Wow, it’s a great day to be me

WORKOUT – 10.15 miles/1 hr 22 mins

We arrived home safe and sound last night after our epic 13 hour drive.  I’ve got a picture post coming up but first things first, I had to get a run in.  It’s been exactly a week since I’ve ran, and I think I forgot how to.

The first 8 miles felt really slow, cumbersome and sluggish.  Or maybe that was me…  I think I ate way too much over vacay.  Oh well, nothing a few million miles can’t fix, right?

The last 2 miles I picked up the pace, and throughout the run I threw in a lot of shorter hills to kick my own booty.

Overall it was good.  So good of a run that I’d give it an award if Madelin and Angela hadn’t beat me to it…

Madelin gave me this award:

Thanks Madelin; apparently I’m beautiful.  But we already knew that, didn’t we?  Ok, time to step away from the mirror…

And Angela gave me this award:

Besides being beautiful, I’m a ray of sunshine!  Double fist pump!

Yesterday I received an email from eFITology.com, a company that “delivers and assembles affordable exercise equipment”, about a contest: if you take their 10 question fitness quiz and score 100%, you’ll be entered to win one of 3 big prizes.  (One is a $1400 recumbent bike)

HERE IS THE LINK if you want to take the quiz; it takes like 30 seconds.

Just to let you know, I got a 90%.  Apparently you aren’t supposed wash down a big meal with a Big Gulp margarita, put on cement sneakers and then swim in a tide rip.  Who knew??

And lastly look what reader Jamie sent me: a Starbucks VIA with a cute little note.  She has now catapulted onto my highly prestigious list of people I’ve never met but will probably put in my willThank you Jamie!!

I am having a melanoma on my leg (boooo) removed in a month and HAVE to take 10 days off from running. I am super stressed about it! Happy to hear you voluntarily took 7 days off and didn’t lose all your running skills. :)

Hooray, 100! All the millions of dollars I’ve invested in fitness magazines has paid off in the form of a good score on an online quiz haha

You totally inspired me to buy some Via, and now my mom and I are hooked. Don’t expect us to be sending you a packet any time soon. We’ve got a death grip on ours. But geez, that was nice of Jamie!

I have yet to try Starbucks Via but I have heard mixed reviews – some love it, some hate it…I am generally not picky with brewed coffees but most instant tastes off to me!

I took the quiz and got 100!! I almost missed the stretching one, but I had heard that before, and it stuck with me because I LOVE to stretch.

I got the bulky body builder one wrong. I’ve seen some pretty manly looking women in those body-building contests … I mean, I’m sure they take steriod supplements, but really now?
