saw a few pictures of dresses, and with every one I threw up in my mouth a little more.  So I quit looking.  mostly because my mouth was full.

I don’t know who this little boy is, but he needs to stop playing in his mom’s closet and come out of it.

If this whole look stopped at the chest, meaning everything north was gone, I’d like it.  But the weird yellow chest press bar going across the shoulders is really strange.

What else is strange is SJP’s face.  Do her eyes look hollowed out to anyone else?  It’s like she’s got skeleton face.

And one more thing, is there a seam running up the middle of the dress or do I have wonky eye?

I generally think Nicole Richie is adorable.  This look however, is not.  It’s like Walmart’s Route 66 line tried to do Missoni.

Can someone please tell Zoe that we are not living in AvatarLand and she does not have to dressed by the set designer anymore.

I don’t know what movie Vera Farmiga is in, but what I want to know is the classis chicken or egg question:  Did the lipstick come first or the dress?  And Vera, do remember that Vitamin D is good for you; get some.  please.  You’re blinding us.

oh snap…what’s wrong with going with the natural color of skin? don’t be a hater!

so vera and zoe’s dresses are definately big and loud but i think that’s what the oscars is all about. it’s couture and opulence at its peak without going Gaga. definately not the norm, or what anyone would wear to any standard event. but that’s the point i think.
i think the best part of last night was how much EVERY woman struggled to walk the stage in their sky-high platform heels.

hahaha! You couldn’t have put it better with these ones. Did you notice that the little boy also has forks, like actual mini utensils on his dress? I guess just in case everyone ran out of silverware at the Oscars this one can start plucking them off? Or maybe eat directly off the dress?
wow.

i noticed that about sjp’s face too. it just looks like a corpse. i think part of it is that she’s so skinny but her head is really long/oval shaped but it just looks off

I agree… EXCEPT Vera’s dress was stunning! I thought she looked amazing. She was in Up in the Air. In which she does a nude scene and looks stunning, white skin and all. I prefer to not tan, myself. I look really unnatural if I go against nature, maybe Vera feels the same way.

I was so bothered by SJP. She looked so skeletal. Ugh not good!

Did you see Charlize Theron’s dress? It looked like someone pasted flowers over her boobs. So weird. Definitely a night of worst dressed!

oh girl, you are too much! In a good way :) .

One thing about SJP that really annoyed me was her hair. It looked messed up…I’m not sure what it was.

SJP’s dress looked better on screen than in the photo. I can sense you’re a SJP hater. :-) She IS quite orange color in skin tone.

Hollywood is trashing Charlize Theron’s dress . . . what do you think?

There is nothing wrong with embracing your natural color!

I kinda like the last dress. Would I wear it? No, but I like looking at it.

I must say I totally agree with you on all of dresses. Normally I think SJP is totally gorgeous but last night she looked too think and really aged.

I hated all the same ones, but there were a few good ones.

Meryl Streep, the Twilight/UpintheAir chick, Sandra Bullock, Penelope Cruz, and Demi Moore were my favorites.

Some people are pale and can’t tan, or don’t want skin cancer. I would rather be pale than orange.

Nothing wrong with a persons natural skintone.

Zoe’s dress wins for worst, that is for sure! YIKES!

But I do have to say that I like the pale skin! Don’t beat up on her for that, okay?!? :) She’s healthy and one day, she’ll have a million less wrinkles that her brown co-stars!!

In regards to Vera’s dress …. it appears the designer left a nice little space amongst the ruffles for her hand to go in case she wanted to do that redcarpet pose she’s doing right there ….

Holy tan nazi’s!! Some people aren’t in to the casper look, get over it.. you don’t have to jump all over her!

Reply

Kate March 9, 2010 at 4:24 pm

Tan Nazi’s? I think not Jillian. How inconsidearte of you to say some people aren’t into the “casper look”. WOW!! Some of us CAN’T tan. Amazing how you can have such disregaurd for a touchy subject.

I think everyone looks best when they stick closer to their natural skin color. IMO if you can tell someone’s been tanning, it looks unnatural. Fastest way to age too!

Haha. I saw this post in the “you might like” section and I liked!
Its funny bc target actually did try to do missoni and it killed it for me. Why pay $200 for a scarf when you and 29,000 other people can have zig zag for 24.99.
