Brag, people, brag! I want to hear what you are doing today…. workout-wise. I don’t want to know what daytime soaps you and your cat like to watch together in your bathrobes and fuzzy slippers licking ice cream off the same spoon.
Since I won’t be running today, I’ll just pretend I am…
Yeah, baby.
I’ll be snowboarding today. We went 3 days in a row, took yesterday off and are gonna hit it up today. yeehaw!

February 9, 2010 at 7:43 AM
haha, love this blog. You are inspiring AND you make me laugh.
I am braving the weather (20 something degrees, flurries, snow on ground) and doing a quick run on my lunch break at work. Probably just 3-3.5 miles but I’ll try and hit a couple of hills in there. Short but sweet. I am recovering from stomach bug and just started biking on my trainer so my legs are feeling it.
Later teaching ice skating (my other job) but that’s not THAT much of a workout.

30 Day Shred today!
February 9, 2010 at 8:07 AM
I’m starting off the day with the 30 Day Shred…amazing…then running 6-8 miles on the treadmill. Whatever my injured knee will allow.
February 9, 2010 at 8:16 AM
That is so funny! Every time my Runner’s World comes in the mail and there is a super-trim and famous female runner on the front I say, “the photographers just won’t leave me alone while I’m running!”
My husband just rolls his eyes -
Today, I slept late so I get to swim 1600 meters, run 2 miles and do an ab workout all together this evening. I like to break it up, but this is what I call my “I-was-too-lazy-to-get-out-of-bed” brick workout.
February 9, 2010 at 8:19 AM
I started my first day doing “Insanity” at 5:30am which kicked my booty!!! Tonight will be drinking a very large glass of red wine while soaking in a hot bath of epsom salt water!!!
February 9, 2010 at 8:20 AM
I’m going to the gym after work for a 30-40 minute intervals run on the treadmill, some weight training, and an hour yoga class. Tuesday’s are always my longer workout days.
February 9, 2010 at 8:24 AM
Did the 5:15am FIT (aka strength)class at the gym. Still hoping to get 4 miles in tonight but we’re getting hit with snow so not sure it’s gonna happen.
February 9, 2010 at 8:35 AM
I will be running/walking (beginner here) 5 miles on the treadmill. My husband fixed it with 2 bolts on each side. I now call it the Frankenstein treadmill, lol.
I hear a lot of you talk about the 30 day shred, I will have to look into it. It sounds like something I could use.
February 9, 2010 at 8:57 AM
You make me laugh daily
Thank you!
4 mile run and 45 minute yoga class all before 6:45am. Maybe I will actually start enjoy morning workouts…now I can go sit on the couch after work without an ounce of guilt
February 9, 2010 at 9:04 AM
Snowed in my parts so I hit the treadmill this morn. 7.3 miles: Ran 4-ish, walked 3.3-ish.
Have fun today!!!
February 9, 2010 at 9:15 AM
3 miles on the ‘mill today. (Is it weird that I don’t hate the treadmill? Prob because I don’t do “long” runs.)
February 9, 2010 at 9:24 AM
Hey SkinnyRunner! I LOVE your blog. You motivate me everyday to run or workout in some fashion (plus you make me laugh!). I will hopefully be running 5 miles today. I’m sort of a beginner runner so thats a lot for me! Wish me luck!
February 9, 2010 at 9:39 AM
I did 4 miles on the treadmill before work this morning and it felt amazing!
February 9, 2010 at 9:39 AM
Debating running a quick 2 today, but it will depend on how my shins feel later. Have fun boarding!
February 9, 2010 at 9:47 AM
I biked 20 minutes this morning with some ab moves thrown in, and this afternoon I’ve got track practice. Have fun snowboarding!
February 9, 2010 at 9:47 AM
I’ll be doing a spin class because I re-tore my meniscus…good times.
February 9, 2010 at 10:02 AM
Tuesday is always my hardest day. 3 mile easy run in the morning and a 10 mile speed workout this afternoon. I feel hardcore Tuesday nights, ha.
February 9, 2010 at 10:14 AM
I’m always amazed when it’s running Tuesday again…weeks go so fast! No run today…it’s a rest day, but yesterday I did 5!
February 9, 2010 at 10:16 AM
Yoga and then a barftastic Zone5 run – 10 min warmup, followed by repeats of 2 min as fast as you can, 1 min walk, 5 min steady state…repeat.
Seriously – I have been close to puking on the 2 min interval. Maybe tonight is the night.
February 9, 2010 at 10:33 AM
4 miles today while watching the Today Show and wishing I was in Vancouver!
February 9, 2010 at 10:46 AM
Today, I’m going take a barbell strength class and then hit the treadmill for hopefully a 4 mile run. I {heart} your blog, it inspires me. Each week it’s getting easier to go to the gym.
February 9, 2010 at 10:57 AM
Tuff Tuesdays: 45 min Spin class followed by 1 hour boxing class!!! Followed by a glass of wine…
February 9, 2010 at 11:06 AM
NO running for me today : ( Stair climber this morning with some weights. Tomorrow is the big running day!! Got some intervals planned!
February 9, 2010 at 11:07 AM
I only ran two this morning… it was raining so we had to do it on an inside track (24 laps…ugh! So boring!)
But I did 4 on Saturday with it snowing. That’s the most I’ve EVER ran. I was pretty stoked about it!
February 9, 2010 at 11:14 AM
I’ve been snowed in since LAST THURSDAY, and despite another 12″ on the way, I’m running tonight NO MATTER WHAT.
5 miles…treadmill…as fast as I can get there.
February 9, 2010 at 11:15 AM

February 9, 2010 at 11:54 AM
3 miles on the dreadmill is on the training schedule today…but I just ate an ice cream cone so it may be more like 4. I am a bottomless pit today
February 9, 2010 at 12:07 PM
And I thought I was the only one who didn’t wear thongs, like ever. I agree, it’s just one more thing you have to pick! Love reading your witty sarcasm each morning.
February 9, 2010 at 1:02 PM
8 miles outside while dodging ice patches and mounds of snow…I hate the dreadmill and would rather poke my eyes out with icicles than get on that thing, sooo.. snowy runs it is! Then 30 minutes of core stuff
February 9, 2010 at 1:08 PM
i love bragging
i did 8 X 800m followed by 6 hills (2 @ 5% for 1/2 mile, 4 @ (7-8-8-7%) for 90 seconds)
total doozy but it felt great to do
February 9, 2010 at 1:52 PM
just found your blog!! awesome!
today is 40 min run (treadmill Tuesday) and upper body weights work with trainer! then probably 30 min ON the BIKE trainer while watching Biggest Loser!
February 9, 2010 at 1:55 PM
Walked the dog around the block in deep snow and now I’m going to do an upper body weight lifting workout.
February 9, 2010 at 1:56 PM
I did my first ever half-marathon on Sunday! I’m super slow compared to you but I can’t wait to do my next one already! This thing they call running is quite addicting. Who knew?
My legs are still sore though so off to the elliptical machine for 45 minutes today after work.
February 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM
i did a 2 mile pneumonia-filled-lungs run. it wasn’t pretty, but it was something – and i definitely needed it! i’m just hoping my lungs will improve soon so i can stop sounding like an 80 year old smoker who has never fun before!
February 9, 2010 at 2:02 PM
fun or run i suppose.. whichever works
February 9, 2010 at 2:07 PM
I managed to make it to the gym today, finally! For the last week the DC, MD, VA area has been pummeled with snow and a foot more expected tonight. Enough of my snow woes…I ran a quick 2 miles on the treadmill and then headed straight to the stair climber and did 20 minutes = just over 2 miles. Walked another 5 minutes on the treadmill and stretched really good! Felt good. Tomorrow my workout will include shoveling!
February 9, 2010 at 2:52 PM
Wow you look good in green.
Today’s workout: no running for me. 90 minutes of hot sweaty detoxifying yoga.
February 9, 2010 at 2:59 PM
I’m doing an indoor brick work: 1hr spin followed by 5mile treddy run…
ALso, I love the face in a hole! Every time I get my new runners world, if there is a female on the cover, I dream about having her awesome bod.
February 9, 2010 at 3:06 PM
Heading out for a dreadmill run, and I’m hoping to get to Zumba. (I have to wait and see if the snow holds up.)
February 9, 2010 at 3:11 PM
Today is my rest day. Yesterday I did some lower body strength training and some abs and tomorrow will be C25K Week 5 Day 1…I have my first 5k next month and my training is going well so far! I also have some upper body strength training planned for tomorrow as well. I’m hoping my rest day will give me some fresh legs for my run tomorrow.
February 9, 2010 at 3:23 PM
You, clever, you. Can’t brag yet, as I haven’t made it to the gym. I highly doubt I will have something to brag about after the fact, but oh well… =)
February 9, 2010 at 3:48 PM
6 mile fartlek run, Dreaded the thought of it, felt great doing it, and feel like I accomplished something great today!
February 9, 2010 at 4:09 PM
Ran on the beach, about 3 miles. Loving Dwight Yoakam and Rolling Stones on the MP3.
February 9, 2010 at 5:32 PM
Ran 3 mls. in the freeezing 30 degree temps. dodging icy, muddy patches. Would ya believe my nose was blowing bubbles? Ha! Sorry to all the passersby.
February 9, 2010 at 5:56 PM
love that you do this on tuesdays bc no one else cares about my running stats…not that you do either haha but it’s nice to have a place to brag
of courses, tuesdays are boot camp days so i always have to refer to my monday runs…yesterday was speed workout day as is every Monday. I did 5 x 1200 at a 7:19 pace with some extra mileage after for a total of 7.25 miles in 55 minutes. i’m seriously becoming addicted to speedwork on Mondays. I think that makes me pathetic…
February 9, 2010 at 6:01 PM
Core yoga and a rushed 4km run!
February 9, 2010 at 6:54 PM
slave to the treadmill today as a result of the snow dumping this past weekend. outdoor runs seems so far in the future…
anwho, alternated increase in speed w/ sprint intervals for 5 mi, then hopped on the stat bike; total 60 min. hot sweaty mess, and loved it.
February 9, 2010 at 8:47 PM
Today was a weight day and I ran out of time for any cardio because I had to meet my husband at the local running store. He is a track coach and they were doing a promo for the kids and families so we got a killer deal on our shoes. I also found some pink/white tempo shorts on clearance. I bought them even though my legs don’t look nearly like they should be in those yet. I am hoping by the time it warms up here they will be
February 9, 2010 at 9:42 PM
Love your magazine cover, lol! Now you just need to be on a bridal one, with you actually in your dress on the front and you are all set! You are too funny! Glad your trip has been good!

Today is a rest day after recovery-turned-tempo run yesterday. So I did 1/2 primary Ashtanga while the abaniles walked around me. Hard to find drishte there.
Tomorrow I have 5-6 miles tempo scheduled but I’m not sure what I’ll do since I did tempo yesterday. Maybe some short intervals and a “recovery” run.
