Going with the Christmas theme around here, I’ll kindly show you my Christmas cards. This was my office while making them:
The past couple years I’ve made my own cards. I really like to do it, and Jay even says that I should go into the card making business. With the amount of time and money each card took, I think I could safely gross at least $.04 an hour.
This is the front of our card:
(I took a picture of the card I sent my mom so, like all my photography, the quality is 100% awesome)
The picture was taken about about an hour or so after I ran my marathon in Vegas. The card I made with wrapping paper from Target that I glued onto a plain card.
And the inside, I used a “Merry Christmas” stamp and some random sparklies from Michaels.
I also write a Christmas letter every year. Not to toot my own horn, but I write a slightly funnier than the standard xmas letter. Some of my friends have said that they can’t wait to get my card every year and it’s the best present in the world and the only thing that keeps them going throughout the year. Toot toot!
Some snowy pictures at my parent’s house:
Yes, my mom has a convertible smartcar and yes, I’m jealous because hers is mass cooler than mine.
I’m a transplanted Cali girl and not used to this white stuff!
Being dorky as normal.
This morning my mom and I brought lunch and dessert to some of my friends and their babies. We bought Subway and I made a cake:
I’m a regular Martha Stewart, aren’t I? Well, minus the insider trading.
Do you do anything crafty?? Like knit your own underwear or something slightly more normal, like scrapbook?

If I had time to do something crafty, I totally would. I’m fairly creative and find it quite fun, but any extra hours I find in the day I like to spend doing something super productive – like eating.

Wow you are crafty! I was an arts and crafts counsellor at camp one year, and to put it eloquently, I sucked. very badly.
I try to scrapbook but I find it takes me soooooo long. I started making a scrapbook from my Europe trip in 2007. I have completed 4 pages. Slow and steady wins the race?
Love your snowman cake he’s so cute!

They are some great looking Christmas cards
I always have all good intentions of making my own cards – but then reality kicks in and I go buy them hehe
oooh and that snowman cake is too cute!

I make cards as well. I don’t claim to be uber crafty, I just enjoy cutting and pasting pretty paper and ribbons, though the outcome is not always as pretty as the materials I started with. (lame? you bet)
Also I wanted to let you know I’ve given you an ‘award’ on my blog. Nothing fancy or creepy, just me saying that I like to read your blog for inspiration. (Though I must admit the food in my fridge has been winning for the past few months)
Thanks for sharing and being absolutely hilarious!

I am a special ed teacher and I like to make my Christmas ornaments to give to my students. I take samples of their coloring and deco-pague it! simple yet very meaningful!

I made my own Christmas cards too! They took forever to make but at least they are one of a kind. Might not go to that much trouble next year.

I’m not crafty in any sense. I also do not bake. I have only a couple things I will bake maybe once a year. I am all about using shutterfly or other companies doing the dirty work.

So glad you used the marathon pic as the Christmas card…and love the snowman cake! So cute.

I’m impressed with your card-making skills! I made about half of our cards this year, and now I have ideas for next year. I am crafty…scrapbooking, card making, painting and more. But my creativity comes and goes. Thankfully it hit for about a week so I could make Christmas cards!

VERY impressed by both the card crafting and cake baking. both look fantastic! i do nothing crafty except fold fitted sheets by wrapping them into a knot. last summer i got into the groove of beading bracelets, but that almost caused a nervous breakdown. so, that along with a million other half-hearted hobbies went out the window!

that cake is awesome! unfortunately, i’m not “crafty” if you will. Stick figures are my specialty though.
care to share your christmas letter?

No crafty skills here whatsoever, but dang that snowman is cute!

Love the card! I wanted to do a crafty Christmas card, but that so didnt happen this year. So instead Kodak came to the rescue and helped share the holiday cheer with a pretty picture of us

Love the card, and your cake! I remember my mom made a snowman cake just like that when I was little.
The closest to crafty I get is probably tie-dye. I’ve made sooo many t-shirts, it’s kind of ridiculous. The hanes shirts come in 5 packs though, so what can I do? haha

I think you are Martha Stewart. Her daughter has a show about her and makes fun of Martha the entire time. Have you ever seen it?
I do knit my own underwear. I’m planning on writing a how-to post in the near future. I’ll let you know when I do.

dang, you are martha stewart. i was proud of myself for sending out the printed postcards with a photo on them!
and that cake looks awesome…i think you need to post the recipe

I’m a totally nerdy crafty-type. I make wedding, party & shower favors, gift tags– anything involving paper and parties.
I actually sell wedding/shower/party favors and gift tags on Etsy…you should consider doing that if you enjoy making cards so much! It’s a nice way to get paid to do something you enjoy.

Snowman=love!!
I love your mom’s car… too cute!

I needlepoint, which is just about the most grandma thing around. But, so soothing. I think crafty stuff is the best stress reliever. Probably stems from my Martha obsession.
Also, love your cake! Mmm I love the licorice bow most of all.

I make artwork to hang on my walls. Me color pretty pictures with crayons …
No really I like to find fabrics and elements and stretch it over a frame or even sturdy thick card board and create a print out of it for decorating. It worked well once with a giant table cloth from Target of two irises. We’ll see how this next project is going to go. Modge podge is my new best friend however.

I love that cake!
And no…I’m not crafty at all. I try to be, but usually fail BIG TIME!
December 16, 2009 at 1:20 PM
That cake is ridiculously cute. the only crafty thing i could do is smash my face into it, full throttle.

I meant to put the card comment on this post…but I am retarded…
Is that a fish on your sweatshirt? That’s hott
