WORKOUT – Ran on treadmill 60 mins/7.55 miles .5 incline
I felt really good on this TM run; I guess I redeemed myself after yesterday’s craptacular display of running prowess.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are headed up to Mammoth sleepy eyed and ratty tailed. We’re leaving uber early so we can meet up with our homies and hit up the mountain this afternoon.
So while we’re driving like angels out of heaven, take a gander at Kelly Osbourne on the cover of the latest US WEEKLY:
She tells Us Weekly she “hated” herself because of her weight and “never wanted to do anything to fix it … For a very long time, Mrs. Field’s salted cookies were my favorite thing in the world … It’s hard to get out of a hole you’ve dug so deeply.”
Today, after years of yo-yo dieting, Osbourne has lost 42 pounds the healthy way — through regular exercise and a portion-controlled diet.
“I’m really proud to look in the mirror and not hate every single thing I see,” she tells Us Weekly. “I no longer think, Why don’t I look like this girl or that girl?”
Her diet consists of a moderate-carb plan with low-fat protein or vegetarian entrees, salads and healthy carbs like sweet potato fries.
I haven’t read the article so I can’t give you any of her tips, but apparently she went from 160 lbs to 118 and a size 14 to a size 2. I think she looks full on fabulosity.
If US WEEKLY featured YOU and your healthy living/eating/weight loss/diet tips, what one tip would you give??
She does look fabulous! The thing I would say is it’s not easy, it does take work but if you stick to it you will see results. There are no “quick fixes,” you have to watch what you eat and exercise reguarly. The two go hand in hand.
she does look fab..and robotic. I NEED motivational tips as I type so I can’t really give any..the only thing that gets me moving is realizing that your body doesn’t get BETTER with age so start now or you’ll never “catch up”. BTW it’s crazy how everyone body is different. she’s 5lbs over her ideal weight, as am I but our bodies are soo different. okay. NOVEL ENDS.
put as many colors on your plate as possible…not skittles but fruits and veggies.
Wow Kelly Osborne looks like a completely different person!
Hmmmm I think I’d be awful at giving tips, BUT if put on the spot I’d probably mumble something about how important breakfast is and the power of greek yogurt? (Nobody should ever quote me!)
i always wonder if stars do anything beyond exercise and diet. and no not surgery. more like therapy because if she says that she “hated herself”, i’m guessing that doesn’t exactly go away overnight, right? just a thought…
as for tips: i’d say get up and get it done first thing. too often late afternoon rolls around and i have a to-do list a mile long that i really don’t want to do out and run
Haha, seriously! I agree….these stars definitely need therapy (and I’m a mental health counselor). I mean to have your worth be only about your looks. Hmmm, there’s more to life!
My tip would be fill yourself up with veggies and other non processed foods. Keep it simple with one ingredient foods, and you’ll be much healthier
She looks amazing! My biggest tip would be to have a drink of water or fruit juice or tea when you’re feeling the urge to snack. It distracts you from thinking about the snack and rehydrates you. Everyone’s a winner!
Wow, she looks great!
I think she looks really good… but a size 2? I never think these people look quite as little as they say. Maybe the places they shop size different than the places I shop.
That pink dress on the cover looks like she was wearing some Spanx and they Photoshopped it pink, but she looks awesome in the purple dress. It’s sad that she said she felt more criticism for being fat that addicted to drugs.
Ha, I don’t think it would matter what I say. I’m pretty certain US Weekly makes all of those tips up!
hahahaha
I am a huge believer in not denying yourself, just eat the calories your body calls for each day, and exercise hard (whatever that means for you) 4 to 5 days a week.
Holy moly she looks good! There’s still no way she’s a size 2! I always think magazine lie about people’s size who have dramatically lost weight. But, she does look amazing and she didn’t take drastic (lap band, gastric bypass, cocaine(!?)) measures to get to her current health.
My one tip would be to lift weights. It has helped me become trimmer and stay in shape more than just cardio alone. Weight lifting also helps you LOOK leaner too.
However, please don’t subscribe to Tracy Anderson’s method of weights for women (she trains G. Paltrow and Madonna, among others). Her mantra is that women should never lift over 3 pound weights. Just an FYI, your purse probably weighs more than 3 pounds (I guess you shouldn’t carry a purse!). Women don’t have enough testosterone (naturally) to become bulky. So pick up those weights and get to lifin’!
holy batman cave, she looks amazing!
How tall is she?! There is no way in hell she wore a 14 in that before photo.
I would say STOP FAD DIETING!!! It’s a fad for a reason.
My tip would be to get up and get moving even on the days you don’t want to. I always feel better both physically and mentally after I do. Even if I hate it while I’m doing it.
Sort of like my run today in the cold, windy drizzle. Hated the first two miles and then I was good to go.
Wow, she looks amazing.
Some healthy tips that I currently follow:
- eat small healthy meals and often. Eat until you are 3/4 full. I hear it is ok to leave the table a little tiny bit hungry.
- eat slowly and chew your food well
- shop at the farmer’s market for in season produce. Oh and eat your veggies.
That’s all I have. I borrowed these tips from all over!
I’m glad Kelly Osbourne lost the weight the right way and is setting a good example.
My tip would be to keep healthy foods close by…now if I could just follow my own damn tips!
She does look great, and I love her accent/voice, I only hope she loves herself now. I guess that would be my tip – LOVE YOURSELF – so often we get caught up in all the things we have to do for everyone else…job, family, school, that we forget to take care of #1…I think if you love yourself you’ll take the time to make right choices with your food and exercise. That doesn’t mean just eating rabbit food either, that means being gentle on yourself and not dwelling on those things that you perceive as flaws…and indulging in cake with lots of frosting (or whatever you love) when the situation calls for it!
Also, what Morgan said!
She looks great!
Ti- Don’t mistake thirst for hunger. Try drinking some water/juice, if that doesn’t hit the spot then try eating.
Tip-
Cut back/eliminate processed food and animal bi-products(if you’re not already a veg or vegan). Purchase ingredients at the market, not boxed or bagged items. Most are full of extra salt/sugars/calories.
On a side note, I thin Kelly looks great. But, more importantly she’s leading a healthier lifestyle now.
1 word. Jealous!
Hope you have a great time! haha, that was more than one word
My tip would be to cook big batches of something yummy on Sunday night, put it into five individual containers in your fridge and eat what you made for your weekly lunches. They are healthy, you know who made them, cheap, and best of all, convenient.
