WORKOUT – (11) Ran outside 1 hr 18 mins/9.0 miles

Since starting running post-injury, this is the farthest I’ve run.  I’ve got sooo much work ahead of me….

Pre-run I normally have a banana and coffee.  Today I decided to get a little wild and have coffee and a GU.

011

After a 4+ month GU hiatus, I forgot how gross these things are.  Must be an aquired taste because ESPRESSO LOVE was my favorite flavor.

Had a JOINT JUICE post run.  25 calories and 1500mg of glucosamine which is good for the joints, hence the name.  Thank you, Captain Obvious.  What’s with all the beverage recommendations lately?  And sadly, a margarita didn’t even make the list.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I LOVE Nike running shorts.  It’s about all I wear.  Recently, my mom bought me these Nike look-alike shorts at Target:
010
They’re cute, about half the price of Nike shorts.  Should be sweet, right?
No.  They sucked.  big time.
Part of the problem is that these things run big and baggy.  I got a M, and I coulda taken a dump in my shorts and you wouldn’t have even known.  (Note to self: this could come in handy in the future…)
I should have returned them for a smaller size but didn’t have the receipt or credit card and Target has a Nazi return policy.  I’m pretty sure you have to bring a lawyer, the actual register that rung you up, and a surveillance video tape of yourself to prove that you didn’t steal them.
The other problem is that they got sweaty, stuck to my legs, and did this super flattering sort of thing:
 Awesome.  Truly awesome.  I think I’ll stick with the Nike’s next time around.
Does anyone wear Target running shorts and love them?  What running shorts/skirts do you buy??
Do you ever take a doo in your shorts?  Please don’t answer that….
I love Lululemon running shorts/capris/pants, I haven’t tried anything else!
Haha, I usually wear my cotton shorts, they definitely don’t ride up. I especially couldn’t take a dump in them and have it go unnoticed! HAHA!
I love those Nike shorts, I have like 3 pairs and wear them all the time. I’ve never bought running shorts from Target, but I absolutely hate when my shorts ride up like that. Then you have to do the super graceful maneuver of trying to pull them back down every 10 steps. Awesome.
Great job on the run! You are such a good runner, I’m sure you’re going to be back in marathon shape in no time!
My Nike shorts do the same thing! Totally gross and have not found an acceptable replacement
I get a veg (vag weggie) no matter what GD shorts I wear :(
My stupid legs rub together, and they really aren’t that big either. I swear.
I also only wear Nike, although I borrowed a pair of Under Armour shorts from my sister last time I was in Dallas, and liked them as well.
My parents just sent me a pair of adidas shorts, but they’re not actual “running” shorts, so I don’t know about them yet.
I try to go to the Nike outlet here in Charleston to save some money, but there’s a Dick’s within walking distance from my house…so that doesn’t always happen.
Nike shorts are fantastic, and that’s pretty much my fave. I have a pair of Target shorts (Champion, I believe) and they do feel constricting when you get the least bit sweaty. I recently purchased a skirt from RunningSkirts.com and it is beyond amazing! It doesn’t ride up in the crotch like shorts, and it looks really cute too.
For Target, I stick to the cheap running tank tops. ;)
UGH! I have those stupid shorts. I thought they would work well…& well- i thought wrong!! They are flipping huge! I bought a small and they still ride up and are baggy as hell. I hate them. I actually found my hate for them on my 16 miler this summer. It was god awful. Id rather spend the $28 on the nike shorts and not have @$$ chafe. Nice image eh?
Great job on your run girl! you rock!!
First, damn you’re tan! Second, I don’t do Target shorts for the same cheap-o reason. I’ll wear their dry-fit tanks though. Those are super cute.
You are hilarious! So true about the Target return policy! And I would like to do some business with you about trading something for your stomach..perhaps my little sister? She is six and very well behaved ..just something to think about.
I love Nike shorts too! I hate to wear cheer shorts to run in when my Nike’s are dirty. Total cameltoe city ugh.
Wow, you’re pretty cut!! But I also love the Nike shorts. Except they also sometimes do the riding up thing that your Target ones did.
Nike shorts have seemed to work the best for me. I do have some Under Armour ones too and they are decent.
Virtually all shorts suck unless you have the perfect body for that specific pair. SkirtSport makes the best running and fitness skirts. They have styles with spankies or shorties or capris built-in. Pick your favorite and you won’t deal with riding up or veg’s anymore (I love that word. ha!).
So glad you are back! I was on vacation and am catching up on all of your posts … always makes me laugh.
Nike all the way. I do have two pairs of the really cheap Target shorts which I am actually liking. They were on sale for $6.99, and are very basic but good for walking and doing weights, not sure on running though.
Aside from those, Nike is the only brand that fits my petite person.
BAHAHA, I have one pair of nike running shorts. They’re the only ones I wear because they don’t ride up! Or I can wear tight running tights, but sometimes I like a little breathin’ room, if ya know what I mean.
Had to comment on this because I totally second your comment about Target’s return policy. Awful. I just bought a pair of workout capris from there that I LOVE. I don’t do shorts cause no matter where they are from they do what you’ve pictured here. This is what happens when you have big thighs. You wouldn’t understand.
Hey! Your blog is too cute…and halarious! I wanted to comment on the shoe thing, even tho you have already bought the Christian’s…fab by the way…but there is a boot at target.com that is a lot like the one Jessica Biel had on in the pic. You made the right choice!
